  • Heat stroke caused by exposure to the sun. It is characterized by dangerously high BODY TEMPERATURE; red, hot skin; DELUSIONS; CONVULSIONS; or COMA. It can be a life-threatening emergency and is most common in infants and the elderly.

  • (sun stroke) A reaction to prolonged exposure to high temperatures that can result in a failure of the body's temperature control system. It is often characterized by body temperature over 105 degrees, dehydration, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and muscle weakness.
