BACKGROUND
Acne is a prevalent inflammatory condition of the pilosebaceous unit, which seriously affects the appearance and mental health of patients. Bibliometrics is the statistical analysis of academic literature in a certain field. We aimed to characterize the 100 most cited articles on acne from a bibliometric perspective, as well as explore the frontier hotspots and trends of acne.
METHODS
A search was conducted on the Web of Science database on August 8, 2023. we employed the terms "acne," "acne Vulgaris," and "common acne" in our search. The top 100 articles with the most citations throughout the time frame of 2014 to 2023 were discovered and assessed. The visualization study was carried out using bibliometric tools such as CiteSpace 6.2.R4, VOSviewer 1.6.18, and MapChart.
RESULTS
The top 100 most cited articles were published between 2014 and 2021, originated from a diverse range of 48 countries, with a predominant focus on the United States of America (USA) and Germany. The top 100 papers were cited between 50 and 712 times. Dreno B, from Nantes University, was the most frequently nominated author. With 12 papers, the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology contributed the most to the top 100 list. Alongside the term "acne", the following terms or phrases were observed frequency in the top 100 articles, Cutibacterium acnes, sebaceous, western diet, antibiotic resistance, staphylococcus-epidermidis, insulinlike growth factor 1, benzoyl peroxide, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Alongside the term "acne", terms or phrases such as Cutibacterium acnes, sebaceous, western diet, antibiotic resistance, staphylococcus-epidermidis, insulinlike growth factor 1, benzoyl peroxide, and polyunsaturated fatty acids, etc also have a high frequency in the top 100 articles.
CONCLUSION
This analysis summarizes the shifting trends of acne research over the last decades. Research on acne is currently flourishing. The related pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies have been the focus of current research and developmental trends in future research.

The two major challenges in cancer treatment are reducing the side effects and minimizing the cost of cancer treatment. A better therapy to treat cancer remains to be developed despite the presence of many therapeutic options. Here, we present bacterial therapy for treating cancer using tumor-isolated Cutibacterium acnes, which is safe to use, has minimal side effects compared to chemotherapeutic drugs, and most importantly, targets the tumor microenvironment due to the bacterium's anaerobic nature. It activates the immune system, and the immune cells effectively penetrate through the tumor tissue and form an immunologic hub inside, explicitly targeting the tumor and destroying the cells. This bacterial therapy is a new cost-effective innovative treatment.

In this article, we present the case of a 47-year-old man who underwent Bentall-Bono procedure and frozen elephant trunk prosthesis implantation due to severe aortic regurgitation and aortic dilatation with a second-time endovascular stent-graft repair in descending aorta. Over eight years, a subacute graft infection by Propionibacterium acnes was developed, culminating in cardiogenic shock secondary to severe aortic regurgitation due to a complete aortic root dehiscence because of multiple aortic pseudoaneurysms. The patient underwent emergency surgery in which the replacement of the graft by a biological valve tube was performed accompanied by a complete debranching of the three supra-aortic vessels.

We identified a fragment (Domain 3-D3) of the immunodominant sporozoite surface glycoprotein of the zoonotic parasite Cryptosporidium gp900, which is absent C. hominis and C. parvum anthroponosum. The fragment is highly antigenic and is able to effectively differentiate between zoonotic C. parvum and species/genotypes that infect preferentially humans. D3 detection provides a serological tool to determine whether the source of human cryptosporidiosis is of animal or human origin. We demonstrate this in experimentally challenged piglets, mice, rats, and alpaca. We speculate that the absence of this fragment from the C. hominis and C. parvum anthroponosum gp900 protein may play a key role in their host restriction.

The discovery and investigation of new natural compounds with antimicrobial activity are new potential strategies to reduce the spread of antimicrobial resistance. The presented study reveals, for the first time, the promising antibacterial potential of two fractions from mucus with an MW < 20 kDa and an MW > 20 kDa against five bacterial pathogens- 1085, 1897, 8691, 3915, and 8754. Using de novo sequencing, 16 novel peptides with potential antibacterial activity were identified in a fraction with an MW < 20 kDa. Some bioactive compounds in a mucus fraction with an MW > 20 kDa were determined via a proteomic analysis on 12% sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and bioinformatics. High homology with proteins and glycoproteins was found, with potential antibacterial activity in mucus proteins named aspernin, hemocyanins, H-lectins, and L-amino acid oxidase-like protein, as well as mucins (mucin-5AC, mucin-5B, mucin-2, and mucin-17). We hypothesize that the synergy between the bioactive components determined in the composition of the fraction > 20 kDa are responsible for the high antibacterial activity against the tested pathogens in concentrations between 32 and 128 µg/mL, which is comparable to vancomycin, but without cytotoxic effects on model eukaryotic cells of . Additionally, a positive effect, by reducing the levels of intracellular oxidative damage and increasing antioxidant capacity, on cells was found for both mucus extract fractions of . These findings may serve as a basis for further studies to develop a new antibacterial agent preventing the development of antibiotic resistance.

OBJECTIVE
To investigate the early effectiveness of the limited unique coracoid osteotomy suture button fixation Latarjet (LU-tarjet)-congruent-arc (CA) technique (LU-tarjet-CA) in treating recurrent shoulder dislocations with huge glenoid defect.
METHODS
The clinical data of 12 patients with recurrent shoulder dislocation and huge glenoid defect who met the selection criteria and treated with arthroscopic LU-tarjet-CA between January 2021 and December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The cohort included 8 males and 4 females, aged 20-40 years with an average age of 30.4 years. The range of glenoid bone loss was 30%-40%, with an average of 35.5%. The time from symptom onset to hospital admission ranged from 1 to 36 months, with an average of 18.5 months. The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) score, American Association for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (ASES) score, Walch-Duplay score, and Rowe score were used to evaluate shoulder function preoperatively and at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. CT three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction was used to assess coracoid healing and plasticity at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. Subjective satisfaction of patient was recorded at last follow-up.
RESULTS
All incisions healed by first intention, with no incision infection or nerve injury. All 12 patients were followed up 12 months. One patient developed infection within the joint postoperatively and recovered after initial arthroscopic debridement and anti-inflammatory treatment. At 3 months after operation, CT 3D-reconstruction showed 1 case of complete coracoid absorption; neither of these two patients experienced redislocation. The remaining patients exhibited partial coracoid absorption but displayed local reshaping, filling the preoperative defect area, and bony fusion between the coracoid and the glenoid. At last follow-up, 9 patients (75%) were very satisfied with the outcome, and 3 patients (25%) were satisfied; the satisfied patients experienced postoperative shoulder stiffness caused by suboptimal functional exercise but did not have impaired daily life activities. The UCLA score, ASES score, Walch-Duplay score, and Rowe score at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively were significantly better than preoperative scores, and each score improved further over time postoperatively, with significant differences between different time points ( <0.05).
CONCLUSION
The arthroscopic LU-tarjet-CA technique for treating recurrent shoulder dislocations with huge glenoid defect can achieve the surgical objective of bony blockade and filling bone defects to prevent shoulder dislocation, thereby improving patients' quality of life and shoulder joint function and stability.

We report a case of chest wall resection for painful chest wall nonunion, 5 years after traumatic flail chest and a first attempt at surgical treatment. The decision was made to perform surgery again after 2 years of unsuccessful well-conducted analgesic treatment. During surgery, we found the same sites of pseudarthrosis and decided to perform parietectomy of the fifth, sixth, and seventh ribs. A Gore-Tex patch was used to bridge the gap created by the resection. In immediate postoperative care, the patient's pain was quickly and sufficiently eased by stage 1 and 2 pain killers. The results of bone samples taken from the pseudarthrosis sites all found . Five months after surgery, the patient had considerable improvement in pain sensations. Computed tomography showed healing of ribs, the plate in place, and no sign of complications.

The increasing prevalence of antibiotic resistance in Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) requires the search for alternative therapeutic strategies. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) offer a promising avenue for the development of new treatments targeting C. acnes. In this study, to design peptides with the specific inhibitory activity against C. acnes, we employed a deep learning pipeline with generators and classifiers, using transfer learning and pretrained protein embeddings, trained on publicly available data. To enhance the training data specific to C. acnes inhibition, we constructed a phylogenetic tree. A panel of 42 novel generated linear peptides was then synthesized and experimentally evaluated for their antimicrobial selectivity and activity. Five of them demonstrated their high potency and selectivity against C. acnes with MIC of 2-4 µg/mL. Our findings highlight the potential of these designed peptides as promising candidates for anti-acne therapeutics and demonstrate the power of computational approaches for the rational design of targeted antimicrobial peptides.

To evaluate the effectiveness of orthodontics in combination with porcelain laminate veneers (PLV) in the aesthetic restoration and flora regulation of anterior teeth. A retrospective analysis of 336 patients who underwent aesthetic restoration of anterior teeth in our hospital from April 2019 to September 2022 was performed and divided into a control group (n = 168) and an observation group (n = 168) according to the restorative modality. The restorative modality in the control group was conventional restorative remediation, while the restorative modality in the observation group was orthodontic combined with PLV treatment. To evaluate the excellent rate of aesthetic restoration of anterior teeth in the 2 groups, and compare the color, shape, degree of translucency, edge aesthetic score, complications and satisfaction rate of restoration of anterior teeth in the 2 groups before and after restoration. The observation group had a significantly higher rate of excellent aesthetic restorations (95.23%) compared to the control group (80.95%) (P < .001). The scores of anterior tooth color, morphology, degree of translucency and marginal aesthetics were improved in both groups after restoration compared to before restoration, and the scores were significantly higher in the observation group (P < .05). After restoration, the subgingival Digestive streptococcus, Campylobacter and Propionibacterium increased in both groups, but the number of bacterial strains was significantly less in the observation group (P < .05). Compared with the total complication rate in the control group (16.66%), the total complication rate in the observation group (2.38%) was significantly lower (P < .001). Compared with the control group (85.71%), the observation group had a significantly higher restoration satisfaction rate of 97.61%, with a statistically significant difference (P < .001). The application of orthodontics combined with PLV in the aesthetic restoration of anterior teeth has a significant clinical effect, which is conducive to improving the aesthetic restoration and satisfaction rate of anterior teeth, reducing the subgingival microbial imbalance and decreasing the incidence of complications.

, a commensal bacterium found on human skin, formerly known as , rarely causes infections and is generally considered non-pathogenic. Recent research has revealed the transferability of the multidrug-resistant plasmid pTZC1 between and , the latter being an opportunistic pathogen in surgical site infections. However, there is a noticeable lack of research on the genome of , and the genetic landscape of this species remains largely uncharted. We investigated the genomic features and evolutionary structure of by analyzing a total of 30 Metagenome-Assembled Genomes (MAGs) and isolate genomes retrieved from public databases, as well as those generated in this study. A pan-genome of 6,077 genes was identified for . Remarkably, the 'cloud genes' constituted 62.38% of the pan-genome. Genes associated with mobilome: prophages, transposons [X], defense mechanisms [V] and replication, recombination and repair [L] were enriched in the cloud genome. Phylogenomic analysis revealed two distinct mono-clades, highlighting the genomic diversity of . The genomic diversity was further confirmed by the distribution of Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) values. The functional profiles analysis of unveiled a wide range of potential Antibiotic Resistance Genes (ARGs) and virulence factors, suggesting its potential tolerance to various environmental challenges. Subtype I-E of the CRISPR-Cas system was the most abundant in these genomes, a feature also detected in genomes. Given the widespread distribution of strains within skin microbiome, our findings make a substantial contribution to our broader understanding of the genetic diversity, which may open new avenues for investigating the mechanisms and treatment of conditions such as acne vulgaris.
