Review
The nutritional needs already increased by adolescent growth, activity, and stress are further exacerbated by the physical, physiological, and psychological stress that orthodontic treatment causes. Hence, the main objective of this systematic review was to analyze the relationship between adequate nutrition and its impact on orthodontic treatment success rates. Using relevant keywords, reference searches, and citation searches, the databases such as PubMed-Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Web of Science, Cochrane, and Scopus were all searched. "Diet," "Minerals," "Nutrition," "Orthodontics," and "Vitamins" were the search terms used to scour the database. The 10 studies selected for the systematic review and subsequent meta-analysis could not conclusively establish the correlation between proper nutrition and its impact on orthodontic treatment of the patient. There was virtually little connection between patients' dietary intake and the effectiveness of their orthodontic treatment. Additionally, a direct causal link between the two could not be established legitimately because the majority of the studies reviewed only noted an impact during the early stages of the treatment. Review
BACKGROUND
Burnout is an occupational phenomenon caused by ineffectively managed work-related stress. Burnout is common among healthcare professionals and has the capacity to compromise patient care, but is not well characterised in pharmacists.
AIM
This systematic review aimed to establish the prevalence of burnout among pharmacists, and its associated risk factors.
METHOD
A systematic search of Embase, PubMed, CINAHL and PsychInfo was carried out. Studies were included using the following eligibility criteria; original research investigating burnout prevalence in pharmacists in patient-facing roles in any jurisdiction, using any validated burnout measurement instrument. No language or date barriers were set. Data were extracted by the first author and accuracy checked by co-authors. A pooled prevalence was estimated, and narrative synthesis provided.
RESULTS
Burnout prevalence data were extracted from 19 articles involving 11,306 pharmacist participants across eight countries. More than half (51%) of pharmacists were experiencing burnout. Associated risk factors included longer working hours, less professional experience, high patient and prescription volumes, excessive workload and poor work/life balance. The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted pharmacist burnout and resilience. Involvement in education and training and access to burnout management resources were associated with lower rates of burnout, but burnout intervention effectiveness is unknown.
CONCLUSION
Burnout remains high among pharmacists and may negatively affect the quality of patient care. There is significant heterogeneity pertaining to the definition and assessment of burnout and there remains a need to identify and evaluate effective individual and organisational burnout interventions.

Review
Auriculotherapy, a form of therapy that involves stimulating specific points on the ear auricle, has garnered attention for its potential in holistic stress management in adults, aligning with broader patient-centered therapeutic approaches. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of auriculotherapy for stress relief in adults. A comprehensive search of nine databases (PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, Web of Science, Ovid Medline, Cochrane Library, RISS, KMbase, and KISS) was performed, yielding 553 studies. Of these, 12 were selected for meta-analysis based on the inclusion criteria, which considered demographic data, types of auriculotherapy, intervention characteristics, auricular points, and stress-related outcomes. The risk of bias was also evaluated for each selected study. The meta-analysis results ( = 12) indicated that auriculotherapy was significantly superior to the control group in terms of subjective stress index, blood pressure, heart rate variability, and pulse rate, as well as improving low-frequency (LF) and high-frequency (HF) heart rate components and their ratio (LF/HF) in adults. Additionally, the subgroup analysis indicated a trend where the effect size of acupressure may be larger than that of acupuncture. Our findings underscore auriculotherapy's efficacy in reducing stress in adults, advocating for its integration into nursing curriculums as a viable clinical intervention for stress management. Promoting its application in clinical environments could complement holistic, patient-centric care paradigms.

Review
PURPOSE
Stress radiographs are an easily accessible, cost-effective tool in the evaluation of acute and chronic ligament knee injuries. Stress radiographs provide an objective, quantifiable, and functional assessment of the injured ligament and can be a useful adjunct when planning surgical management and to objectively assess postoperative outcomes. This study aimed to review the literature reporting on stress radiographic techniques in evaluating knee ligament injury and instability and propose thresholds for interpreting stress radiography techniques.
METHODS
The following three databases, OVID MEDLINE, the EMBASE library, and the Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, were systematically searched on January 23, 2023, for studies published from January 1970 to January 2023. The search extended to the reference lists of all relevant studies and orthopedic journals. Included studies were those that described a stress technique for the diagnosis of knee ligament injury; studies that reported a description or comparison of the accuracy and/or reliability of one or several stress radiography techniques, or studies that reported a comparison with alternative diagnostic modalities.
RESULTS
Sixteen stress radiography techniques were reported for assessing the ACL with stress applied in the anterior plane, 10 techniques for assessing the PCL with stress applied in the posterior plane, 3 techniques for valgus stress, and 4 techniques for varus stress. The Telos device was the most commonly used stress device in the ACL and PCL studies. There was no consensus on the accuracy and reliability of stress radiography techniques for the diagnosis of any knee ligament injury. Stress radiography techniques were compared with alternative diagnostic techniques including instrumented arthrometry, MRI, and physical examination in 18 studies, with variability in the advantages and disadvantages of stress radiography techniques and alternatives. Analysis of results pooled from different studies demonstrated average delta gapping in knees with a completely injured ligament compared to the normal contralateral knee as per the following: for the ACL 4.9 ± 1.4 mm; PCL 8.1 ± 2.5 mm; MCL 2.3 ± 0.05 mm; and the FCL 3.4 ± 0.2 mm.
CONCLUSION
Despite heterogeneity in the available literature with regard to stress examination techniques and device utilization, the data support that stress radiography techniques were accurate and reliable when compared to numerous alternatives in the diagnosis of acute and chronic knee ligament injuries. The present study also provides average increased ipsilateral compartment gapping/translation for specific knee ligament injuries based on the best available data. These values provide a reference standard for the interpretation of stress radiography techniques, help to guide surgical decision-making, and provide benchmark values for future investigations.

Review
BACKGROUND
Carbon dioxide (CO) laser therapy is an emerging treatment for women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
OBJECTIVES
To examine the efficacy of CO laser therapy for management of SUI-related symptoms in women.
DESIGN
A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials and cohort studies.
DATA SOURCES AND METHODS
Four databases were screened until January 2023. All efficacy continuous endpoints were assessed subtraction of the posttreatment from pretreatment values. The data were summarized as mean difference (MD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) using the random-effects model.
RESULTS
A total of 15 studies with 700 patients were analyzed. CO laser therapy significantly decreased the 1-h pad weights at 3 months [ = 5 studies, MD = -3.656 g, 95% CI (-5.198, -2.113), < 0.001], 6 months [ = 6 studies, MD = -6.583 g, 95% CI (-11.158, -2.008), = 0.005], and 12 months [ = 6 studies, MD = -3.726 g, 95% CI (-6.347, -1.106), = 0.005]. Moreover, CO laser therapy significantly decreased the International Consultation of Incontinence Questionnaire-Urinary Incontinence Short Form Scores at 3 months [ = 10 studies, MD = -4.805, 95% CI (-5.985, -3.626), < 0.001] and 12-months [ = 6 studies, MD = -3.726, 95% CI (-6.347, -1.106), = 0.005]. Additionally, CO laser therapy significantly decreased the Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire scores at 6 months [ = 2 studies, MD = -11.268, 95% CI (-18.671, -3.865), = 0.002] and 12 months [ = 2 studies, MD = -10.624, 95% CI (-18.145, -3.103), = 0.006]. Besides, CO laser therapy significantly decreased the Urogenital Distress Inventory-6 scores at 3 months [ = 2 studies, MD = -21.997, 95% CI (-32.294, -11.699), < 0.001], but not at 6 months [ = 3 studies, MD = -3.034, 95% CI (-7.357, 1.259), = 0.169]. Lastly, CO laser therapy significantly increased the Vaginal Health Index Score at 6 months [ = 2 studies, MD = 2.826, 95% CI (0.013, 5.638), = 0.047] and 12 months [MD = 1.553, 95% CI (0.173, 2.934), = 0.027].
CONCLUSION
CO laser therapy improved the SUI-related symptoms in women. To obtain solid conclusions, future studies should be well-designed with standardized settings, consistent therapeutic protocols, and long-term follow-up periods.

Efficacy and Safety of Four Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies for Adults with Symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
There has been a resurgence in psychedelic research for managing psychiatric conditions in recent years. This study aimed to present a comprehensive review of the current state of the field by applying a systematic search strategy for articles on the effectiveness and tolerability of four psychedelic-assisted therapies (psilocybin, lysergic acid diethylamide [LSD], 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine [MDMA], and ayahuasca) for adults with symptoms of depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Psychometric scores and adverse events were pooled using random-effects meta-analysis models with Hedges' g bias-corrected standardized mean differences (g) and rate ratios (RR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Bias evaluation followed PRISMA and Cochrane guidelines. Eighteen studies were identified, which suggested that psychedelic therapies were well tolerated and presented a large effect size for the management of depression symptoms in a transdiagnostic population with psilocybin (g = -1.92, 95% CI, -2.73 to -1.11) and MDMA (g = -0.71; 95% CI, -1.39 to -0.03). These are promising results that complement the current literature. However, evidence certainty was low to very low due to methodological limitations, small sample size, blinding, study heterogeneity, and publication bias. These results also highlight the need for more adequately powered studies exploring these novel therapies.

Review
Neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) encompass a range of conditions that involve progressive deterioration and dysfunction of the nervous system. Some of the common NDDs include Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Huntington's disease (HD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Although significant progress has been made in understanding the pathological mechanisms of NDDs in recent years, the development of targeted and effective drugs for their treatment remains challenging. Kaempferol is a flavonoid whose derivatives include kaempferol-O-rhamnoside, 3-O-β-rutinoside/6-hydroxykaempferol 3,6-di-O-β-d-glucoside, and kaempferide. Emerging studies have suggested that kaempferol and its derivatives possess neuroprotective properties and may have potential therapeutic benefits in NDDs. Here, we aimed to provide a theoretical basis for the use of kaempferol and its derivatives in the clinical treatment of NDDs. We systematically reviewed the literature in the PubMed, Web of Science, and Science Direct databases until June 2022 using the search terms "kaempferol," "kaempferol derivatives," "NDDs," "pharmacokinetics," and "biosynthesis" according to the reporting items for systematic review (PRISMA) standard. Based on combined results of in vivo and in vitro studies, we summarize the basic mechanisms and targets of kaempferol and its derivatives in the management of AD, PD, HD, and ALS. Kaempferol and its derivatives exert a neuroprotective role mainly by preventing the deposition of amyloid fibrils (such as Aβ, tau, and α-synuclein), inhibiting microglia activation, reducing the release of inflammatory factors, restoring the mitochondrial membrane to prevent oxidative stress, protecting the blood-brain barrier, and inhibiting specific enzyme activities (such as cholinesterase). Kaempferol and its derivatives are promising natural neuroprotective agents. By determining their pharmacological mechanism, kaempferol and its derivatives may be new candidate drugs for the treatment of NDDs.

Meta-Analysis Review
PURPOSE
Breast cancer (BC) patients commonly face stress that causes severe psychological and physiological problems. The main objective of the review was to confirm the effect of interventions on breast cancer patients' perceived stress, and the secondary objective was to explore the impact of interventions on anxiety, depression, and inflammatory markers.
METHODS
A systematic and comprehensive search for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that reported interventions' effects on perceived stress in breast cancer patients was performed in nine databases.
RESULTS
Twenty-four RCTs, including 1887 participants, met the inclusion criteria, summarizing six categories for the intervention group: mindfulness and yoga, exercise, cognitive-behavioral stress management, self-regulation, relaxation training, and acupuncture. Compared with usual care or other types of care, mindfulness and yoga had excellent effects against perceived stress, anxiety, and depression; self-regulation could reduce perceived stress and anxiety; exercise could reduce perceived stress; acupuncture could reduce the level of depression; mindfulness could improve the TNF-α level, and yoga can reduce the level of salivary cortisol and DNA damage.
CONCLUSION
This systematic review indicated that nondrug interventions, such as mindfulness and yoga, effectively reduce perceived stress, anxiety, and depression. Rigorous studies with large sample sizes are needed to address the limitations of small sample sizes and shortcomings in methodology in this area.

Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND
Metabolic syndrome is affected by many factors, including lifestyle, mood, etc. Self-management of chronic diseases has attracted significant attention from researchers. Some studies have shown that patient self-management is a very important link, which can effectively alleviate the risk of further deterioration of the disease. However, so far, there has been no report on the basis of the summary of self-management intervention programs based on emotion management, which needs further in-depth discussion by researchers.
METHODS
The Medline (PubMed), Embase (Elsevier), PsycINFO (Ovid), CBM, CNKI and Wanfang databases were searched from the establishment of the databases to June 2022, and a total of 25 studies were traced. The inclusion criteria on stress management in patients of metabolic syndrome complicated with psychological symptoms uses meta-analysis. Two investigators independently assessed the risk of bias for each study using the Cochrane risk of bias tool.16 studies and 2687participants and relevant characteristics of studies.
RESULTS
In the effects of intervention measures based on stress management on depression, fasting plasma glucose, 2hFPG, high-density cholesterol, self-management behavior and quality of life in patients with psychological symptoms (depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia) complicated with metabolic diseases, there are statistically significant differences between the intervention group and the control group (P < .05).
CONCLUSIONS
Stress management intervention can effectively improve the health outcomes of patients. In all included analysis indicators, the results of the experimental group are better than those of the control group.

BACKGROUND
Owing to its pharmacodynamic properties, especially the rapid onset and short duration of its action, the use of remifentanil in obstetric anesthesia, as well as in neonatology, might be increasingly used.
OBJECTIVE
We conducted a systematic review to assess the efficacy and safety of remifentanil in preterm and term neonates. Outcomes of interest were neonatal adaptation after fetal exposure; neonatal pain, distress, and discomfort control during invasive procedures; and the occurrence of hemodynamic effects or respiratory depression induced by remifentanil infusion.
METHODS
Given the different contexts of use, we have organized this work into three parts: (A) use of remifentanil for labor or cesarean section, with exposure of the fetus before birth, (B) brief use for neonatal procedural analgesia, and (C) prolonged use for sedation/analgesia of neonates. The bibliographic search was conducted based on keywords using electronic medical databases (DATABASE, Cochrane Library, PubMed, and EMBASE) from 1 January 2000 until 31 December 2022.
RESULTS
Twenty-two articles were included (10 in part A, 5 in part B and 7 in part C). Prospective, controlled, randomized, blinded, and intention-to-treat trials were retained. Neonates were well adapted after exposure to remifentanil in the fetal period. Pain, stress, and discomfort were controlled during a brief or prolonged invasive procedure when remifentanil was used for sedation/analgesia. The physiological parameters were stable and the procedures were straightforward. Chest wall rigidity appeared to be a common side effect, but this can be managed by slow and continuous infusion and by using the minimum effective dose.
CONCLUSIONS
Remifentanil appears to be effective and safe in the short term in preterm and full-term neonates. However, its safety is compromised by the risk of chest wall rigidity. It should be used in appropriate neonatal units and in the presence of physicians able to monitor its side effects. Long-term outcomes have not been evaluated, to our knowledge.
