  • A species of irregularly shaped bacteria that does not contain a cell well in the phylum Tenericutes. This species is urease and acid phosphatase positive and hexokinase and catalase negative; sterols are required for growth. U. urealyticum resides in the genital flora of humans and may be a cause of urogenital infections.
