A species of aerobic and facultatively anaerobic, Gram-negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, non-spore forming, not beta-hemolytic, oxidase, urease, ornithine decarboxylase, and indole negative, phosphatase positive, reduces nitrate, does not hydrolyze esculin or acidify galactose, and slowly and weakly ferments carbohydrates.
