Review
Chondroma is a benign cartilage-forming tumor which usually occurs in small bones of extremities but occasionally occurs in the brain. Usually, intracranial chondromas originate from skull base; however, chondroma of the falx cerebri is a very rare condition. We here report a rare case of falcine chondroma in a 19-year-old man who had normal physical examination without signs of any syndromic disorder. The neuroimaging findings were inconclusive, and the diagnosis was based on histopathological examination. The purpose of this paper is to raise attention about intracranial chondromas and suggest that chondroma must be ruled out in any patient presenting with masses arising from the falx.

Chondromas are benign tumors composed of mature hyaline cartilage (Bahnassy & Abdil-Khalik, 2009). Extraskeletal presentation of chondromas is extremely rare and mostly occurs in the soft tissues of the extremities, mainly the hands and feet (Bahnassy & Abdil-Khalik, 2009; Rapini et al, 2007). There are currently only 3 case reports in the literature of chondroma of the urinary bladder (Cho & Horvai, 2015; Reichard et al, 2014; Sloan & Rapoport, 1985). Here we present a case of urinary bladder chondroma with low proliferative potential managed by transurethral resection.

Review
Chondromas and chondrosarcomas are cartilage-forming tumors that occur rarely in the spine. These neoplasms exist on opposite ends of the pathologic spectrum, ranging from the benign chondroma to the malignant, high-grade chondrosarcoma. Unlike other sarcomas, a patient's long-term prognosis is influenced by the grade of the tumor. A complete en bloc resection is the ideal method of surgical management. This method holds especially true for chondrosarcomas, and can result in prolonged survival. These tumors are resistant to conventional chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Hypofractionated stereotactic radiation therapy may slow tumor progression, although the long-term effect of this modality is unknown.

Review
A chondrosarcoma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the chest wall. It usually presents on the anterior chest wall arising from the costochondral arches or sternum. It may occur as the result of malignant degeneration of a benign chondroma. Both chondrosarcomas and benign chondromas present as painful, slow-growing, hard, fixed, and nontender anterior chest wall masses. Microscopic differentiation between the two tumors is difficult and the treatment for both tumors is wide excision with a margin of at least 4 cm. Chemotherapy is ineffective and radiation therapy is used only for patients with tumors that are either not amenable to surgical resection or have positive resection margins.

INTRODUCTION
Chondromas are rare mesenchymal benign tumors that are most often encountered in pelvis and ribs, and rarely in head and neck region. They account for about 10% of all benign chondroid proliferations and the rarest occurrence of soft tissue chondromas is within oral cavity.
CASE
A 10-year-old female patient was referred to our Clinic because of moderate speech impairment, swallowing disturbances and foreign body sensation in tongue. On clinical examination and MRI scans, hard, painless, clearly demarcated submucosal mass was observed on the left side of the tongue. Surgery was perfomed using intraoral incision approach, and the tumor was completly removed. Histopathological examination of the specimen was positive for chondroma.
CONCLUSION
Chondromas benign tumors of mature hyaline cartillage localized in soft tissues of head and neck region. Growing slowly, and painlessly, they remain silent for some period, until reaching certain dimensions, and becoming symptomatous. Magnetic resonance imaging scan provides complete information about localization, size, growth of the tissue, and contributes significantly to the decision of appropriate surgical approach.

Review
Lingual chondromas are rare neoplasms. They are usually seen on the lateral border and dorsum of the tongue. A case of chondroma on the ventral surface of the tongue of a 79-year-old woman is described and the literature reviewed. The possible causes of this unusual neoplasm are discussed.
