A strong association is noted between depression and early perimenopause as well as menopause. The association was found to be the greatest in women with natural menopause at the age less than 40 years. Excessive corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) levels in depression lead to inhibition of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and increased cortisol levels which further inhibits the action of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons, gonadotrophs, and gonads. The resulting changes in luteinizing hormone (LH) amplitude, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels, and LH pulse frequency were noted in patients with depression. Besides depression, earlier surgical menopause is associated with cognitive decline. In addition, it is seen that menopausal changes predisposed females to an increased risk of depression. The association between dysmenorrhea and depression was found to be bidirectional and congruent in most studies. Patients with dysmenorrhea and coexisting depression had enhanced pain perception along with a poor response to pain relief measures. Even the treatment of underlying depression has been shown to cause menorrhagia. On the other hand, amenorrhea has also been reported as a side effect of sertraline and electroconvulsive therapy. Menstrual disorders contribute to a significant number of outpatient gynecological visits per year in the United States. Co-existing or history of depression can either be the cause of or interfere in the treatment of these disorders. Furthermore, the treatment of depression can be the etiology of various menstrual abnormalities, while menstrual disorders themselves could be the cause of depression. The increasing prevalence of depression, women's health, multiple female-specific subtypes, and the preexisting burden of menstrual disorders necessitates more detailed studies on the effects of depression on the menstrual cycle.

The objective of this systematic review is to give a comprehensive interpretation of menstrual cycle changes after the COVID-19 vaccination. Additionally, it is imperative to assess reports of menstrual changes following vaccination to dispel concerns that COVID-19 vaccines hinder the likelihood of pregnancy in the long run. A literature review was conducted using digital databases to systematically identify the studies reporting any menstrual abnormalities after the COVID-19 vaccine. Detailed patient-level study characteristics including the type of study, sample size, administered vaccines, and menstrual abnormalities were abstracted. A total of 78 138 vaccinated females were included in this review from 14 studies. Of these, 39 759 (52.05%) had some form of a menstrual problem after vaccination. Due to the lack of published research articles, preprints were also included in this review. Menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, and polymenorrhea were the most commonly observed problems and the overall study-level rate of menstrual abnormality ranged from 0.83% to 90.9%. Age, history of pregnancy, systemic side-effects of COVID-19, smoking, and second dose of COVID-19 vaccine were predictors of menstrual problems after vaccination.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW
Uterine leiomyoma (fibroids) is a gynecologic disorder impacting the majority of women in the United States. When symptomatic, these noncancerous tumors can cause severe morbidity including pelvic pain, menorrhagia, and infertility. Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) may represent a modifiable risk factor. The aim of this review is to summarize recent human and experimental evidence on EDCs exposures and fibroids.
RECENT FINDINGS
Multiple EDCs are associated with fibroid outcomes and/or processes including phthalates, parabens, environmental phenols, alternate plasticizers, Diethylstilbestrol, organophosphate esters, and tributyltin. Epidemiologic studies suggest exposure to certain EDCs, such as di-(2-ethylhxyl)-phthalate (DEHP), are associated with increased fibroid risk and severity. Both human and experimental studies indicate that epigenetic processes may play an important role in linking EDCs to fibroid pathogenesis. In-vitro and in-vivo studies show that DEHP, bisphenol A, and diethylstilbestrol can impact biological pathways critical to fibroid pathogenesis.
SUMMARY
While research on EDCs and fibroids is still evolving, recent evidence suggests EDC exposures may contribute to fibroid risk and progression. Further research is needed to examine the impacts of EDC mixtures and to identify critical biological pathways and windows of exposure. These results could open the door to new prevention strategies for fibroids.

BACKGROUND
Endometrial aspiration (EA) is an economic, painless technique on an outpatient basis. Present study aimed at cytological evaluation of EA for (a) cellular yield and morphology and (b) utility of cell block (CB) and cytocentrifuge (CC) techniques.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
EA samples were divided into two aliquots. Colorless samples were processed (1000 rpm × 6 min) for conventional smear (CS) and CC, both stained by Papanicolaou. Hemorrhagic samples were processed for CS and CB (paraffin embedding, hematoxylin-eosin stain).
RESULTS
Endometrial aspirates from January 2021 to January 2022 were included. Indications comprised abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB; 87), prolapse (eight), and infertility (two). Among 77 hemorrhagic aspirates, the yield was 85.7% by CS and 90.9% by CB. Among 20 colorless aspirates, the yield was 55% by CS and 65% by CC. The yield was 85.7%, 84.4%, and 83.3% with endometrial thickness 1-5, 6-10, and 11-15 mm, respectively. The yield was 83.9%, 50%, and 0% in AUB, prolapse, and infertility, respectively. CS morphology showed the categories of benign (93.5%) and atypia (6.5%). All cases with benign morphology correlated with CB and CC. CB offered architectural evaluation, while CC had a shorter turnaround time.
CONCLUSION
Focusing on menorrhagia cases in secretory phase, nondilution of EA samples, and simultaneous endometrial biopsy can enhance cytology evaluation. In an era where "less should convey more," EA shows potential as a screening technique vis-à-vis invasive "dilatation-curettage" technique.

Anticoagulation poses unique challenges for women of reproductive age. Clinicians prescribing anticoagulants must counsel patients on issues ranging from menstruation and the possibility of developing a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst to teratogenic risks and safety with breastfeeding. Abnormal uterine bleeding affects up to 70% of young women who are treated with anticoagulation. As such, thoughtful clinical guidance is required to avoid having young women who are troubled by their menses, dose reduce, or prematurely discontinue their anticoagulation, leaving them at increased risk of recurrent thrombosis. Informed by a review of the medical literature, we present current recommendations for assisting patients requiring anticoagulation with menstrual management, prevention of hemorrhagic ovarian cysts, and avoiding unintended pregnancy. The subdermal implant may be considered a first-line option for those requiring anticoagulation, given its superior contraceptive effectiveness and ability to reliably reduce risk of hemorrhagic ovarian cysts. All progestin-only formulations-such as the subdermal implant, intrauterine device, injection, or pills-are generally preferred over combined hormonal pills, patch, or ring. Tranexamic acid, and in rare cases endometrial ablation, may also be useful in managing menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea. During pregnancy, enoxaparin remains the preferred anticoagulant and warfarin is contraindicated. Breastfeeding women may use warfarin, but direct oral anticoagulants are not recommended given their limited safety data. This practical guide for clinicians is designed to inform discussions of risks and benefits of anticoagulation therapy for women of reproductive age.

BACKGROUND
One of the hallmarks of related Schwannomatosis -related SWN) is bilateral vestibular schwannomas (VS) that can cause progressive hearing impairment in patients. This systematic review was performed to investigate the efficacy and toxicity of tested targeted agents.
METHODS
The systematic search was conducted on PubMed and EMBASE Ovid databases from inception to October 2022, according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The incidence of outcomes in studies involving bevacizumab and other targeted therapies was extracted. The bevacizumab results were pooled, and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were calculated.
RESULTS
Sixteen studies (8 prospective and 8 retrospective) testing 6 drugs were selected out of 721 search results. There were 10 studies concerning bevacizumab, with a total of 200 patients. The pooled radiographic response rate (RR) was 38% (95% CI: 31 - 45%) and the pooled hearing response rate (HR) was 45% (95% CI: 36 - 54%). The most frequent bevacizumab-related toxicities were hypertension and menorrhagia. Of other targeted therapies showing activity, lapatinib had a RR of 6% and a HR of 31%. A VEGFR vaccine showed RR in 29% and HR in 40% of patients. Both agents had a manageable safety profile.
CONCLUSIONS
Bevacizumab, in comparison to other targeted agents, showed the highest efficacy. Lower dosage of bevacizumab shows comparable efficacy and may reduce toxicity. Other targeted agents, administered alone or as combination therapy, have the potential to improve outcomes for VS in patients with -related SWN, but future clinical studies are needed.

Common uterine diseases include endometriosis, uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial cancer, and endometrial dysfunction causing infertility. Patients with uterine diseases often suffer from abdominal pain, menorrhagia, infertility and other symptoms, which seriously impair their health and disturb their lives. Androgens play important roles in the normal physiological functions of the uterus and pathological progress of uterine diseases. Androgens in women are synthesized in the ovaries and adrenal glands. The action of androgens in the uterus is mainly mediated by its ligand androgen receptor (AR) that regulates transcription of the target genes. However, much less is known about the signaling pathways through which androgen functions in uterine diseases, and contradictory findings have been reported. This review summarizes and discusses the progress of research on androgens and the involvement of AR in uterine diseases. Future studies should focus on developing new therapeutic strategies that precisely target specific AR and their related signaling pathways in uterine diseases.

BACKGROUND
COVID - 19 vaccine can lead to various local and systemic side effects, including menstrual irregularities in women. There is no robust quantitative evidence of the association between the COVID - 19 vaccine and menstrual irregularities. A meta-analysis was performed to estimate the pooled prevalence of a range of menstrual disorders that may occur in women following COVID - 19 vaccination.
METHODS
After searching for epidemiological studies, we systematically performed a meta-analysis on PubMed/Medline, EMBASE, and Science Direct. Sixteen studies were finally included in the study. We estimated the pooled prevalence and corresponding 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) for a group of menstrual disorders, including menorrhagia, polymenorrhea, abnormal cycle length, and oligomenorrhea. Heterogeneity was assessed using the I statistic and the Q test.
RESULTS
Overall, the pooled prevalence of menorrhagia was 24.24 % (pooled prevalence 24.24 %; 95 % CI: 12.8-35.6 %). The pooled prevalence of polymenorrhea was 16.2 % (pooled prevalence: 16.2 %; 95 % CI: 10.7-21.6 %). The pooled prevalence of abnormal cycle length was relatively lower than that of the other disorders (pooled prevalence: 6.6 %; 95 % CI: 5.0-8.2 %). The pooled prevalence of oligomenorrhea was 22.7 % (95 % CI: 13.5-32.0 %).
CONCLUSION
The findings indicate that menorrhagia, oligomenorrhea, and polymenorrhea were the most common menstrual irregularities after vaccination. The findings also suggest that a relatively high proportion of women suffer from menstrual irregularities. Further longitudinal studies are needed to confirm the causal relationship between COVID-19 vaccination and menstrual irregularities.
