INTRODUCTION
The advent of genome amplification assays has allowed description of new respiratory viruses and to reconsider the role played by certain respiratory viruses in bronchiolitis. This systematic review and meta-analysis was initiated to clarify the prevalence of respiratory viruses in children with bronchiolitis in the pre-COVID-19 pandemic era.
METHODS
We performed an electronic search through Pubmed and Global Index Medicus databases. We included observational studies reporting the detection rate of common respiratory viruses in children with bronchiolitis using molecular assays. Data was extracted and the quality of the included articles was assessed. We conducted sensitivity, subgroups, publication bias, and heterogeneity analyses using a random effect model.
RESULTS
The final meta-analysis included 51 studies. Human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) was largely the most commonly detected virus 59.2%; 95% CI [54.7; 63.6]). The second predominant virus was Rhinovirus (RV) 19.3%; 95% CI [16.7; 22.0]) followed by Human bocavirus (HBoV) 8.2%; 95% CI [5.7; 11.2]). Other reported viruses included Human Adenovirus (HAdV) 6.1%; 95% CI [4.4; 8.0]), Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) 5.4%; 95% CI [4.4; 6.4]), Human Parainfluenzavirus (HPIV) 5.4%; 95% CI [3.8; 7.3]), Influenza 3.2%; 95% CI [2.2; 4.3], Human Coronavirus (HCoV) 2.9%; 95% CI [2.0; 4.0]), and Enterovirus (EV) 2.9%; 95% CI [1.6; 4.5]). HRSV was the predominant virus involved in multiple detection and most codetections were HRSV + RV 7.1%, 95% CI [4.6; 9.9]) and HRSV + HBoV 4.5%, 95% CI [2.4; 7.3]).
CONCLUSIONS
The present study has shown that HRSV is the main cause of bronchiolitis in children, we also have Rhinovirus, and Bocavirus which also play a significant role. Data on the role played by SARS-CoV-2 in children with acute bronchiolitis is needed.

Human bocaviruses (HBoVs), which were first identified in 2005 and are composed of genotypes 1-4, have been increasingly detected worldwide in pediatric patients with acute gastroenteritis. To investigate if HBoV infection is a risk factor of acute gastroenteritis in children younger than 5 years old, we searched PubMed, Embase (via Ovid), the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and the Cochrane Library for studies assessing the prevalence of HBoVs in individuals from Oct 25, 2005 to Oct 31, 2016. We included studies using PCR-based diagnostics for HBoVs from stool specimens of patients with or without acute gastroenteritis that carried out research for over 1 year on pediatric patients aged younger than 5 years old. The primary outcome was the HBoV prevalence among all cases with acute gastroenteritis. Pooled estimates of the HBoV prevalence were then generated by fitting linear mixed effect meta-regression models. Of the 36 studies included, the pooled HBoV prevalence in 20,591 patients with acute gastroenteritis was 6.90% (95% confidence interval (95% CI): 5.80-8.10%). In the ten studies with a control group, HBoVs were detected in 12.40% of the 3,620 cases with acute gastroenteritis and in 12.22% of the 2,030 control children (odds ratio (OR): 1.44; 95% CI: 0.95-2.19, p = 0.09 between case and control groups). HBoV1 and HBoV2 were detected in 3.49% and 8.59% of acute gastroenteritis cases, respectively, and in 2.22% and 5.09% of control children, respectively (OR: 1.40; 95% CI: 0.61-3.25; p = 0.43 and OR: 1.68; 95% CI: 1.21-2.32; p = 0.002, respectively). Current evidence suggests that the overall HBoV prevalence in children younger than 5 years old is not significantly different between groups with or without acute gastroenteritis. However, when HBoV1 was excluded, the HBoV2 prevalence was significantly different between these two groups, which may imply that HBoV2 is a risk factor of acute gastroenteritis in children younger than 5 years old.

In patients with infectious cryoglobulinemia vasculitis (CryoVas) in the absence of hepatitis C virus infection, data on presentation, therapeutic management and outcome are lacking. We conducted a nationwide survey that included patients with HCV-negative CryoVas. We describe here the presentation, therapeutic management and outcome of 18 patients with non-HCV infectious CryoVas and 27 additional patients identified form a systematic review of the literature. We included 18 patients, mean age 57.9±13.5 years. Infectious causes were viral infections in 8 patients [hepatitis B virus (HBV) in 4, and cytomegalovirus, Epstein Barr virus, parvovirus B19 and human immunodeficiency virus in one case each], pyogenic bacterial infection in 6 patients, parasitic infection in 2 patients, and leprosy and candidiasis in one case each. Baseline manifestations were purpura (78%), glomerulonephritis (28%), arthralgia (28%), peripheral neuropathy (22%), skin necrosis (22%), cutaneous ulcers (17%), and myalgia (11%). Cryoglobulinemia was type II in 2/3 of cases. Most cases received specific anti-infectious therapy as first-line therapy, sometimes associated with corticosteroids, achieving sustained remission in the majority of cases. Refractory or relapsing patients, frequently related to HBV infection, showed a complete remission after rituximab in addition to antiviral therapy. In contrast, corticosteroids and/or immunosuppressive agents used in the absence of anti-infectious agents were frequently associated with refractory CryoVas. Viral and pyogenic bacterial infections represent the main causes of non-HCV infectious CryoVas. Antimicrobial therapy is commonly associated with sustained remission. Immunosuppressive agents should be considered only as a second-line option in patients with refractory vasculitis.

INTRODUCTION
Immunoglobulin A vasculitis is historically more commonly found in children after certain viral infections such as Epstein-Barr, varicella virus, and parvovirus B19. COVID-19 has not been formally established in literature as a trigger for immunoglobulin A vasculitis. However, a main pathogenetic mechanism of COVID-19 is vascular damage, which makes it likely that vasculitis associated with COVID-19 (ie, COVID-19-mediated immunoglobulin A vasculitis) could be biologically plausible, with serious implications, especially for adults. The purpose of this review is to assist emergency nurses in gaining knowledge on the pathophysiology, symptoms, and treatment of COVID-19-mediated immunoglobulin A vasculitis.
METHODS
A systematic search for case reports of COVID-19-associated immunoglobulin A vasculitis was conducted in the PubMed and Scopus electronic databases. The search terms used were COVID-19, coronavirus 2019, SARS COVID-19, and IgA vasculitis, case reports. The following were the inclusion criteria: publication dates between December 1, 2019, and December 1, 2021; full-text article, clinical case studies, and letters to the editor available electronically in English. The following were exclusion criteria: a summary of reports and newspaper publications.
RESULTS
Only 13 clinical cases met the inclusion criteria. The median age of patients described in the case reports were 38.1 years. Of them, 3 children were less than 5 years old. Twelve patients were male. In 7 of 13 cases of immunoglobulin A vasculitis, renal involvement was found.
DISCUSSION
The analysis of published clinical cases showed that COVID-19-associated immunoglobulin A vasculitis affected mostly adults and was characterized by a more severe course because of renal involvement. COVID-19 may be a possible trigger for immunoglobulin A-related disorders. More research is needed to better understand the relationship between immunoglobulin A vasculitis and COVID-19.

BACKGROUND
Human parvovirus B19 (B19) is widespread infection in humans, yet the impact on adverse pregnancy outcomes is controversial.
OBJECTIVE
to evaluate the impact of B19 infection during pregnancy on adverse pregnancy outcome, and investigated the incidence of fetal loss and fetal hydrops after maternal B19 infection during pregnancy.
STUDY DESIGN
A systematic literature search was performed using Embase, Medline, PubMed, Web of science, and the Cochrane Library database for relevant publications up to 10 August 2018. Cohort studies and case-control studies were included in analyses.
RESULTS
In total, 36 eligible studies were included. Of these, 18 studies reported the risk of maternal B19 infection during pregnancy on fetal loss and 20 studies reported the incidence of fetal loss or fetal hydrops after maternal B19 infection. Collectively, the results indicated that maternal B19 infection increased the risk of fetal loss, spontaneous abortion, and stillbirth with ORs of 2.68 (95% CI: 2.02-3.55), 2.42 (95% CI: 1.76-3.33), and 3.53 (95% CI: 1.91-6.54), respectively, when compared with uninfected pregnant women. In addition, the incidence of fetal loss and fetal hydrops in B19 infected pregnant women was 7.6% (95% CI: 5.5-9.5) and 9.3% (95% CI: 5.6-13.0), respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
maternal parvovirus B19 infection during pregnancy increased the risk of fetal loss, spontaneous abortion, and stillbirth. A high incidence of fetal loss and fetal hydrops was observed in pregnant women with parvovirus B19 infection.

Severe gastroenteritis caused by canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV2) is a serious life-threatening disease in puppies less than 4-months of age. The emergence of new variants has provoked some concern about the cross-protection elicited by licensed canine parvovirus modified-live type 2 (CPV2) and type 2b (CPV2b) vaccines against the most recent subtype CPV2c. A systematic review was carried out to assess the efficacy of commercial vaccines. We conducted a literature search of Pub Med/MEDLINE from January 1990 to May 2014. This was supplemented by hand-searching of related citations and searches in Google/Google Scholar. Controlled clinical trials in which vaccinated puppies were challenged with CPV2c virus were evaluated. Reporting of outcome measures and results for vaccine efficacy were critically appraised through a variety of clinical signs, serological tests, virus shedding and the ability to overcome maternally derived antibodies (MDA) titres. Six controlled clinical trials were included in the review. In most cases, the results of the selected studies reported benefits in terms of clinical signs, serological tests and virus shedding. However, MDA interference was not considered or evaluated in 5 of the selected trials. No accurate definitions of baseline healthy status and/or clinical outcomes were provided. Methods of randomization, allocation concealment and blinding were usually poorly reported. As a result of the limited number of included studies matching the inclusion criteria, the small sample sizes, short follow-up and the methodological limitations observed, it was not possible to reach a final conclusion regarding the cross-protection of licensed CPV2 and CPV2b vaccines against the subtype 2c in puppies. Further and specifically designed trials are required in order to elucidate whether cross-protection is acquired from licensed CPV vaccines.

OBJECTIVE
To explore the outcome of fetuses affected by congenital parvovirus B19 (PB19) infection, with or without signs of hydrops on ultrasound.
METHODS
PubMed, EMBASE and CINAHL databases were searched for studies reporting on prenatal diagnosis and outcome of fetal PB19 infection. The outcomes explored were miscarriage, perinatal death (PND), intrauterine death, neonatal death, spontaneous resolution of hydrops or fetal anemia, need for intrauterine transfusion (IUT), resolution of hydrops or anemia after transfusion, fetal loss following transfusion, abnormal brain scan after birth and abnormal neurodevelopmental outcome. Outcomes were reported according to the presence or absence of signs of hydrops on ultrasound. A subgroup analysis was performed including hydropic and non-hydropic fetuses diagnosed at < 20 weeks and ≥ 20 weeks of gestation. Meta-analyses of proportions and meta-analyses using individual-data random-effects logistic regression were performed to analyze the data.
RESULTS
Thirty-five observational studies were included, involving 611 fetuses affected by PB19 infection. The risks of miscarriage (odds ratio (OR), 11.5; 95% CI, 2.7-49.7) and PND (OR, 4.2; 95% CI, 1.6-11.0) were higher in fetuses with PB19 infection presenting, compared with those not presenting, signs of hydrops on ultrasound. In fetuses affected by hydrops, spontaneous resolution of the infection, defined as disappearance of hydrops without need for IUT, occurred in 5.2% (95% CI, 2.5-8.8%) of cases whereas, in the group of fetuses not affected by hydrops, infection resolved in 49.6% (95% CI, 20.7-78.6%) of cases. IUT was performed in 78.7% (95% CI, 66.4-88.8%) of hydropic and in 29.6% (95% CI, 6.0-61.6%) of non-hydropic fetuses affected by congenital PB19 infection and resolution of the infection after IUT occurred in 55.1% (95% CI, 34.0-75.3%) and in 100% (95% CI, 57.3-100%) of cases, respectively. The risk of fetal loss after IUT was higher in fetuses affected compared with those not affected by hydrops (OR, 9.8; 95% CI, 2.8-34.6). The prevalence of abnormal brain imaging was 9.8% (95% CI, 2.5-21.0%) in fetuses affected and 0.0% (95% CI, 0.0-7.0%) in those not affected by hydrops, whilst the corresponding figures for abnormal neurodevelopmental outcome were 9.5% (95% CI, 2.6-20.2) and 0.0% (95% CI, 0.0-7.5), respectively; however, statistical power to assess these outcomes was inadequate due to the small number of included cases.
CONCLUSIONS
Hydrops is the main determinant of mortality and adverse perinatal outcome in fetuses with PB19 infection. Perinatal outcome in non-hydropic fetuses is generally favorable. Copyright © 2018 ISUOG. Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

The most represented histotype of testicular cancer is the testicular germ-cell tumor (TGCT), both seminoma and non-seminoma. The pathogenesis of this cancer is poorly known. A possible causal relationship between viral infections and TGCTs was firstly evoked almost 40 years ago and is still a subject of debate. In the recent past, different authors have argued about a possible role of specific viruses in the development of TGCTs including human papillomavirus (HPV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), Parvovirus B-19, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The aim of this present review was to summarize, for each virus considered, the available evidence on the impact of viral infections on the risk of developing TGCTs. The review was reported following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. We included all observational studies reported in English evaluating the correlations between viral infections (HPV, CMV, EBV, Parvovirus B19, and HIV) and TGCTs. The methodological quality of studies included in the meta-analysis was evaluated using a modified version of the "Newcastle-Ottawa Scale." Meta-analyses were conducted using the "Generic inverse variance" method, where a pooled odds ratio (OR) was determined from the natural logarithm (LN) of the studies' individual OR [LN (OR)] and the 95% CI. A total of 20 studies (on 265,057 patients) were included in the review. Meta-analysis showed an association with TGCTs only for some of the explored viruses. In particular, no association was found for HPV, CMV, and Parvovirus B-19 infection ( = ns). Conversely, EBV and HIV infections were significantly associated with higher risk of developing TGCTs (OR 7.38, 95% CI 1.89-28.75, = 0.004; OR 1.71, 95% CI 1.51-1.93, < 0.00001). In conclusion, we found adequate evidence supporting an oncogenic effect of HIV and EBV on the human testis. Conversely, available data on HPV and TGCTs risk are conflicting and further studies are needed to draw firm conclusions. Finally, current evidence does not support an effect of CMV and Parvovirus B-19 on testicular carcinogenesis.

An increasing number of reports have described human parvovirus B19 infection in association with a variety of neurological manifestations, especially in children. This study assessed the clinical and laboratory outcomes found in a case series of immunocompetent children who tested positive for parvovirus B19 by qualitative polymerase chain reaction assays of cerebrospinal fluid, in a tertiary referral center in the western Brazilian Amazon. We screened 178 children with clinically diagnosed central nervous system infections (meningoencephalitis). Of these, five (2.8%) were positive for parvovirus B19. A literature review also presented herein identified a further 50 cases of parvovirus B19 with neurological manifestations. Thus, even if the classic signs of parvovirus B19 infection are absent, such as the well-known rash, children with signs of neurological infection should also be evaluated for parvovirus B19 infection.

OBJECTIVE
Collapsing glomerulopathy (CG) is a podocytopathy that is usually associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and parvovirus B19 infections. CG has been reported in association with definite collagen vascular diseases, mainly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). There are a few case reports in the nephrology literature of patients with CG and marked serological abnormalities who do not have sufficient clinical findings to diagnose definite collagen vascular disease. We wish to expand the spectrum of rheumatologic disease that accompanies CG. We describe four patients with CG and collagen vascular-like disease and compare these with 14 similar cases reported in the medical literature.
METHODS
Case reports of four new patients with CG and collagen vascular-like disease are presented. We performed a systematic literature review to find all other cases and construct a profile of patients with CG and collagen vascular-like disease.
RESULTS
All patients had a similar mode of presentation with severe nephrotic range proteinuria and renal insufficiency resistant to steroids and usual immunomodulatory therapy. All patients had positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA) as well as other marked serological abnormalities but few if any clinical findings that would allow for a definitive diagnosis of a specific collagen vascular disease. Almost all patients became dialysis dependent. Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) may possibly be a therapeutic option.
CONCLUSION
Rheumatologists may be asked to consult on patients with severe proteinuria and renal insufficiency in the presence of marked serological abnormalities but few clinical symptoms and should be aware of this podocytopathy.
