Mediastinal lymph node station maps are intended to facilitate nodal staging in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. These maps have been revised over time and the International Association for Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) map is the latest rendition. This article illustrates the imaging appearance of each of the IASLC map mediastinal lymph node stations, overviews some of the mediastinal lymph node sampling techniques, and discusses common pitfalls of the IASLC map. It also reviews mediastinal anatomic variants and pathologic features that may simulate lymphadenopathy.

Whether working in intensive care unit or not as nephrologists we are all facing complicated cases with different sign and symptoms. Among them is a category of patients presenting with concomitant respiratory and kidney failure called pulmonary renal syndrome, which needs mutual connection between nephrologist and pulmonologist closely for the best decision-making. Although this is not a common entity, still associated with high rate of morbidity and mortality involving diffuse alveolar hemorrhage and glomerulonephritis. Understanding the updates in the field of management would benefit both the patients and caregivers providing clear answers to present obstacles.

Via the emergence of new bronchoscopic technologies and techniques, there is enormous growth in the number of procedures being performed in nonoperating room settings. This, coupled with a greater focus from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for mandated anesthesiology oversight of procedural sedation for bronchoscopy by the pulmonologists has led to a more frequent working partnership between interventional pulmonologists and anesthesiologists. This article offers the interventional pulmonologist insight into how the anesthesiologist thinks and approaches anesthetic care delivery.

Single-cell ribonucleic acid sequencing is becoming widely employed to study biological processes at a novel resolution depth. The ability to analyse transcriptomes of multiple heterogeneous cell types in parallel is especially valuable for cell-focused lung research where a variety of resident and recruited cells are essential for maintaining organ functionality. We compared the single-cell transcriptomes from publicly available and unpublished datasets of the lungs in six different species: human (), African green monkey (), pig (), hamster (), rat () and mouse () by employing RNA velocity and intercellular communication based on ligand-receptor co-expression, among other techniques. Specifically, we demonstrated a workflow for interspecies data integration, applied a single unified gene nomenclature, performed cell-specific clustering and identified marker genes for each species. Overall, integrative approaches combining newly sequenced as well as publicly available datasets could help identify species-specific transcriptomic signatures in both healthy and diseased lung tissue and select appropriate models for future respiratory research.

From the tried and true convex probe endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-guided transbronchial needle aspiration to robotic bronchoscopy for peripheral lesions and new technology to unblind the biopsy tools, this article elucidates and expounds on the tools currently available and being developed for lung cancer diagnosis.

Climate change adversely impacts global health. Increasingly, temperature variability, inclement weather, declining air quality, and growing food and clean water supply insecurities threaten human health. Earth's temperature is projected to increase up to 6.4 °C by the end of the 21st century, exacerbating the threat. Public and health care professionals, including pulmonologists, perceive the detrimental effects of climate change and air pollution and support efforts to mitigate its effects. In fact, evidence is strong that premature cardiopulmonary death is associated with air pollution exposure via inhalation through the respiratory system, which functions as a portal of entry. However, little guidance is available for pulmonologists in recognizing the effects of climate change and air pollution on the diverse range of pulmonary disorders. To educate and mitigate risk for patients competently, pulmonologists must be armed with evidence-based findings of the impact of climate change and air pollution on specific pulmonary diseases. Our goal is to provide pulmonologists with the background and tools to improve patients' health and to prevent adverse outcomes despite climate change-imposed threats. In this review, we detail current evidence of climate change and air pollution impact on a diverse range of pulmonary disorders. Knowledge enables a proactive and individualized approach toward prevention strategies for patients, rather than merely treating ailments reactively.

INTRODUCTION
Recent news points to the eventuality of an armed conflict on the national territory.
STATE OF THE ART
In this situation, pulmonologists will in all likelihood have a major role to assume in caring for the injured, especially insofar as chest damage is a major cause of patient death.
PERSPECTIVES
The main injuries that pulmonologists may be called upon to treat stem not only from explosions, but also from chemical, biological and nuclear hazards. In this article, relevant organizational and pedagogical aspects are addressed. Since exhaustiveness on this subject is unattainable, we are proposing training on specific subjects for interested practitioners.
CONCLUSION
The resilience of the French health system in a situation of armed conflict depends on the active participation of all concerned parties. With this in mind, it is of prime importance that the pneumological community be sensitized to the potential predictable severity of war-related injuries.

The treatment of non-small cell lung cancer has dramatically changed over the last decade through the use of targeted therapies and immunotherapies. Implementation of these treatment regimens relies on detailed knowledge regarding each tumor's specific genomic profile, underscoring the necessity of obtaining superior diagnostic tissue specimens. While these treatment approaches are commonly utilized in the metastatic setting, approval among earlier-stage disease will continue to rise, highlighting the importance of early and comprehensive biomarker testing at the time of diagnosis for all patients. Pulmonologists play an integral role in the diagnosis and staging of non-small cell lung cancer via sophisticated tissue sampling techniques. This multifaceted review will highlight current indications for the use of targeted therapies and immunotherapies in non-small cell lung cancer and will outline the quality of various diagnostic approaches and subsequent success of tissue biomarker testing. Pulmonologist-specific methods, including endobronchial ultrasound and guided bronchoscopy, will be examined as well as other modalities such as CT-guided transthoracic biopsy and more.

INTRODUCTION
Pulmonologists can biopsy structures below the diaphragm using the convex curvilinear ultrasound bronchoscope via the esophagus (EUS-B). The literature with respect to the value of EUS-B, rapid on-site evaluation, and final diagnostic yield for structures below the diaphragm is limited. We review our institutional experience.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Our database was queried retrospectively for EUS-B fine needle aspirations (FNAs) from 2013 to 2021. All procedures involving EUS-B-FNA of subdiaphragmatic structures were selected for analysis. The following data elements were collected for each patient: age, gender, clinical indication, sample site, on-site adequacy (OSA), preliminary and final diagnoses, and sufficiency of cell block for ancillary studies.
RESULTS
A total of 75 subdiaphragmatic sites were biopsied in 74 patients. Of which, 87% of samples subjected to rapid on-site evaluation were deemed to contain adequate material (OSA+). There were no false-positive OSAs. Six cases remained nondiagnostic at the final diagnosis. The final diagnostic yield (with cell block) was 92% (69/75 cases). Cell block was sufficient for immunohistochemistry or special stains in all applicable cases (n = 36). Molecular testing was requested for 11 cases and successful in 10 (91%). Sampling of subdiaphragmatic sites changed the stage in 67% (38/57) of lung cancer patients.
CONCLUSIONS
Pulmonologists can perform EUS-B-FNA of subdiaphragmatic sites with high OSA and final diagnostic yield when assisted by cytopathologists. Strong correlations exist between OSA, cell block adequacy, and subsequent capacity to perform ancillary testing. EUS-B below the diaphragm can make an important contribution to the diagnosis of lung cancer, nonpulmonary malignancies, and other diseases.
