Abomasal ulcers, an economic concern for all calf-raising farms, are usually silent until perforation occurs, at which time management is complicated and often unrewarding. This case study describes perforating ulcer in a 3-day-old Brahman heifer, occurring secondary to a congenital narrowing of the pylorus and proximal duodenum and leading to marked abomasal distention, leakage, and eventual peritonitis and sepsis.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether retention of a post-pyloric Dobhoff tube (DHT) in position to serve as a visual guide through the pylorus during gastrojejunostomy (GJ) tube placement results in a reduction in fluoroscopy time, procedure time, and estimated radiation dose. A retrospective study evaluated patients who underwent GJ tube placement or gastric to GJ conversion from January 1, 2017, to April 1, 2021. Demographic and procedural data were collected, and results were evaluated using descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing through an unpaired Student's t-test. Of the 71 GJ tube placements included for analysis, 12 patients underwent placement with a post-pyloric DHT in position, and 59 patients underwent placement without a post-pyloric DHT in position. The mean fluoroscopy time and estimated radiation dose were significantly reduced in patients who underwent GJ tube placement with a post-pyloric DHT in position compared with those without (7.08 min vs. 11.02 min, = 0.004; 123.12 mGy vs. 255.19 mGy, = 0.015, respectively). The mean total procedure time was also reduced in patients who underwent GJ tube placement with a post-pyloric DHT in position compared with those who had no post-pyloric DHT, but this finding lacked statistical significance (18.55 min vs. 23.15 min; = 0.09). Post-pyloric DHT retention can be utilized during GJ tube placement to reduce radiation exposure to both the patient and interventionalist.

A 68-year-old male presented to the Emergency Department with a one-month history of intermittent epigastrium pain. Laboratory tests revealed leukocytosis and elevated lipase (4129 UI/l), with normal liver function, so he was admitted for its first episode of acute pancreatitis. Abdominal ultrasound showed liver steatosis, without cholelithiasis or bile duct dilatation. A thoraco-abdominal computed tomography was performed, revealing a pedunculated gastric polyp in lesser curvature measuring 64x38mm with no evidence of metastatic disease. Gastroscopy was performed, showing a 7-cm pedunculated gastric polyp prolapsed through the pylorus into the duodenum. The polyp was moved into the stomach, and a fragmented resection of the polyp was carried out with a hot snare. Histopathologic evaluation was compatible with hyperplastic polyp with low-grade dysplasia. The patient had a favourable evolution with no complications after the procedure.

Pancreatic hamartoma is a benign tumor of the pancreas with an extremely low incidence and is commonly diagnosed by pathologic examination after surgery. This report describes the case of a 57-year-old female who was referred for the evaluation of a pancreatic mass and an adrenal incidentaloma. Further imaging studies suggested pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor and aldosterone-producing adrenal tumor. Pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed with the initial impression of a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. However, pathology results revealed a pancreatic hamartoma. Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 syndrome was discussed as a probable explanation for tumor masses in both the pancreas and adrenal gland.

INTRODUCTION
Bezoars are masses of indigestible foreign material in the gastrointestinal tract, usually in the stomach. These materials could be indigestible fruits, hair, milk products, or tablets. In children, the most common type of bezoar is trichobezoar (formed from hair).
CASE PRESENTATION
We describe a female patient who has been complaining about deterioration of mood, collapse without losing consciousness, scotomas, and cardiac arrhythmia for 2 years. Based on the results of thyroid hormone, resistance to thyroid hormone (RTH) was suspected. Physical examination during hospitalization revealed a palpable upper abdominal mass. Several diagnostic examinations were performed. The abdominal ultrasound showed acoustic shadowing caused by a pathological structure in the upper abdomen. Therefore, the contrast X-ray of the digestive tract revealed a deficit of contrast with an irregular shape in the stomach body and the pylorus region. Due to these results, a gastroscopy was performed, which revealed a large trichobezoar of the stomach. The trichobezoar was surgically removed without complications.
CONCLUSION
The case presented shows that these nonspecific symptoms and laboratory test suggesting RTH require multi-path diagnostics and the cooperation of many specialists, ultimately giving a surprising diagnosis. It is crucial to interpret diagnostic examinations with regard to the patient's physical condition. Diagnosis of trichobezoar requires a detailed search of causes to avoid another incident.

Axolotls (Ambystoma mexicanum) are extensively studied for their relevance in human medical research. Despite being critically endangered in the wild, they have gained popularity as household pets. Although they have been kept in captivity for over a century, detailed descriptions of their coelomic organ anatomy remain limited. Also, this species exhibits significant variations compared to other amphibians. Ultrasound is a non-invasive and painless medical imaging technique, ideally suited for investigating internal organs or structures. This study focused on describing the ultrasound appearance of the axolotl coelomic cavity. It details the identification, localization and parenchymal description of major organs in 28 neotenic axolotls using ultrasound frequencies ranging from 7 to 15 MHz. The accuracy of the results was validated by comparing ultrasound findings with necropsy results from one male and one female axolotl. The heart, lung surface, liver and reproductive tracts were visualized. Measurements, along with confidence intervals, were calculated for the spleen, kidneys, testicles, gastric wall, gallbladder, and pylorus. Occasional detection of hyperechoic millimetric particles in the gallbladder or ascites was noted. However, visualization of the pancreas and bladder was not possible. This research outcomes involve the development of a comprehensive atlas comprising images obtained throughout the study. Additionally, the experiment established a reproducible and readily accessible protocol for conducting anatomy-morphological assessments in axolotl medicine. This protocol stands as a crucial preliminary stage before advancing to lesion identification.

Nervous systems have evolved to function consistently in the face of the normal environmental fluctuations experienced by animals. The stomatogastric nervous system (STNS) of the crab, , produces a motor output that has been studied for its remarkable robustness in response to single global perturbations. Changes in environments, however, are often complex and multifactorial. Therefore, we studied the robustness of the pyloric network in the stomatogastric ganglion (STG) in response to simultaneous perturbations of temperature and pH. We compared the effects of elevated temperatures on the pyloric rhythm at control, acid, or base pHs. In each pH recordings were made at 11°C, and then the temperature was increased until the rhythms became disorganized ("crashed"). Pyloric burst frequencies and phase relationships showed minor differences between pH groups until reaching close to the crash temperatures. However, the temperatures at which the rhythms were disrupted were lower in the two extreme pH conditions. This indicates that one environmental stress can make an animal less resilient to a second stressor. Resilience to environmental fluctuations is important for all animals. It is common that animals encounter multiple stressful events at the same time, the cumulative impacts of which are largely unknown. This study examines the effects of temperature and pH on the nervous system of crabs that live in the fluctuating environments of the Northern Atlantic Ocean. The ranges of tolerance to one perturbation, temperature, are reduced under the influence of a second, pH.

Margin-negative minimally invasive pancreatoduodenectomy following FOLFIRINOX neoadjuvant chemotherapy in invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of pancreas: a case report.
This study shows a case of neoadjuvant chemotherapy application for the management of a 34-year-old male patient diagnosed with invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN), for which curative margin-negative resection initially seemed challenging. Five cycles of the FOLFIRINOX regimen (5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin) were administered preoperatively, resulting in a significant reduction of the intraductal mass size and deformity of the main vessels. The patient subsequently underwent a successful robotic pylorus-preserving pancreatoduodenectomy. Postoperatively, the patient received adjuvant chemotherapy with FOLFIRINOX, and after 5 months, showed no signs of tumor recurrence or specific complications. These findings suggest that neoadjuvant therapy can be a potentially effective strategy even in advanced invasive IPMN. Further research is necessary to establish guidelines for its application.

Pyloric stenosis commonly affects infants and rarely causes gastric outlet obstruction in adolescents and older children. We present the case of an 11-year-old girl with a 2-month history of recurrent postprandial vomiting and weight loss. On physical examination, the patient presented with abdominal distension. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a very small pyloric orifice through which the endoscope could not be advanced. Abdominal ultrasonography and a computed tomography confirmed pylorus thickening. She underwent Heineke-Mikulicz pyloroplasty with symptom resolution.

Gastric volvulus is a rare condition determined by the rotation of one part of stomach around another. Stomach can rotate around its longitudinal or short axis or both. The presentation can be acute, subacute and chronic due to twisting and untwisting andimaging should be performed in the acute phase. MDCT shows high accuracy in thediagnosis and definition of gastric volvulus being the preferred diagnostic test in emergency settings. Gastric volvulus may be associated or determined by pre-existing hiatal hernia and accurate analysis of CT signs may be evaluated on order to differentiate between a stomach in an abnormal position and a volvulus.At CT, a displaced antrum at the same level or cranial to the fundus and a transition point at the pylorus is diagnostic for mesenteroaxial volvulus. We present a case of a 70 years old woman with mesenteroaxial volvulus in hiatal hernia.
