It is often used as a windbreak tree species in rubber plantations, a highway shade tree, for coastal and mountain restoration in Hainan . In October 2021, a stem rot disease with an incidence of 3% was found in Baisha city(19°22'18″N,109°16'58″E), Hainan Province, China. In the early stage of the disease, the crown showed chlorotic leaves, followed by defoliation. In later stages, whole tree dieback was observed. The basal tissue of the stem of the diseased tree had white rot, and black-brown basidiocarps were observed about 1 m away from the ground. The basidiocarps surface of fresh was disinfected with 75 % ethanol, the epidermal tissue was removed, and the inner tissue blocks were transferred to PDA medium. After culturing in dark at 28°C for 3 days, a colony with white aerial mycelium was isolated and designated: HNBSMZXS20211011001. The basidiocarp was dark brown, sessile, mostly one-year-old, and the cap is nearly semi-circular, wooden, slightly shiny, with a size of 14.7 to 18.1cm × 9.5 to 10.1 cm. The base is thick (5 to 6.5 cm) and the edge is thin (0.3 to 0.7 cm). The basidiospores are oval, 10.7 to 13.65μm × 6.7 to 9.06μm in size, with a double-layer wall. The outer wall is transparent and the inner wall is light yellow. The basidiospores contain 1~2 oil droplets. The morphological features are consistent with those of (Murrill) Corner (Zhang et al., 2000). The basidiocarps and type strain cultures were stored as accessions in the Laboratory of Plant Pathogen Fungus Biology, Hainan University. For pathogenicity tests, sawdust culture medium was used (soft sawdust 82%, wheat bran 15%, glucose 2%, gypsum 1%, mixed with water in proportion, sterilized at 121°C for 40min). The mycelium plug from a fresh culture (d=5mm) was taken from the edge of the colony of type strain, and transferred to the sterilized sawdust medium. When mycelium has colonized the media, it was used to inoculate plants. Media without mycelium was used as a control. Naturally growing seedlings (three year old) of were selected from the teaching nurseries of Hainan University (20°6'25''N,110°32'24''E). First, 75 % alcohol was sprayed on the stem of the base of for surface disinfection. After the surface was dried, a slight wound (about 4×2cm) was made on the surface with a sterilized scalpel. A inoculated and control sawdust media rods were tightly attached to the wound, moistened with cotton balls soaked in sterile water, and then fixed with plastic wrap, and the outer layer was wrapped with newsprint. Inoculation and controls were replicated three times. Two months after inoculated, the stems of the plants inoculated with the isolated fungus grew white hyphae and showed white rot symptoms, and the leaves became chlorotic and defoliated with complete tree decline in six months, which was consistent with the original symptoms observed. By comparison, white callus had grown on the edge of the stem wounds of the control plants. The same fungus was re-isolated from the inoculated plants and confirmed as based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), the ribosomal large subunit(LSU), and the translation elongation factor 1-α(EF1-α) gene sequence, the fungus was not isolated from control plants thus fulfilling Koch's postulates. The ITS region of r-DNA, the ribosomal large subunit(LSU), the translation elongation factor 1-α gene(EF1-α) were amplified using ITS1/ITS4(White et al. 1990), LR0R/LR5(Hu et al. 2021), EF1-983F/EF1-1567R(Buckley et al. 2005) primers, respectively. The sequences of ITS (OQ674500), LSU (OQ674502) and EF1-α gene (OQ883944) were submitted to GenBank. Through with BLAST, the identities of the ITS, LSU and EF1-α sequences to (GenBank Accession no. ITS: LC176755; LSU: MK119903 and EF1-α: MK121572) was 99.82%; 99.15% and 99.82%, respectively, the identities were more than 99 %. It was reported that could infect and (Chen et al., 2016; Cheng. 2017; Wu et al., 2019). However, this is the first report of causing stem rot of in Hainan, China. This report will facilitate field diagnosis and provide scientific reference for further research on the disease.

BACKGROUND
There are different surgical techniques to remove Oral mucoceles, including conventional surgery with scalpel, removal of the lesion with CO2 laser, and micro marsupialization. The present systematic review was conducted with the aim of comparing the recurrence rate of different surgical techniques for treatment of the oral mucoceles.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
An electronic search for randomized controlled trials published in English until September 2022 related to different surgical methods for the treatment of oral mucocele was performed in Medline/PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase and Cochrane databases. A random-effects meta-analysis was conducted to compare the recurrence rate of different techniques.
RESULTS
Among 1204 papers initially identified, after the removal of duplicate articles and screening of the titles and abstracts, fourteen full-text articles were reviewed. Seven articles comparing the recurrence rate of oral mucocele in different surgical techniques were found. Seven studies were included in qualitative studies, and five articles were included in the meta-analysis. The risk of mucocele recurrence in the micro-marsupialization technique was 1.30 times that of the surgical excision with scalpel technique, which was not statistically significant. The risk of mucocele recurrence in the CO2 Laser Vaporization technique was 0.60 times that of the Surgical Excision with Scalpel technique, which was not statistically significant.
CONCLUSIONS
The results of this systematic review showed that there is no significant difference between the recurrence rate of surgical excision, CO2 laser and marsupialization techniques for the treatment of oral mucoceles. Although more randomized clinical trials are needed for definitive results.

BACKGROUND
Microleakage is a common problem that affects the quality and longevity of all-ceramic crowns. It is influenced by factors such as the resin cement, crown margin design and curing technique. However, few studies focus on the effect of different methods of removing excess resin adhesive on the microleakage of all-ceramic crowns. This study aimed to compare two methods of removing excess resin adhesive (the small brush and sickle methods) on the microleakage of all-ceramic crowns with different marginal clearances.
METHODS
Forty extracted third molars were prepared with a 90° shoulder margin and randomly divided into four groups according to their marginal lift (30, 60, 90 or 0 μm). Procera alumina crowns were fabricated using computer-aided design/computer-aided modelling and cemented onto the teeth with 3 M RelyX Unicem (3 M Company, United States) resin cement. Excess resin cement was removed by either the small brush or the sickle scalpel method. The marginal adaptation was observed with a digital microscope. After thermal cycling of the teeth, microleakage was assessed using the dye penetration test under a stereomicroscope. The Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used to compare the microleakage scores among different groups.
RESULTS
The small-brush group showed significantly better marginal adaptation and lower microleakage scores than the sickle group (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the microleakage score (grade 0) among different marginal clearances within each group (p > 0.05).
CONCLUSION
The small-brush method was more effective than the sickle scalpel method in reducing the microleakage of all-ceramic crowns with different marginal clearances. This method can improve the marginal adaptation and sealability of all-ceramic crowns, thus preventing secondary caries and other complications.

Adult-onset lymphatic malformations arising at the postcricoid, a subsite of the hypopharynx, are sporadic. Only one case has been previously reported. In this study, we presented a 36-year-old female presented with globus sensation, dysphagia, and upper airway obstruction, requiring a tracheostomy. A computed tomography scan identified a 5 cm × 4.5 cm × 3 cm multilocular hypodense lesion in the postcricoid. Due to its considerable size, complete resection with function preservation was crucial, and a standard microscopic direct laryngoscopy approach may result in inadequate exposure, while an open transcervical approach may affect functional outcomes and increase surgical complications. We successfully performed an en bloc resection with a transoral endoscopic approach, using laryngeal suspension and a laparoscopic ultrasonic scalpel to preserve aerodigestive functions, ensure rapid recovery, and avoid neck scarring. The patient was decannulated within 2 weeks and remained disease-free after 1 year. The reported cases of adult-onset lymphatic malformations at the postcricoid and hypopharynx were reviewed and summarized for educational purposes.

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) refers to an acquired benign proliferation most commonly seen within the oral cavity involving lips, palate, and gingiva. The term is misleading since it is a type of lobular capillary haemangioma but not an infection. It frequently recurs but lacks the capacity for malignant alteration. Depending on where the PG is located, one may experience discomfort or irritation. PGs often lead to differential diagnoses by clinicians, which include capillary hemangioma, neurofibroma, melanoma, and hyperplasia. Therefore, one must confirm a PG by diagnosing and analysing it by clinical and histopathological examinations, and treatment options should be formulated according to the evaluation. Sometimes, a biopsy of the lesion can be taken for final diagnosis. Various treatment approaches are available, including conventional scalpel excision, laser, electrocautery, and cryotherapy. Surgical excision is preferable due to the likelihood of malignancy, as it provides the best cosmetic appearance and produces a specimen for pathologic assessment. After confirming all the clinical evaluatory parameters and routine haematological examinations, which proved satisfactory and within normal ranges, this case of a 45-year-old female with soft tissue growth of the gingival origin was managed by electrocautery, and the PG was confirmed by a clinical-histopathological examination.

The aim of this study was to assess the surface and tissue quality of keratinized mucosa grafts (KMG) obtained using the conventional scalpel and mucotome techniques. This was an experimental in vitro/ex vivo study involving six porcine hemi-mandibles. Specimens were harvested using both the mucotome and conventional scalpel techniques, with randomization determining the choice of technique for tissue removal. The specimens were prepared following predefined laboratory protocols and subsequently subjected to optical microscopy for evaluating epithelial and connective tissue and scanning electron microscopy for topographical and 3D profilometry analysis. Tissues harvested using the mucotome exhibited a linear base and uniform thickness, along with the presence of submucosa and fibrous connective tissue, all of which are ideal for graft success. Differences in the surface characteristics of specimens obtained through the two techniques were observed during a comparative analysis of images obtained through both microscopy types. KMG obtained using the mucotome technique displayed greater uniformity and reduced undesirable cell presence compared to the scalpel technique, thereby enhancing the likelihood of success in soft tissue graft surgical procedures. This study provides valuable insights to oral healthcare professionals and may contribute to future research aimed at achieving more successful surgeries, shorter postoperative recovery times, reduced discomfort, and an overall more positive patient experience.

BACKGROUND
Periapical surgery is a complex dental procedure that remains a considerable challenge in clinical practice. The use of APRF+ membranes and piezoelectric osteotomy help to improve outcomes and increase the efficiency and speed of recovery.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
This case report describes a 20 years-old man with a periapical lesion which perforated the lingual cortex in a lower mandibular molar. A periapical surgery was performed with endoscope magnification and ultrasonic osteotomy. Apicectomy and retrograde cavities were performed using a piezoelectric scalpel and sealed using a bioceramic sealer. The osteolytic defect was filled with A-PRF+ membranes and the bone cortex was repositioned trough a micro-screw.
RESULTS
The histological analysis concluded an inflammatory odontogenic cyst. The postoperative period was uneventful with pain and mild oedema until the fourth day. Short-term follow-up showed the beginnings of bone regeneration and correct healing of the surgery without periodontal defects. Two-year follow-up showed favorable results and regeneration of the bone defect.
CONCLUSIONS
Periapical surgery with magnification, ultrasonic osteotomy repositioning and application of A-PRF+ membranes as an adjuvant proved to be an effective approach for the regeneration of the osteolytic process, allowing the preservation of the tooth. Promising short and long-term results were shown for this case report. Periapical surgery, osteotomy, ultrasound, A-PRF+.

Study of MIC of silver and zinc oxide nanoparticles, strong and cost-effective antibacterial against biofilm-producing Acinetobacter baumannii in Shiraz, Southwest of Iran.
BACKGROUND
Acinetobacter baumannii resistant strains lead to increased mortality, treatment costs, and an increase in the length of hospitalization. Nowadays, nanoparticles are considered a substitute for antibiotics. This study aimed to determine the MIC of Silver (Ag) and Zinc Oxide (ZnO) Nanoparticles (NPs) on Biofilm-Producing Acinetobacter baumannii and determine the relationship between MIC and frequency of efflux pump genes in cutaneous specimens in Shiraz, Southwest Iran in 2021-2022.
METHODS
In this study, specimens were collected from April 2021 to June 2022 at Namazi and Faqihi Hospitals in Shiraz. Investigation of biofilm production in multidrug resistance (MDR) isolates was done by the microtiter plate method. Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by UV-vis spectrum, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and electron microscopy. The MIC of AgNPs and ZnONPs for isolates was done using the method described in the CLSI guideline (2018). The antibacterial effect of MIC of NPs on inanimate objects was done by colony counts. The prevalence of efflux pump genes (adeR, adeC, adeA, abeM, adeK, adeI) was also investigated by PCR technique.
RESULTS
The highest ceftriaxone resistance (68%) and lowest colistin resistance (7%) were identified. 57% of isolates were MDR. In addition, 71.9% could produce biofilm and 28.1% of isolates could not produce biofilm. The average size of AgNPs and ZnONPs in the present study is 48 and < 70 nm, respectively. The nanoparticles were spherical. The MIC and the MBC of the ZnONPs were in the range of 125 to 250 µg/mL respectively. Also, for AgNPs, the MIC and the MBC were in the range of 62.5 to 250 µg/ml, respectively. AbeM gene had the highest frequency and the AdeK gene had the lowest frequency. Statistical analysis showed that there is a relationship between the frequency of adeA, adeC, and adeM genes with the MIC of AgNPs and ZnONPs.
CONCLUSION
According to the results of the present study, inanimate objects such as scalpels in contact with AgNPs (6000 µg/ml for 240 min) or ZnONPs (5000 µg/ml for 120 min) can be free of biofilm producing Acinetobacter baumannii with efflux pump genes.

10,600 nm High Level-Laser Therapy Dosimetry in Management of Unresponsive Persistent Peripheral Giant Cell Granuloma to Standard Surgical Approach: A Case Report with 6-Month Follow-Up.
Peripheral giant cell granuloma (PGCG) is a non-neoplastic, tumour-like reactive lesion that exclusively involves the gingiva and/or the alveolar crest. The surgical approach with a scalpel has been the golden standard of treatment for PGCG, but the scientific literature reports a high rate of lesion recurrence. Hence, this unique case report aimed to evaluate the efficacy of 10,600 nm high-level laser therapy (HLLT) in eradicating persistent, aggressive, and recurrent PGCG that failed to respond to standard surgical treatment. A fit and healthy thirty-four-year-old Caucasian male presented with a two-month history of recurrent episodes of an oral mucosal lesion involving the buccal and lingual interdental papillae between the lower right second premolar (LR5) and lower right first molar (LR6), which was surgically excised with a scalpel three times previously. A 10,600 nm-induced HLLT was chosen as a treatment modality at a lower peak power of 1.62 W, measured with a power metre, emitted in gated emission mode (50% duty cycle), whereby the average output power reaching the target tissue was 0.81 W. The spot size was 0.8 mm. Ninety seconds was the total treatment duration, and the total energy density was 7934.78 J/cm. Patient self-reporting outcomes revealed minimal to no post-operative complications. Initial healing was observed on the 4th day of the post-laser treatment, and a complete healing occurred at two-weeks post-operatively. The histological analysis revealed PGCG. This unique case report study demonstrated the efficacy of 10,600 nm-induced HLLT and its superiority to eradicate persistent aggressive PGCG over the standard surgical approach with minimal to no post-operative complications, accelerating wound healing beyond the physiological healing time associated with no evidence of PGCG recurrence at the six-month follow-up timepoint. Based on the significant findings of this unique study and the results of our previous clinical studies, we can confirm the validity and effectiveness of our standardised 10,600 nm laser dosimetry-induced HLLT and treatment protocol in achieving optimal outcomes. Randomised controlled clinical trials with large data comparing 10,600 nm with our dosimetry protocol to the standard surgical treatment modality at long follow-up timepoints are warranted.

In this paper, we report on a study regarding the efficiency of the post-operational phototherapy of the tumor bed after resection with both a cold knife and a laser scalpel in laboratory mice with CT-26 tumors. Post-operational processing included photodynamic therapy (PDT) with a topically applied chlorin-based photosensitizer (PS), performed at wavelengths of 405 or 660 nm, with a total dose of 150 J/cm. The selected design of the tumor model yielded zero recurrence in the laser scalpel group and 92% recurrence in the cold knife group without post-processing, confirming the efficiency of the laser scalpel in oncology against the cold knife. The application of PDT after the cold knife resection decreased the recurrence rate to 70% and 42% for the 405 nm and 660 nm procedures, respectively. On the other hand, the application of PDT after the laser scalpel resection induced recurrence rates of 18% and 30%, respectively, for the considered PDT performance wavelengths. The control of the penetration of PS into the tumor bed by fluorescence confocal microscopy indicated the deeper penetration of PS in the case of the cold knife, which presumably provided deeper PDT action, while the low-dose light exposure of deeper tissues without PS, presumably, stimulated tumor recurrence, which was also confirmed by the differences in the recurrence rate in the 405 and 660 nm groups. Irradiation-only light exposures, in all cases, demonstrated higher recurrence rates compared to the corresponding PDT cases. Thus, the PDT processing of the tumor bed after resection could only be recommended for the cold knife treatment and not for the laser scalpel resection, where it could induce tumor recurrence.
