INTRODUCTION
In the big data era, where corporations commodify health data, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) present a transformative avenue for patient empowerment and control. NFTs are unique digital assets on the blockchain, representing ownership of digital objects, including health data. By minting their data as NFTs, patients can track access, monetize its use, and build secure, private health information systems. However, research on NFTs in healthcare is in its infancy, warranting a comprehensive review.
METHODS
This study conducted a systematic literature review and thematic analysis of NFTs in healthcare to identify use cases, design models, and key challenges. Five multidisciplinary research databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, IEEE Explore, Elsevier Science Direct) were searched. The approach involved four stages: paper collection, inclusion/exclusion criteria application, screening, full-text reading, and quality assessment. A classification and coding framework was employed. Thematic analysis followed six steps: data familiarization, initial code generation, theme searching, theme review, theme definition/naming, and report production.
RESULTS
Analysis of 19 selected papers revealed three primary use cases: patient-centric data management, supply chain management for data provenance, and digital twin development. Notably, most solutions were prototypes or frameworks without real-world implementations. Four overarching themes emerged: data governance (ownership, tracking, privacy), data monetization (commercialization, incentivization, sharing), data protection, and data storage. The focus lies on user-controlled, private, and secure health data solutions. Additionally, data commodification is explored, with mechanisms proposed to incentivize data maintenance and sharing. NFTs are also suggested for tracking medical products in supply chains, ensuring data integrity and provenance. Ethereum and similar platforms dominate NFT minting, while compact NFT storage options are being explored for faster data access.
CONCLUSION
NFTs offer significant potential for secure, traceable, decentralized healthcare data exchange systems. However, challenges exist, including dependence on blockchain, interoperability issues, and associated costs. The review identified research gaps, such as developing dual ownership models and data pricing strategies. Building an open standard for interoperability and adoption is crucial. The scalability, security, and privacy of NFT-backed healthcare applications require further investigation. Thus, this study proposes a research agenda for adopting NFTs in healthcare, focusing on governance, storage models, and perceptions.

Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted PET imaging is emerging as a promising tool for the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease (PD). We aim to systematically review the diagnostic accuracy of AI-assisted PET in detecting PD. The Ovid MEDLINE, Ovid Embase, Web of Science, and IEEE Xplore databases were systematically searched for related studies that developed an AI algorithm in PET imaging for diagnostic performance from PD and were published by August 17, 2023. Binary diagnostic accuracy data were extracted for meta-analysis to derive outcomes of interest: area under the curve (AUC). 23 eligible studies provided sufficient data to construct contingency tables that allowed the calculation of diagnostic accuracy. Specifically, 11 studies were identified that distinguished PD from normal control, with a pooled AUC of 0.96 (95% CI: 0.94-0.97) for presynaptic dopamine (DA) and 0.90 (95% CI: 0.87-0.93) for glucose metabolism (F-FDG). 13 studies were identified that distinguished PD from the atypical parkinsonism (AP), with a pooled AUC of 0.93 (95% CI: 0.91 - 0.95) for presynaptic DA, 0.79 (95% CI: 0.75-0.82) for postsynaptic DA, and 0.97 (95% CI: 0.96-0.99) for F-FDG. Acceptable diagnostic performance of PD with AI algorithms-assisted PET imaging was highlighted across the subgroups. More rigorous reporting standards that take into account the unique challenges of AI research could improve future studies.

Accurate prediction of recurrence and progression in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is essential to inform management and eligibility for clinical trials. Despite substantial interest in developing artificial intelligence (AI) applications in NMIBC, their clinical readiness remains unclear. This systematic review aimed to critically appraise AI studies predicting NMIBC outcomes, and to identify common methodological and reporting pitfalls. MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched from inception to February 5th, 2024 for AI studies predicting NMIBC recurrence or progression. APPRAISE-AI was used to assess methodological and reporting quality of these studies. Performance between AI and non-AI approaches included within these studies were compared. A total of 15 studies (five on recurrence, four on progression, and six on both) were included. All studies were retrospective, with a median follow-up of 71 months (IQR 32-93) and median cohort size of 125 (IQR 93-309). Most studies were low quality, with only one classified as high quality. While AI models generally outperformed non-AI approaches with respect to accuracy, c-index, sensitivity, and specificity, this margin of benefit varied with study quality (median absolute performance difference was 10 for low, 22 for moderate, and 4 for high quality studies). Common pitfalls included dataset limitations, heterogeneous outcome definitions, methodological flaws, suboptimal model evaluation, and reproducibility issues. Recommendations to address these challenges are proposed. These findings emphasise the need for collaborative efforts between urological and AI communities paired with rigorous methodologies to develop higher quality models, enabling AI to reach its potential in enhancing NMIBC care.

BACKGROUND
The digital transformation of healthcare enables new ways of working in cancer care directing attention on the digital skills of healthcare professionals. This systematic review aims to identify existing evidence about digital skills among health care professionals in cancer care to identify the needs for future education and research.
METHODS
Database searches were conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane and ERIC to identify studies until March 2023. The inclusion criteria were digital skills of health care professionals in cancer care as described by themselves, other health care professionals, patients or significant others. The CASP tool was used for quality assessment of the studies. Data was analysed following inductive content analysis.
RESULTS
The search produced 4563 records, of which 24 studies were included (12 qualitative, 10 quantitative, 1 mixed methods design and 1 strategy paper). Four main categories were identified describing HCPs' required skills, existing skills and development areas of digital skills in cancer care: Skills for information technology, Skills for ethical practice, Skills for creating a human-oriented relationship and Skills for digital education and support. In development areas, one more main category, Skills for implementing digital health, was identified.
CONCLUSION
The digital skills of health care professionals in cancer care are multifaceted and fundamental for quality cancer care. The skills need to be assessed to provide education based on actual learning needs. The review findings can be used for education and research in this field.

Key features in telehealth-delivered cardiac rehabilitation required to optimize cardiovascular health in coronary heart disease: a systematic review and realist synthesis.
Telehealth-delivered cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programmes can potentially increase participation rates while delivering equivalent outcomes to facility-based programmes. However, key components of these interventions that reduce cardiovascular risk factors are not yet distinguished. This study aims to identify features of telehealth-delivered CR that improve secondary prevention outcomes, exercise capacity, participation, and participant satisfaction and develop recommendations for future telehealth-delivered CR. The protocol for our review was registered with the Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (#CRD42021236471). We systematically searched four databases (PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, and Cochrane Database) for randomized controlled trials comparing telehealth-delivered CR programmes to facility-based interventions or usual care. Two independent reviewers screened the abstracts and then full texts. Using a qualitative review methodology (realist synthesis), included articles were evaluated to determine contextual factors and potential mechanisms that impacted cardiovascular risk factors, exercise capacity, participation in the intervention, and increased satisfaction. We included 37 reports describing 26 randomized controlled trials published from 2010 to 2022. Studies were primarily conducted in Europe and Australia/Asia. Identified contextual factors and mechanisms were synthesized into four theories required to enhance participant outcomes and participation. These theories are as follows: (i) early and regular engagement; (ii) personalized interventions and shared goals; (iii) usable, accessible, and supported interventions; and (iv) exercise that is measured and monitored. Providing a personalized approach with frequent opportunities for bi-directional interaction was a critical feature for success across telehealth-delivered CR trials. Real-world effectiveness studies are now needed to complement our findings.

Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are a tool that could potentially improve the outcomes of patient care by providing physicians with access to up-to-date and accurate vital patient information. Despite this potential, EMR adoption in developing economies has been dilatory. This systematic review aims to synthesize the related literature on the adoption of EMRs in developing economies, with a focus on the perspective of physicians. With the aim to discern the key factors that impact EMR adoption as perceived by physicians and to offer guidance for future research on filling any gaps identified in the existing literature, this study utilized a systematic literature review by following the PRISMA guidelines. Out of 1160 initial articles, 21 were selected for analysis after eliminating duplicates and non-qualifying articles. Results show that common enablers of EMR adoption from physicians' perspective were identified to be computer literacy, education, voluntariness, and the system functionality including its features and user interface, implying that the provision of proper interventions focusing on the aspects of the health information system has an impact in maximizing the utilization and capabilities of EMRs among healthcare providers. The most prevalent barriers include the lack of training and IT usage experience along with resistance to changes associated with respondents' age and gender, the lack of time for learning complex EMR systems, and costs of the new technology. This indicates that a thorough planning and proper budget allocation is necessary prior to implementing and integrating EMR systems in healthcare institutions. From this synthesis of the common research conclusions, limitations, and recommendations from physicians' perspective, the result of this systematic review is expected to shed light on the optimal technology adoption of EMRs and its contribution to the health care systems of developing economies.

OBJECTIVE
Mobile health applications hold immense potential for enhancing health outcomes. Usability is one of the main factors for the adoption and use of mobile health applications. However, despite the growing importance of mHealth applications, clear standards for their evaluation remain elusive. The present study aimed to determine heuristics for the usability evaluation of health-related applications.
METHODS
We systematically searched multiple databases for relevant papers published between January 2008 and April 2021. Articles were reviewed, and data were extracted and categorized from those meeting inclusion criteria by two authors independently. Heuristics were identified based on statements, words, and concepts expressed in the studies. These heuristics were first mapped to Nielsen's heuristics based on their differences or similarities. The remaining heuristics that were very important for mobile applications were categorized into new heuristics.
RESULTS
Seventeen studies met the eligibility criteria. Seventy-nine heuristics were extracted from the papers. After combining the items with the same concepts and removing irrelevant items based on the exclusion criteria, 20 heuristics remained. Common heuristics such as "Visibility of system status" and "Flexibility and efficiency of use" were categorized into 10 previously established heuristics and new heuristics like "Navigation" and "User engagement" were recognized as new ones.
CONCLUSIONS
In our study, we have meticulously identified 20 heuristics that hold promise for evaluating and designing mHealth applications. These heuristics can be used by the researchers for the development of robust tools for heuristic evaluation. These tools, when adapted or tailored for health domain applications, have the potential to significantly enhance the quality of mHealth applications. Ultimately, this improvement in quality translates to enhanced patient safety.

Digital data play an increasingly important role in advancing health research and care. However, most digital data in healthcare are in an unstructured and often not readily accessible format for research. Unstructured data are often found in a format that lacks standardization and needs significant preprocessing and feature extraction efforts. This poses challenges when combining such data with other data sources to enhance the existing knowledge base, which we refer to as digital unstructured data enrichment. Overcoming these methodological challenges requires significant resources and may limit the ability to fully leverage their potential for advancing health research and, ultimately, prevention, and patient care delivery. While prevalent challenges associated with unstructured data use in health research are widely reported across literature, a comprehensive interdisciplinary summary of such challenges and possible solutions to facilitate their use in combination with structured data sources is missing. In this study, we report findings from a systematic narrative review on the seven most prevalent challenge areas connected with the digital unstructured data enrichment in the fields of cardiology, neurology and mental health, along with possible solutions to address these challenges. Based on these findings, we developed a checklist that follows the standard data flow in health research studies. This checklist aims to provide initial systematic guidance to inform early planning and feasibility assessments for health research studies aiming combining unstructured data with existing data sources. Overall, the generality of reported unstructured data enrichment methods in the studies included in this review call for more systematic reporting of such methods to achieve greater reproducibility in future studies.

Low-middle income countries like India bear a heavier burden of maternal, childcare, and child mortality rates when compared with high-income countries, which highlights the disparity in global health. Numerous societal, geopolitical, economic, and institutional issues have been linked to this inequality. mHealth has the potential to ameliorate these challenges by providing health services and health-related information with the assistance of frontline workers in the provision of prepartum, delivery, and postnatal care to improve maternal and child health outcomes in hard-to-reach areas in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). However, there is limited evidence to support how mHealth can strengthen maternal and child health in India. The scoping review guideline in the Cochrane Handbook was used to retrieve studies from 4 international databases: CINAHL, Embase, Medline Ovid, and PubMed. This search strategy used combined keywords (MeSH terms) related to maternal and child healthcare, mHealth, and BIMARU in conjunction with database-controlled vocabulary. Out of 278 records, 8 publications were included in the review. The included articles used mHealth for data collection, eLearning, communication, patient monitoring, or tracking to deliver maternal and neonatal care. The results of these papers reflected a favourable effect of mHealth on the target population and found that it altered their attitudes and behaviours about healthcare. Higher job satisfaction and self-efficiency were reported by mHealth user care providers. Multiple barriers to the acceptance of mHealth exist, but the majority of the evidence points towards the feasibility of the intervention in a clinical setting. The mHealth has positive potential for improving maternal and child health outcomes in low-resource settings in India's BIMARU states by strengthening the healthcare system. The results of the study could be used in the tailoring of an effective mHealth intervention and implementation strategy in a similar context. However, there is a need for economic evaluation in the future to bridge the knowledge gap regarding the cost-effectiveness of mHealth interventions.

INTRODUCTION
Digital tools, such as mobile apps and the Internet, are being increasingly used to promote healthy eating habits. However, there has been inconsistent reporting on the effectiveness of smartphones and web-based apps in influencing dietary behaviors. Moreover, previous reviews have been limited in scope, either by focusing on a specific population group or by being outdated. Therefore, the purpose of this review is to investigate the impacts of smartphone- and web-based dietary interventions on promoting healthy eating behaviors worldwide.
METHODS
A systematic literature search of randomized controlled trials was conducted using databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Global Health, Informit, Web of Science, and CINAHL (EBSCO). The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were followed to prepare the entire document. EndNote (version 20) was used for reference management. The risk of bias in the articles was assessed using the "Revised Cochrane Risk of Bias tool for randomized trials (RoB 2.0)" by the Cochrane Collaboration. Narrative synthesis, using text and tables, was used to present the results. The study was registered in PROSPERO under protocol number CRD42023464315.
RESULTS
This review analyzed a total of 39 articles, which consisted of 25 smartphone-based apps and 14 web-based apps. The studies involved a total of 14,966 participants. Out of the 25 studies, 13 (52%) showed that offline-capable smartphone apps are successful in promoting healthier eating habits. The impact of smartphone apps on healthy adults has been inconsistently reported. However, studies have shown their effectiveness in chronically ill patients. Likewise, internet-based mobile apps, such as social media or nutrition-specific apps, have been found to effectively promote healthy eating behaviors. These findings were consistent across 14 studies, which included healthy adults, overweight or obese adults, chronically ill patients, and pregnant mothers.
CONCLUSION
Overall, the findings suggest that smartphone apps contribute to improving healthy eating behaviors. Both nutrition-specific and social media-based mobile apps consistently prove effective in promoting long-term healthy eating habits. Therefore, policymakers in the food system should consider harnessing the potential of internet-based mobile apps and social media platforms to foster sustainable healthy eating behaviors.
