A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacterium in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is motile by peritrichous flagella, oxidase, urease and indole negative, catalase positive, reduces nitrate, does not degrade pectate and produces acid from sorbitol.
