Alocasia macrorrhiza, which belongs to the Araceae family, is an important landscape plant in China, and has of significant medicinal uses. In 2022, A. macrorrhiza displaying abnormal symptoms were found in Qionghai, Hainan Island of China (110°23'3.06″,19°7'56.29″). The incidence of symptomatic plants was about 40% in the sampled areas. The abnormal symptoms included that the ovoid leaves color turned yellow from green gradually, with ovoid leaves chlorosis, mesophyll tissue yellowing, miniature leaves and systemic wilting. The diseased symptoms suspected to be associated with phytoplasma according to the protocols of phytoplasma identification. In order to identify the pathogen, eleven diseased samples and three asymptomatic samples were collected from an area of about 40 hectares. Total DNAs were extracted from 0.10 g fresh plant leaf tissues using a CTAB DNA extraction method. PCR amplifications were performed using primers R16mF2/R16mR1 and fTuf1/rTuf1 specific for the phytoplasma 16S rRNA and tuf genes. Target PCR amplicons were obtained from the DNA of 11 diseased samples, whereas not from the DNA of the asymptomatic samples. The PCR products were cloned and sequenced by Biotechnology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou, China), and the obtained sequences were assembled, edited and analyzed using the EditSeq program and DNAMAN version 6.0. The phytoplasma 16S rRNA and tuf gene amplicons were 1336 and 930 bp in length, respectively. The sequences of all 16S rRNA and tuf amplicons in this study were identical. The sequencing data were deposited in GenBank with accession numbers OR466206 (16S rDNA) and OR513090 (tuf). According to the methods and protocols of phytoplasma identified and classification, the phytoplasma strain was described as Alocasia macrorrhiza yellows (AmY) phytoplasma, AmY-hn strain. BLAST search were conducted based on 16Sr RNA and tuf genes. The results showed that the AmY-hn had 100 % 16Sr RNA sequence identity (1336 bp out of 1336 bp) with that of 16SrI-B subgroup phytoplasmas like onion yellows phytoplasma (OY-M, AP006628). The AmY-hn had 100 % tuf sequence identity (930 bp out of 930 bp) with that of 16SrI-B subgroup phytoplasmas like OY-M. RFLP profiles obtained with iPhyClassifier demonstrated that AmY-hn strain was a member of the 16SrI-B subgroup with a similarity coefficient 1.00 to the reference phytoplasma strain (AP006628). Separated phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA and tuf genes obtained with MEGA 7.0 using the neighbor-joining (NJ) method with 1000 bootstrap value indicated that AmY-hn clustered into one clade with phytoplasma strains of OY-M and chinaberry witches'-broom (KP662119) with 100 % and 87 % bootstrap value respectively. To our knowledge, this is the first report that a 'Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris'-related strain belonging to 16SrI-B subgroup infects A. macrorrhiza in China. The 16SrI-B subgroup 'Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris'-related strains can spread outwards through the plant A. macrorrhiza. Thus, the findings in the study will be beneficial to the detection of phytoplasmas which parasitic in this plant and the epidemic monitoring of the related diseases.

AIM
Adenomyoma is an exceptionally rare hamartoma in the small intestine. Few data have been reported on the features of this rare disease. The aim of this study was to describe the ultrasound (US) characteristics of small intestinal adenomyomas. Material and methods: This retrospective study analyzed the clinical features and US data of 15 pediatric patients diagnosed as small intestinal adenomyomas in the age range between 1 day to 12 years in our hospital during 2014-2021.
RESULTS
The clinical manifestations of all the small intestinal adenomyomas were abdominal pain, vomiting or/and hemafecia. The small intestinal adenomyoma usually acted as the lead point of secondary intussusception. They were identified in the ileum (n=11), jejunum (n=2), and Meckel's diverticulum (n=2). The diagnostic accuracy (the concordance rate between US diagnosis and pathological diagnosis) of small intestinal adenomyoma was 73.3%. The small intestinal adenomyoma had approximately 1.0-3.0 cm, were typically located in the submucosal region, had the basal part wide and without a pedicle, and its boundaries were clear. The mass protruded into the intestinal cavity, and showed oval hypoechoic polycystic echo nodules, containing multiple small quasi-circular or irregular cysts of different sizes surrounded by solid hypoechoic mosaic areas. The color Doppler US showed in the solid hypoechoic areas of the mass abundant or sparse blood flow signals. Conclusions The US findings of small intestinal adenomyomas in children are characteristic, and US is valuable in the identification of intestinal adenomyomas in children.

RATIONALE
An overdistended gallbladder is usually observed in cases of distal bile obstruction due to malignancy. The gallbladder may also become enlarged and distended during cystic duct or gallbladder neck obstruction due to gallstones. However, a grossly distended gallbladder ( > 14 cm in length) without any pathology is rare. We present the case of a 46-year-old female patient who suffered from acute right lower quadrant pain for 4 days. Initially, a liver cyst and a choledochal cyst were diagnosed by the local hospital. Then, the diagnosis of giant gallbladder (measuring approximately 20.0 cm × 7.0 cm and containing more than 30 gallbladder stones) was made by magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography at our hospital. Finally, we successfully performed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy and the patient had an uneventful recovery.
PATIENT CONCERNS
A 46-year-old female patient presented with acute right lower quadrant pain lasting 4 days. At first, the abdominal pain was severe and paroxysmal, and then it subsided spontaneously. Computed tomography of the abdomen at another hospital revealed a hepatic cyst and a choledochal cyst. Come to our hospital for surgical treatment.
DIAGNOSES
giant gallbladder with gallstones.
INTERVENTIONS
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was successfully performed in this patient after decompressing the gallbladder.
OUTCOMES
On the third postoperative day, the patient recovered well, and the abdominal pain resolved following the operation. At the 3-year postoperative follow-up, the patient was symptom-free, with no obvious abnormalities seen in liver function and hepatobiliary color Doppler ultrasound.
LESSONS
The patient was successfully treated using laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This rare case may contribute to the development of mechanisms for treating giant gallbladders.

BACKGROUND
Breast carcinoma (BC) threatens the physical and mental health of women worldwide, and early diagnosis is important for improving patient outcomes and ensuring successful treatment.
PURPOSE
This research mainly aims to compare and analyze the value of molybdenum target X-ray and high-frequency color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) in the early diagnosis of BC.
METHODS
First, 102 patients with suspected early-stage BC (ESBC) admitted to Henan Provincial People's Hospital were examined by molybdenum target X-ray and CDFI. Based on the pathological findings, the diagnostic efficiency data of the two diagnostic modalities such as positive detection rate (PDR), positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), sensitivity (SEN), specificity (SPE), and accuracy (ACC), as well as imaging information like masses, microcalcifications (MCs), axillary lymph node (LN) metastases, and blood flow signal or vascular sign abnormalities were analyzed.
RESULTS
CDFI contributed to higher PDR, PRV, NPV, SEN, and ACC than molybdenum target X-ray in ESBC diagnosis, but similar SPE. The combined diagnosis of molybdenum target X-ray plus CDFI contributed to even higher PDR, PRV, NPV, SEN, and ACC than molybdenum target X-ray alone and higher ACC than CDFI. Imaging inspection revealed that the number of cases of masses, axillary LN metastases, and abnormalities in blood flow signals or vascular signs detected by CDFI was significantly higher than that by molybdenum target X-ray, while the number of MCs was significantly lower.
CONCLUSION
Molybdenum target X-ray plus CDFI is more effective in the diagnosis of ESBC and plays a complementary role in imaging examination, which can synergistically improve the diagnostic ACC of ESBC and is worthy of clinical promotion.

Metastatic urothelial carcinoma of the renal pelvis (MUCP), a type of metastatic upper tract urothelial carcinoma (MUTUC), is a rare malignancy, and some patients with MUCP present with distant metastasis at the time of diagnosis. MUCP in the gastrointestinal tract is even rarer. Herein, we report a 78-year-old man with MUCP that presented as a duodenal ulcer. He complained of anorexia, dizziness, and melena for one month. Endoscopic examination at a local clinic revealed a duodenal hemorrhagic and ulcerative lesion, and the patient was referred. He noted dark-colored stools with increasing frequency, but he denied hematochezia, coffee ground emesis, weight changes, or abdominal pain. Gastroduodenoscopic examination at our hospital demonstrated an ulcerofungating lesion of the second portion of the duodenum. Colonoscopic findings showed no abnormality. Computed tomography showed a 6.7 cm sized mass abutting the inferior vena cava, second portion of the duodenum, lower pole of the right kidney, and right iliopsoas. The mass showed heterogeneous enhancement and internal hemorrhagic necrosis and infiltrated the perinephric soft tissues, the second portion of the duodenum, the right psoas muscle, the right renal vein, and the right adrenal gland. Duodenal biopsy showed moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) showed diffuse and strong positivity for CK5/6. Tissue from the liver biopsy showed similar histopathologic features and showed GATA3 positivity on IHC. The imprint cytology smears of the liver tissue showed "cercariform" cell features. We confirmed the diagnosis as MUCP. This case illustrated a rare cause of a secondary duodenal tumor, MUCP.

Achieving color-tunable emission in single-component organic emitters with multistage stimuli-responsiveness is of vital significance for intelligent optoelectronic applications, but remains enormously challenging. Herein, we present an unprecedented example of a color-tunable single-component smart organic emitter (DDOP) that simultaneously exhibits multistage stimuli-responsiveness and multimode emissions. DDOP based on a highly twisted amide-bridged donor-acceptor-donor structure has been found to facilitate intersystem crossing, form multimode emissions, and generate multiple emissive species with multistage stimuli-responsiveness. DDOP pristine crystalline powders exhibit abnormal excitation-dependent emissions from a monomer-dominated blue emission centered at 470 nm to a dimer-dominated yellow emission centered at 550 nm through decreasing the ultraviolet (UV) excitation wavelengths, whereas DDOP single crystals show a wide emission band with a main emission peak at 585 nm when excited at different wavelengths. The emission behaviors of pristine crystalline powders and single crystals are different, demonstrating emission features that are closely related to the aggregation states. The work has developed color-tunable single-component organic emitters with simultaneous multistage stimuli-responsiveness and multimode emissions, which is vital for expanding intelligent optoelectronic applications, including multilevel information encryption, multicolor emissive patterns, and visual monitoring of UV wavelengths

BACKGROUND
4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI) can assess and measure the complex flow patterns of the right ventricle (RV) in congenital heart diseases, but its limited availability makes the broad application of intracardiac flow assessment challenging. Color Doppler imaging velocity reconstruction from conventional echocardiography is an emerging alternative, but its validity against 4D flow MRI needs to be established.
OBJECTIVE
To compare intracardiac flow parameters measured by color Doppler velocity reconstruction (DoVeR) against parameters measured from 4D flow MRI.
METHODS
We analyzed 20 subjects, including 7 normal RVs and 13 abnormal RVs (10 with repaired Tetralogy of Fallot, and 3 with atrial-level shunts). Intracardiac flow parameters such as relative pressure difference, vortex strength, total kinetic energy, and viscous energy loss were quantified using DoVeR and 4D flow MRI. The agreement between the two methods was determined by comparing the spatial fields and quantifying the cross-correlation and normalized difference between time-series measurements.
RESULTS
The hemodynamic parameters obtained from DoVeR and 4D flow MRI showed similar flow characteristics and spatial distributions. The time evolutions of the parameters were also in good agreement between the two methods. The median correlation coefficient between the time-series of any parameter was between 0.87 and 0.92, and the median L2-norm deviation was between 10% to 14%.
CONCLUSIONS
Our study shows that DoVeR is a reliable alternative to 4D flow MRI for quantifying intracardiac hemodynamic parameters in the RV.

UNLABELLED
Wound healing monitoring for abnormality identification and intervention is crucial to securing a successful surgical outcome. Indices have been used to summarize the degree of healing. Given the increasing frequency of regenerative procedures which preserve dentition and implant stability, and the higher esthetic demands, an appraisal of the available indices is needed to identify the current knowledge gap. This study aimed to systematically review published oral wound healing indices and scores.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
A complete literature electronic search in 5 databases was conducted by two reviewers. A combination of keywords related to oral wound healing was used.
RESULTS
A total of 11 articles were included in the evaluation of various procedures (conventional periodontal procedures, guided tissue regeneration, soft tissue reconstruction procedures, and tooth extractions), at different time points (1 day to 12 weeks), with a focus on diverse clinical signs and symptoms. Frequently evaluated parameters included wound dehiscence/epithelialization (91%), tissue color (redness) (73%), suppuration (55%), swelling/edema (55%), and hemostasis (55%). Other less commonly used parameters include esthetics-related and patient-centered outcomes.
CONCLUSION
The available indices evaluate a diverse group of subjective clinical signs and symptoms to estimate the underlying biological healing events and assess the degree of clinical success. The majority of the included indices are not validated. Quantitative and objective subclinical parameters including blood perfusion, biomaterial stability, and completeness of epithelialization, are needed for customized wound healing care and better outcome prediction.

INTRODUCTION
This study utilized serum proteomics with tandem mass tags (TMT) to investigate potential biomarkers associated with femoral central venous catheter (CVC) thrombosis in endstage kidney disease (ESKD) patients. TMT proteomics analysis on serum samples was conducted to identify proteins with distinct expression levels that may be linked to thrombosis. The findings have important implications for enhancing anticoagulant procedures, catheter closure techniques, and determining optimal intervention timing for post-catheterization dialysis.
METHODS
Thirty ESKD patients with CVC receiving hemodialysis between May 2021 and October 2022 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College were included in the study, and grouped according to vascular color Doppler ultrasound results, including 23 patients in the thrombo-positive group and 7 patients in the thrombo-negative group. Selection criteria were: 1) Patients with ESKD candidate for hemodialysis initiation; 2) no dialysis access has been placed previously, and CVC needs to be inserted as a temporary access; 3) patients volunteered to participate in this clinical study. Clinical data, blood tests, coagulation function, and biochemical parameters were collected and analyzed on the 14th day after catheterization. Color ultrasonography was conducted on the same day to categorize patients into two groups: those with thrombus-positive results and those with thrombus-negative results.
RESULTS
TMT proteomics analysis identified twenty-eight differently expressed proteins, including 16 upregulated and 12 downregulated proteins. Enrichment analysis demonstrated nine proteins that were significantly enriched in four pathways within the thrombus-positive group after CVC insertion. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test confirmed the TMT proteomics findings, specifically highlighting significant differences in human plasma kallikrein B1 (KLKB1) and angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) levels on the 14th day after CVC insertion. Additionally, KLKB1, fibrinogen (FIB), D-dimer, and fibrinogen degradation products (FDP) levels were significantly elevated, while ANGPTL3 levels were decreased on the 14th day after CVC insertion in the thrombus-positive ESKD patient group.
CONCLUSION
Monitoring coagulation status post-CVC catheterization and evaluating potential biomarkers like KLKB1 and ANGPTL3 can contribute to the development of personalized treatment plans, improving the quality of hemodialysis and the overall quality of life for ESKD patients. DOI: 10.52547/ijkd.7671.

The use of artificial intelligence techniques with advanced computer vision techniques offers great potential for non-invasive health assessments in the poultry industry. Evaluating the condition of poultry by monitoring their droppings can be highly valuable as significant changes in consistency and color can be indicators of serious and infectious diseases. While most studies have prioritized the classification of droppings into two categories (normal and abnormal), with some relevant studies dealing with up to five categories, this investigation goes a step further by employing image processing algorithms to categorize droppings into six classes, based on visual information indicating some level of abnormality. To ensure a diverse dataset, data were collected in three different poultry farms in Lithuania by capturing droppings on different types of litter. With the implementation of deep learning, the object detection rate reached 92.41% accuracy. A range of machine learning algorithms, including different deep learning architectures, has been explored and, based on the obtained results, we have proposed a comprehensive solution by combining different models for segmentation and classification purposes. The results revealed that the segmentation task achieved the highest accuracy of 0.88 in terms of the Dice coefficient employing the K-means algorithm. Meanwhile, YOLOv5 demonstrated the highest classification accuracy, achieving an ACC of 91.78%.
