Review
Studies indicate that cocaine abuse in Denmark is rising. The drug can damage the midface's nasal tissues, cartilage, and bone. Diagnosing the cocaine-induced midline destructive lesions condition is difficult as patients may not admit to drug use. Thus, this review finds that physicians should ask about cocaine abuse in younger patients who present with midline destructions of unknown origin. Mild symptoms are reversible with total abstinence, which is why it is important to involve addiction services early. Besides drug abstinence, comprehensive treatment involves assistance from GPs, physiatrists, rhinologists, and plastic surgeons.

Review
Inpatient rehabilitation confers excellent benefit to burn survivors and should be considered as a potential destination during discharge planning. Consulting physiatrists identify and manage complications within the inpatient rehabilitation setting. Interventions can be taken to address medical sequelae of injury, including pain, itch, neuropathy, psychological coping and mood, and nutritional needs. Physiatrists also oversee and direct a rehabilitation program focusing on scar management, contracture prevention, dysphagia treatment, and evaluation and treatment of cognitive impairments. Aerobic and resistive exercise are key components of an inpatient rehabilitation program to reduce the systemic impact of a burn injury and improve quality of life.

Meta-Analysis
INTRODUCTION
The aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy of rehabilitation programs for bladder disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and to guide physicians in delineating therapeutic tools and programs for physiatrists, using the best current strategies.
EVIDENCE ACQUISITION
A search was conducted on PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library and Web of Science. Studies were eligible if they included adults with bladder disorders related to MS and described specific treatments of rehabilitation interest. The search identified 190,283 articles using the key words "multiple sclerosis" AND "rehabilitation" AND "urinary" OR "bladder," of which the reviewers analyzed 81 full-texts; 21 publications met the criteria and were included in the systematic review.
EVIDENCE SYNTHESIS
The systematic review identified the specific rehabilitation treatments reported in the current literature. The meta-analysis compared the scores and scales used to quantify bladder disorders due to MS, both before and after rehabilitation or in a comparison with a control group.
CONCLUSIONS
The present study suggests the need of a specific therapeutic protocol, based on the degree of disability and symptom complexity in patients with MS-related neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD). Particularly, the meta-analysis shows the effectiveness of peripheral tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) and pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) for neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO). However, the goal of physiotherapy is to treat incontinence without making urinary retention worse and vice-versa, reducing the loss of urine urgency, while ensuring the emptying of the bladder.

Effects of Core Stabilization Exercises on Pulmonary Function, Respiratory Muscle Strength, Peripheral Muscle Strength, Functional Capacity, and Perceived Appearance in Children With Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
OBJECTIVE
The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of core stabilization exercises on pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength, peripheral muscle strength, walking capacity, and perceived appearance in children with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
DESIGN
This is an evaluator-blinded, randomized controlled trial. A total of 30 patients were randomly allocated to either a training group (n = 15, age = 13.8 ± 2.8 yrs, Cobb angle = 19.3 ± 6 degrees, Risser sign: n(1) = 1; n(2-4) = 14) or a control group (n = 15, age = 15.8 ± 3.4 yrs, Cobb angle = 20.8 ± 7.9 degrees, Risser sign: n(1) = 1; n(2-4) = 14). The training group received core stabilization exercises in addition to the traditional scoliosis exercises for 8 wks. The control group only received the traditional scoliosis exercises for 8 wks. Spirometry, maximal inspiratory and expiratory pressures, 6-min walking test, peripheral muscle strength, and the Walter Reed Visual Assessment Scale were assessed at the beginning and end of the study.
RESULTS
The training group showed statistically significant improvements in maximal inspiratory pressure, maximum expiratory pressure, and Walter Reed Visual Assessment Scale score (respectively, mean changes = 17.4 ± 5.2 cmH2O; 10.6 ± 4.3 cmH2O; 2.4 ± 1.6), which were significantly larger compared with the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
Core stabilization exercises given in addition to the traditional scoliosis exercise can improve respiratory muscle strength and perceived appearance in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Review
Care for pediatric cancer survivors must include scheduled, thorough evaluations of potential chronic and late effects resulting from multidimensional cancer treatments. Assessment of functional independence with activities and participation is critical in assuring that survivors can optimally access their environments and pursue educational, occupational, and leisure activities appropriate to their interests and capabilities. Owing to their expertise in both rehabilitation and habilitation, pediatric physiatrists are of great benefit in the care of survivors of pediatric cancer.
