INTRODUCTION
Despite the global vaccination campaign to prevent HPV-related morbidity, HPV vaccination uptake remains unacceptably low in the developing world, like Ethiopia. For strong interventional measures, compiled data in the field is required which is otherwise missed in the Ethiopian context. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to provide an estimate of the HPV vaccination uptake, mothers' willingness to vaccinate their adolescent girls, and associated factors in Ethiopia.
METHODS
Articles were systematically searched using comprehensive search strings from PubMed/Medline, SCOPUS, and grey literature from Google Scholar. Two reviewers assessed study eligibility, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias independently. Meta-analysis was performed using STATA v 14 to pool the vaccination uptake and mothers' willingness toward HPV vaccination in Ethiopia.
RESULTS
We included 10 articles published between 2019 and 2022 covering reports of 3,388 adolescent girls and 2,741 parents. All the included articles had good methodological quality. The pooled estimate of the proportion of good knowledge about HPV vaccination and the agreement of girls to get the vaccine was 60% (95%CI: 59-62) and 65% (95%CI: 64-67), respectively. The pooled estimate of vaccination uptake of at least one dose of HPV vaccine among girls was 55% (95%CI: 53-57). Positive attitudes to the vaccine, higher maternal education, and having knowledge about HPV and its vaccine were reported as statistically significant predictors. On the contrary, not having adequate information about the vaccine and concerns about possible side effects were reported as reasons to reject the vaccine. Likewise, the pooled estimate of mothers who were knowledgeable about HPV vaccination, who had a positive attitude, and willing to vaccinate their children were 38% (95%CI: 36-40) 58% (95%CI: 56-60), and 74% (95%CI: 72-75), respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
Knowledge about the HPV vaccine among girls and their vaccination uptake is suboptimal that falls short of the 2030 WHO targets. Therefore, stakeholders need major efforts in rolling out vaccination programs and monitoring their uptake. Social mobilization towards primary prevention of HPV infection should focus on adolescents. The existing strategies need to address the predictors of uptake by educating girls and parents.

BACKGROUND
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is often a consequence of a dysregulated immune response; therefore, immunomodulation by extracorporeal cytokine removal has been increasingly used as an adjuvant therapy, but convincing data are still missing. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of adjunctive hemoadsorption (HA) on clinical and laboratory outcomes in patients with ARDS.
METHODS
We performed a systematic literature search in PubMed, Embase, CENTRAL, Scopus, and Web of Science (PROSPERO: CRD42022292176). The population was patients receiving HA therapy for ARDS. The primary outcome was the change in PaO2/FiO2 before and after HA therapy. Secondary outcomes included the before and after values for C-reactive protein (CRP), lactate, interleukin-6 (IL-6), and norepinephrine (NE) doses.
RESULTS
We included 26 publications, with 243 patients (198 undergoing HA therapy and 45 controls). There was a significant improvement in PaO2/FiO2 ratio following HA therapy (MD = 68.93 [95%-CI: 28.79 to 109.06] mmHg, = 0.005) and a reduction in CRP levels (MD = -45.02 [95%-CI: -82.64; -7.39] mg/dL, = 0.026) and NE dose (MD = -0.24 [95%-CI: -0.44 to -0.04] μg/kg/min, = 0.028).
CONCLUSIONS
Based on our findings, HA resulted in a significant improvement in oxygenation and a reduction in NE dose and CRP levels in patients treated with ARDS. Properly designed RCTs are still needed.

There have been massive studies to develop an effective vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 which fortunately led to manage the recent pandemic, COVID-19. According to the quite rapidly developed vaccines in a fast window time, large investigations to assess the probable vaccine-related adverse events are crucially required. COVID-19 vaccines are available of different platforms and the primary clinical trials results presented acceptable safety profile of the approved vaccines. Nevertheless, the long-term assessment of the adverse events or rare conditions need to be investigated. The present systematic review, aimed at classification of probable vaccine-related unsolicited adverse events in Iranian population through the data collection of the published case report studies.The related published case reports were explored via PubMed, Web of Science and Google scholar according to the available published data up to 14 Dec, 2022 using PRISMA guideline. Out of 437 explored studies, the relevant data were fully investigated which totally led to 40 studies, including 64 case reports with a new onset of a problem post-vaccination. The cases were then classified according to the various items, such as the type of adverse event and COVID-19 vaccines.The reported COVID-19 vaccines in the studied cases included BBIBP-CorV, ChAdOx1-S, Sputnik V and COVAXIN. The results showed that the adverse events presented in 8 different categories, including cutaneous involvements in 43.7% (n = 28), neurologic problems (n = 16), blood/vessel involvement (n = 6), cardiovascular involvement (n = 5), ocular disorders (n = 4), liver disorder/failure (n = 2), graft rejection (n = 2) and one metabolic disorder. Notably, almost 60% of the cases had no comorbidities. Moreover, the obtained data revealed nearly half of the incidences occurred after the first dose of injection and the median duration of improvement after the symptom was 10 days (range: 2-120). In addition, 73% of all the cases were either significantly improved or fully recovered. Liver failure following ChAdOx1-S vaccination was the most serious vaccine adverse event which led to death in two individuals with no related medical history.Although the advantages of COVID-19 vaccination is undoubtedly significant, individuals including with a history of serious disease, comorbidities and immunodeficiency conditions should be vaccinated with the utmost caution. This study provides a comprehensive overview and clinical implications of possible vaccine-related adverse events which should be considered in further vaccination strategies. Nevertheless, there might be a bias regarding potential under-reporting and missing data of the case reports included in the present study. Although the reported data are not proven to be the direct vaccination outcomes and could be a possible immune response over stimulation, the people the population with a medium/high risk should be monitored after getting vaccinated against COVID-19 of any platforms. This could be achieved by a carefull attention to the subjects ' medical history and also through consulting with healthcare providers before vaccination.

Radiation therapy (RT) for choroidal metastasis (CM) aims to preserve vision and achieve local control (LC), thereby maintaining quality of life. The present study reports the clinical outcomes of RT for CM and reviews the literature.
METHODS
We retrospectively collected data on 11 patients with CM; their primary tumors were breast cancer (n=3), lung cancer (n=3), leukemia (n=2), lymphoma (n=2), and gastric cancer (n=1). Four patients had bilateral CM. The median radiation dose was 39 Gy in 13 fractions (range, 20-50 Gy in 10-25 fractions). We investigated changes in visual acuity, tumor responses, morbidities, LC, and overall survival (OS). A systematic review of literature published between 1990 and 2020 was performed using the PubMed database.
RESULTS
One, 1, and 6 patients had improved, stabilized, and worse visual acuity, respectively (data missing for 3 patients). Nevertheless, eight patients considered their visual acuity to have improved or remained the same after RT. Among 15 lesions in 11 patients, complete and partial responses were observed in 2 and 6, respectively (data missing for 7 lesions in 4 patients). Three-year LC and OS rates were 100 and 32%, respectively. Grade ≥ 3 morbidities were not observed. In the literature review, the most common primary cancer was breast cancer followed by lung cancer. Improvements in or the stabilization of visual acuity was observed in 80% of patients (range, 47-100), and the median survival time was 11 months (range, 4.9-23).
CONCLUSION
RT is an efficient and safe palliative treatment for CM without severe toxicity.

To determine whether allied health interventions delivered using telehealth provide similar or better outcomes for patients compared with traditional face-to-face delivery modes. A rapid systematic review using the Cochrane methodology to extract eligible randomized trials. Trials were eligible for inclusion if they compared a comparable dose of face-to-face to telehealth interventions delivered by a neuropsychologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, psychologist, and/or speech pathologist; reported patient-level outcomes; and included adult participants. MEDLINE, CENTRAL, CINAHL, and EMBASE databases were first searched from inception for systematic reviews and eligible trials were extracted from these systematic reviews. These databases were then searched for randomized clinical trials published after the date of the most recent systematic review search in each discipline (2017). The reference lists of included trials were also hand-searched to identify potentially missed trials. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool Version 1. Fifty-two trials (62 reports, = 4470) met the inclusion criteria. Populations included adults with musculoskeletal conditions, stroke, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and/or pain. Synchronous and asynchronous telehealth approaches were used with varied modalities that included telephone, videoconferencing, apps, web portals, and remote monitoring, Overall, telehealth delivered similar improvements to face-to-face interventions for knee range, Health-Related Quality of Life, pain, language function, depression, anxiety, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This meta-analysis was limited for some outcomes and disciplines such as occupational therapy and speech pathology. Telehealth was safe and similar levels of satisfaction and adherence were found across modes of delivery and disciplines compared to face-to-face interventions. Many allied health interventions are equally as effective as face-to-face when delivered via telehealth. Incorporating telehealth into models of care may afford greater access to allied health professionals, however further comparative research is still required. In particular, significant gaps exist in our understanding of the efficacy of telehealth from podiatrists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and neuropsychologists. The burden of non-adherence to anti-tuberculosis (TB) treatment is poorly understood. One type is early discontinuation, that is, stopping treatment early. Given the implications of early discontinuation for treatment outcomes, we undertook a systematic review to estimate its burden, using the timing of loss to follow-up (LFU) as a proxy measure.
METHODS
Web of Science, Embase and Medline were searched up to 14 January 2021 using terms covering LFU, TB and treatment. Studies of adults (≥ 18 years) on the standard regimen for drug-sensitive TB reporting the timing of LFU (WHO definition) were included. A narrative synthesis was conducted and quality assessment undertaken using an adapted version of Downs and Black. Papers were grouped by the percentage of those who were ultimately LFU who were LFU by 2 months. Three groups were created: <28.3% LFU by 2 months, ≥28.3-<38.3%, ≥38.3%). The percentage of dose-months missed due to early discontinuation among (1) those LFU, and (2) all patients was calculated.
RESULTS
We found 40 relevant studies from 21 countries. The timing of LFU was variable within and between countries. 36/40 papers (90.0%) reported the percentage of patients LFU by the end of 2 months. 31/36 studies (86.1%) reported a higher than or as expected percentage of patients becoming LFU by 2 months. The percentage of dose-months missed by patients who became LFU ranged between 37% and 77% (equivalent to 2.2-4.6 months). Among all patients, the percentage of dose-months missed ranged between 1% and 22% (equivalent to 0.1-1.3 months).
CONCLUSIONS
A larger than expected percentage of patients became LFU within the first 2 months of treatment. These patients missed high percentages of dose months of treatment due to early discontinuation. Interventions to promote adherence and retain patients in care must not neglect the early months of treatment.

Pesticides have been identified as major drivers of insect biodiversity loss. Thus, the study of their effects on non-pest insect species has attracted a lot of attention in recent decades. In general toxicology, the 'gold standard' to assess the toxicity of a substance is to measure mass-specific LD (i.e. median lethal dose per unit body mass). In entomology, reviews attempting to compare these data across all available studies are lacking. To fill this gap in knowledge, we performed a systematic review of the lethality of imidacloprid for adult insects. Imidacloprid is possibly the most extensively studied insecticide in recent times, yet we found that little is comparable across studies, owing to both methodological divergence and missing estimates of body mass. By accounting for body mass whenever possible, we show how imidacloprid sensitivity spans across an apparent range of approximately six orders of magnitude across insect species. Very high variability within species can also be observed owing to differences in exposure methods and observation time. We suggest that a more comparable and comprehensive approach has both biological and economic relevance. Ultimately, this would help to identify differences that could direct research towards preventing non-target species from being negatively affected.

BACKGROUND
Occurrences of relapse after 6-months post-treatment has been reported in recent Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) efficacy studies. A meta-analysis was carried out to quantify the proportion of relapses observed at and beyond 6-months using the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO) systematic review (SR) database.
METHODS
Studies in the IDDO SR database (1983-2021; 160 studies) were eligible for inclusion if follow-up was at least 6-months, relapse was clearly reported, and patients with HIV coinfections were excluded. Meta-analysis of single proportion was undertaken and the estimates were reported with 95% confidence intervals (CI).
FINDINGS
Overall, 131 studies enrolling 27,687 patients were included; 1193 patients relapsed. In the Indian sub-continent (ISC), relapse estimates at 6-months was 4.5% [95% CI: 2.6%-7.5%; = 66.2%] following single dose liposomal amphotericin B (L-AmB) and 1.5% [95% CI: 0.7%-3.3%; = 0%] for L-AmB in a combination therapy. In East Africa (EA), corresponding estimates were 3.8% [95% CI: 1.3%-10.9%; = 75.8%] following pentavalent antimony (PA), and 13.0% [95% CI: 4.3%-33.6%; = 0%] for PA + paromomycin. From 21 studies with follow-up longer than 6-months, 0.6% [95% CI: 0.2%-1.8%; = 0%] of patients relapsed after 6-months and estimated 27.6% [95% CI: 11.2%-53.4%; = 12%] of relapses would have been missed by a 6-month follow-up.
INTERPRETATION
The estimated relapse proportion ranged from 0.5% to 4.5% in ISC and 3.8%-13.0% in EA with the currently recommended drugs. Over one-quarter of relapses would be missed with 6-months follow-up suggesting a longer follow-up may be warranted.
