A species of aerobic, Gram-positive, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Firmicutes. This species is motile, spore forming, catalase and superoxide dismutase positive, indole negative, and reduces nitrate, hydrolyzes starch, and does not ferment glucose or lactose.
