With increasing life expectancy, the quest for skin rejuvenation has gained prominence among individuals of diverse age groups. The popularity of nutricosmetics, notably dietary supplements, has garnered significant attention in recent years. Many scientific investigations have amassed compelling evidence highlighting the positive impact of hydrolyzed collagen supplementation in mitigating the visible signs of skin aging. This study aims to know the powerful effect of hydrolyzed collagen on the skin. This research method is to conduct a systematic review followed by a meta-analysis of the clinical trial focusing on randomized, double-blind, and controlled trials that examined the oral consumption of hydrolyzed collagen and reported outcomes related to skin aging, wrinkles, moisture levels, elasticity, and firmness. The selected articles from CENTRAL, PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect databases were published from 2017 to 2023. The subsequent meta-analysis, comprising 14 distinct studies and a collective cohort of 967 participants, revealed encouraging findings favoring hydrolyzed collagen supplementation. It consistently demonstrated substantial enhancements in skin moisture levels and elasticity compared to the placebo group, a trend robustly corroborated by subgroup analysis. These compelling findings underscore the effectiveness of a 12-week regimen of hydrolyzed collagen supplementation in revitalizing the skin by augmenting its hydration and elasticity.

METHODS
Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Register of Clinical Trials databases were systematically searched. The search time frame was from database creation to June 2, 2022. Randomized controlled double-blind trials of oral medication for overactive bladder were screened against the protocol's entry criteria. Trials were evaluated for quality using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool, and data were statistically analyzed using Stata 16.0 software.
RESULT
A total of 60 randomized controlled double-blind clinical trials were included involving 50,333 subjects. Solifenacin 10mg was the most effective in mean daily micturitions and incontinence episodes, solifenacin 5/10mg in mean daily urinary urgency episodes and nocturia episodes, fesoterodine 8mg in urgency incontinence episodes/d and oxybutynin 5mg in voided volume/micturition. In terms of safety, solifenacin 5mg, ER-tolterodine 4mg, mirabegron, vibegron and ER-oxybutynin 10mg all showed a better incidence of dry mouth, fesoterodine 4mg, ER-oxybutynin 10mg, tolterodine 2mg, and vibegron in the incidence of constipation. Compared to placebo, imidafenacin 0.1mg showed a significantly increased incidence in hypertension, solifenacin 10mg in urinary tract infection, fesoterodine 4/8mg and darifenacin 15mg in headache.
CONCLUSION
Solifenacin showed better efficacy. For safety, most anticholinergic drugs were more likely to cause dry mouth and constipation, lower doses were better tolerated. The choice of drugs should be tailored to the patient's specific situation to find the best balance between efficacy and safety.

PURPOSE
To systematically assess the evidence of efficacy and safety of the use of ketamine and esketamine for patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) with suicidal ideation (SI).
METHODS
We independently searched for clinical trials from inception to January 2023 using electronic databases, e.g., PubMed and EMBASE. A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to assess SI scores of depression rating scales, which were regarded as the outcomes.
RESULTS
A total of five independent double-blind, placebo controlled randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are eligible for inclusion. Four of the studies used ketamine as an intervention and one used esketamine as an intervention. Three hundred ninety-one patients with TRD were included (the intervention group with ketamine or esketamine is 246, and the control group is 145). No statistically significant interaction between the subscales of suicide ideation (SMD = - 0.66, 95% CI (- 1.61, 0.29); Z = 1.36, P = 0.17) and antidepressant effects (SMD = - 0.99, 95% CI (- 2.33, 0.34); Z = 1.46, P = 0.15) based on the results of ketamine and esketamine, compared with placebo groups.
CONCLUSION
This meta-analysis suggested that esketamine and ketamine have failed to reduce suicidal ideation in patients with TRD. Further studies are desirable to confirm the effects of ketamine and esketamine in TRD patients.

BACKGROUND
This is an updated version of an original Cochrane Review published in 2013 (Walker 2013). Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder affecting 0.5% to 1% of the population. Pharmacological treatment remains the first choice to control epilepsy. However, up to 30% of people do not respond to drug treatment, and therefore do not achieve seizure remission. Experimental and clinical evidence supports a role for inflammatory pathway activation in the pathogenesis of epilepsy which, if effectively targeted by immunomodulatory interventions, highlights a potentially novel therapeutic strategy.
OBJECTIVES
To assess the efficacy and tolerability of immunomodulatory interventions on seizures, adverse effect profile, cognition, and quality of life, compared to placebo controls, when used as additional therapy for focal epilepsy in children and adults.
SEARCH METHODS
For the latest update, we searched the following databases on 11 November 2021: Cochrane Register of Studies (CRS Web) and Medline (Ovid) 1946 to 10 November 2021. CRS Web includes randomised or quasi-randomised, controlled trials from PubMed, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials.gov, the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP), the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and the Specialized Registers of Cochrane Review Groups including Epilepsy. We placed no language restrictions. We reviewed the bibliographies of retrieved studies to search for additional reports of relevant studies.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Randomised placebo-controlled trials of add-on immunomodulatory drug interventions, in which an adequate method of concealment of randomisation was used. The studies were double-, single- or unblinded. Eligible participants were children (aged over 2 years) and adults with focal epilepsy.
DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
We used standard methodological procedures expected by the Cochrane Collaboration. We assessed the following outcomes. 1. 50% or greater reduction in seizure frequency. 2. Seizure freedom. 3. Treatment withdrawal for any reason. 4. Quality of life. 5.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
We used an intention-to-treat (ITT) population for all primary analyses, and we presented results as risk ratios (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% Cl).
MAIN RESULTS
We included three randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials on a total of 172 participants. All trials included children and adults over two years of age with focal epilepsy. Treatment phases lasted six weeks and follow-up from six weeks to six months. One of the three included trials described an adequate method of concealment of randomisation, whilst the other two trials were rated as having an unclear risk of bias due to lack of reported information around study design. Effective blinding of studies was reported in all three trials. All analyses were by ITT. One trial was sponsored by the manufacturer of an immunomodulatory agent and therefore was at high risk of funding bias. Immunomodulatory interventions were significantly more effective than placebo in reducing seizure frequency (risk ratio (RR) 2.30, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.15 to 4.60; 3 studies, 172 participants; moderate-certainty evidence). For treatment withdrawal, there was insufficient evidence to conclude that people were more likely to discontinue immunomodulatory intervention than placebo (RR 1.04, 95% CI 0.28 to 3.80; 3 studies, 172 participants; low-certainty evidence). The RR for adverse effects was 1.16 (95% CI 0.84 to 1.59; 1 study, 66 participants; low-certainty evidence). Certain adverse effects such as dizziness, headache, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disorders were more often associated with immunomodulatory interventions. There were little to no data on cognitive effects and quality of life. No important heterogeneity between studies was found for any of the outcomes. We judged the overall certainty of evidence (using the GRADE approach) as low to moderate due to potential attrition bias resulting from missing outcome data and imprecise results with wide confidence intervals.
AUTHORS' CONCLUSIONS
Immunomodulatory interventions as add-on treatment for children and adults with focal epilepsy appear to be effective in reducing seizure frequency. It is not possible to draw any conclusions about the tolerability of these agents in children and adults with epilepsy. Further randomised controlled trials are needed.

BACKGROUND AND HYPOTHESIS
Psychotic experiences (PEs) are associated with increased risk for mental disorders, in particular persistent PEs. PEs therefore might be useful within intervention research. We sought to systematically determine the incidence and persistence of PEs in the general population.
STUDY DESIGN
A double-blind search of databases (Embase, Pubmed PMC, Psychinfo, Medline, and Web of Science) from inception to January 2023 and data extraction, were conducted. Study quality was assessed using the NIH assessment tool. Random effects models were conducted to calculate pooled incidence rate per person-year and proportion of persistent PEs per year. Age and study design were all examined using subgroup analyses. Demographic, risk factors, and outcomes for incidence and persistence of PEs were reported in a narrative synthesis.
STUDY RESULTS
Using a double-blind screening method for abstract (k = 5763) and full text (k = 250) were screened. In total 91 samples from 71 studies were included, of which 39 were included in a meta-analysis (incidence: k = 17, n = 56 089; persistence: k = 22, n = 81 847). Incidence rate was 0.023 per person-year (95% CI [0.0129;0.0322]). That is, for every 100 people, 2 reported first onset PEs in a year. This was highest in adolescence at 5 per 100(13-17 years). The pooled persistence rate for PEs was 31.0% (95% CI [26.65,35.35]) This was highest in adolescence at 35.8%. Cannabis was particularly associated with incidence of PEs, and persistence of PEs were associated with multiple mental disorders.
CONCLUSIONS
Each year incidence of PEs is 2 of every 100 people, and persists each year in 31% of cases, this risk is highest in adolescents.

BACKGROUND
Dupilumab is the first biologic approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD) in children and adolescents. Previous systematic reviews explored the effectiveness and safety of dupilumab in adults with AD. However, the underlying mechanisms of AD can vary among different age groups, emphasizing the need for separate investigation into the use of dupilumab in children and adolescents with AD.
OBJECTIVE
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of dupilumab in children and adolescents with AD based on evidence from clinical trials and observational studies.
METHODS
The process of meta-analysis was conducted according to preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses guidelines.
RESULTS
Seven clinical trials and 11 observational studies involving 1275 children and adolescents with AD were eligible for quantitative analysis. Overall, the pooled percentages of eczema area and severity index (EASI) 50, EASI 75, EASI 90, EASI 100, and investigator's global assessment (IGA) 0/1 were 72.9% (95% CI: 61.6%-81.9%), 57.4% (48.1%-66.2%), 31.3% (24.0%-39.7%), 29.7% (23.3%-37.0%), and 35.2% (29.3%-41.5%). With prolonged treatment time, an increase was seen in the pooled rate of EASI response, indicating that dupilumab may provide sustained benefits for children and adolescents over the long term. The reported adverse events were primarily mild and manageable, with an overall incidence rate of 7.2% across clinical trials and 7.6% across observational studies.
CONCLUSION
Dupilumab was an effective and safe treatment option for children and adolescents with AD, with positive results observed from long-term use and an acceptable safety profile. More long-term, high-quality, controlled studies in different regions are needed for further verification.

The effect of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors on cancer has yet to be fully elucidated.
OBJECTIVE
This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on cancer.
METHODS
We searched the PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov databases up to July 15, 2023, to identify eligible randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials that lasted at least ≥24 weeks. The primary outcome was the overall cancer incidence, and the secondary outcomes were the incidences of various types of cancer. We used the Mantel-Haenszel method, fixed effects model, risk ratio (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) to analyze dichotomous variables. Subgroup analysis was performed based on the SGLT2 inhibitor type, baseline conditions, and follow-up duration. All meta-analyses were performed using RevMan5.4.1 and Stata MP 16.0.
RESULTS
A total of 58 publications (59 trials) were included, comprising 113,909 participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or chronic kidney disease and/or high cardiovascular risk and/or heart failure (SGLT2 inhibitor group, 63864; placebo group, 50045). Compared to the placebo SGLT2 inhibitors did not significantly increase the overall incidence of cancer (RR 1.01; 95% CI 0.94-1.08; p = 0.82). However, ertugliflozin did significantly increase the overall incidence of cancer (RR 1.29; 95% CI 1.01-1.64; p = 0.04). SGLT2 inhibitors did not increase the risks of bladder or breast cancer. However, dapagliflozin did significantly reduce the risk of bladder cancer by 47% (RR 0.53; 95% CI 0.35-0.81; p = 0.003). SGLT2 inhibitors had no significant effect on the risks of gastrointestinal, thyroid, skin, respiratory, prostate, uterine/endometrial, hepatic and pancreatic cancers. Dapagliflozin reduced the risk of respiratory cancer by 26% (RR 0.74; 95% CI 0.55-1.00; p = 0.05). SGLT2 inhibitors (particularly mediated by dapagliflozin and ertugliflozin but not statistically significant) were associated with a greater risk of renal cancer than the placebo (RR 1.39; 95% CI 1.04-1.87; p = 0.03).
CONCLUSION
SGLT2 inhibitors did not significantly increase the overall risk of cancer or the risks of bladder and breast cancers. However, the higher risk of renal cancer associated with SGLT2 inhibitors warrants concern.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) and postpartum depression (PPD) are common and burdensome conditions. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of zuranolone, a neuroactive steroid γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptors-positive allosteric modulator, in treating MDD and PPD. A comprehensive literature search was conducted until September 2023, identifying seven randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The results demonstrated that zuranolone significantly decreased Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAM-D) scores in patients with PPD or MDD at day 15 (concluding the 14-day course) and day 42-45 (4 weeks after treatment cessation) compared with the placebo, albeit exhibiting a diminishing trend. Moreover, a higher percentage of patients with PPD or MDD achieved HAM-D response and remission with zuranolone treatment compared with placebo at day 15. However, zuranolone did not significantly increase the proportion of MDD patients achieving HAM-D remission at 42/43 days. Adverse events (AEs) such as somnolence, dizziness, and sedation were linked to zuranolone, with a higher but not statistically significant rate of discontinuation due to AEs in the zuranolone group. Overall, our findings support the rapid antidepressant effects of zuranolone in MDD and PPD, along with a relatively favorable safety and tolerability. Large-scale longitudinal RCTs are needed to evaluate the long-term efficacy of zuranolone.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS
Compulsive buying-shopping disorder (CBSD) is mentioned as an example of other specified impulse control disorders in the ICD-11 coding tool, highlighting its clinical relevance and need for treatment. The aim of the present work was to provide a systematic update on treatment studies for CBSD, with a particular focus on online CBSD.
METHOD
The preregistered systematic review (PROSPERO, CRD42021257379) was performed in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 statement. A literature search was conducted using the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and PsycInfo databases. Original research published between January 2000 and December 2022 was included. Risk of reporting bias was evaluated with the CONSORT guideline for randomized controlled trials. Effect sizes for primary CBSD outcomes were calculated.
RESULTS
Thirteen studies were included (psychotherapy: 2 open, 4 waitlist control design; medication: 2 open, 3 placebo-controlled, 2 open-label phase followed by a double-blind discontinuation phase; participants treatment/control 349/149). None of the studies addressed online CBSD. Psychotherapy studies suggest that group cognitive-behavioral therapy is effective in reducing CBSD symptoms. Pharmacological studies with selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors or topiramate did not indicate superiority over placebo. Predictors of treatment outcome were rarely examined, mechanisms of change were not studied at all. Risk of reporting bias was high in most studies.
DISCUSSION
Poor methodological and low quality of reporting of included studies reduce the reliability of conclusions. There is a lack of studies targeting online CBSD. More high-quality treatment research is needed with more emphasis on the CBSD subtype and mechanisms of change.

Efficacy and safety of abrocitinib for the treatment of adolescents and adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis: update of a living systematic review and meta-analysis.
Despite extensive research on biological therapies for atopic dermatitis (AD), recent clinical trials of the Janus kinase inhibitor 1, abrocitinib, have provided more definitive evidence regarding its efficacy and safety in treating AD. To conduct a living systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of abrocitinib in adolescents and adults with moderate-to-severe AD. The databases of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and clinical trial registries were searched from inception of the databases to July 11, 2023. Only randomized controlled trials assessing the efficacy and safety of abrocitinib in individuals with moderate-to-severe AD were included in the meta-analysis. Twelve studies involving a total of 5,644 participants aged 12 years or older were included in the analysis. The pooled results revealed a significantly higher proportion of patients achieving Investigator Global Assessment response (RR = 3.52, 95% CI: 2.78 to 4.46), Eczema Area and Severity Index response (RR = 3.35, 95% CI: 2.54 to 4.41), Peak Pruritus Numeric Rating Scale response (RR = 2.54, 95% CI: 1.95 to 3.30), and Patient-Oriented Eczema Measure response (abrocitinib 100-mg group: -4.25, 95% CrI: -5.24 to -3.27; abrocitinib 200-mg group: -7.69, 95% CrI: -8.39 to -6.99) compared to the placebo group. Additionally, there was no significant differences in adverse events between the abrocitinib and placebo groups. Abrocitinib demonstrates a favourable safety profile and robust efficacy in treating moderate-to-severe AD compared to placebo. The 200-mg dose regimen appears to be more effective than the 100-mg dose regimen for the treatment of AD.
