OBJECTIVE
The primary objective was to determine the population prevalence of glenohumeral joint imaging abnormalities in asymptomatic adults.
METHOD
We systematically reviewed studies reporting the prevalence of X-ray, ultrasound (US), computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) abnormalities in adults without shoulder symptoms (PROSPERO registration number CRD42018090041). This report presents the glenohumeral joint imaging findings. We searched Ovid MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL and Web of Science from inception to June 2023 and assessed risk of bias using a tool designed for prevalence studies. The primary analysis was planned for the general population. The certainty of evidence was assessed using a modified Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) for prognostic studies.
RESULTS
Thirty-five studies (4 X-ray, 10 US, 20 MRI, 1 X-ray and MRI) reported useable prevalence data. Two studies were population-based (846 shoulders), 15 studies included miscellaneous study populations (1715 shoulders) and 18 included athletes (727 shoulders). All were judged to be at high risk of bias. Clinical diversity precluded pooling. Population prevalence of glenohumeral osteoarthritis ranged from 15% to 75% (2 studies, 846 shoulders, 1 X-ray, 1 X-ray and MRI; low certainty evidence). Prevalence of labral abnormalities, humeral head cysts and long head of biceps tendon abnormalities were 20%, 5%, 30% respectively (1 study, 20 shoulders, X-ray and MRI; very low certainty evidence).
CONCLUSION
The population-based prevalence of glenohumeral joint imaging abnormalities in asymptomatic individuals remains uncertain, but may range between 30% and 75%. Better estimates are needed to inform best evidence-based management of people with shoulder pain.

BACKGROUND
Sinus venosus atrial septal defect (SVASD) is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly comprising 5% to 10% of all atrial septal defects. Although surgical closure is the standard treatment for SVASD, data on outcomes have been confined to small cohorts. Thus, we conducted a systematic review of the outcomes of SVASD repair.
METHODS AND RESULTS
The primary outcome was death. Secondary outcomes encompassed atrial fibrillation, sinus node dysfunction, pacemaker insertion, cerebrovascular accident, reoperation, residual septal defect, superior vena cava obstruction, and reimplanted pulmonary vein obstruction. Pooled incidences of outcomes were calculated using a random-effects model. Forty studies involving 1320 patients who underwent SVASD repair were included. The majority were male patients (55.4%), with 88.0% presenting with associated anomalous pulmonary venous connection. The weighted mean age was 18.6±12.5 years, and the overall weighted mean follow-up period was 8.6±10.4 years. The in-hospital mortality rate was 0.24%, with a 30-day mortality rate of 0.5% reported in 780 patients. Incidences of atrial fibrillation, sinus node dysfunction, pacemaker insertion, and cerebrovascular accident over the long-term follow-up were 3.3% (2.18%-4.93%), 6.5% (5.09%-8.2%), 2.23% (1.34%-3.57%), and 2.03% (0.89%-2.46%) respectively. Reoperation occurred in 1.36% (0.68%-2.42%) of surgeries, residual septal defect in 1.34% (0.69%-2.42%), superior vena cava obstruction in 1.76% (1.02%-2.9%), and reimplanted pulmonary vein obstruction in 1.4% (0.7%-2.49%).
CONCLUSIONS
This is the first comprehensive analysis of outcomes following surgical repair of SVASD. The findings affirm the safety and effectiveness of surgery, establishing a reference point for evaluating emerging transcatheter therapies. Safety and efficacy profiles comparable to surgical repair are essential for widespread adoption of transcatheter treatments.

BACKGROUND
Antibodies against leucine-rich glioma inactivated protein 1 (LGI1) constitute a common form of autoimmune encephalitis. On MR imaging, it may show T2 FLAIR hyperintensities of the medial temporal lobe (T2 FLAIR-MTL), involve the basal ganglia, or be unremarkable.
PURPOSE
We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to obtain prevalence estimates of abnormal findings on MR imaging in anti-LGI1 encephalitis. A human brain map of the microarray gene expression was derived from the Allen Human Brain Atlas.
DATA SOURCES
PubMed and Web of Science were searched with the terms "LGI1" and "encephalitis" from inception to April 7, 2022.
STUDY SELECTION
Thirty-one research publications, encompassing case series and retrospective cohort and case-control studies, with >10 patients with anti-LGI1 encephalitis and MR imaging data were included.
DATA ANALYSIS
Pooled prevalence estimates were calculated using Freeman-Tukey double-arcsine transformation. Meta-analysis used DerSimonian and Laird random effects models.
DATA SYNTHESIS
Of 1318 patients in 30 studies, T2 FLAIR-MTL hyperintensities were present in 54% (95% CI, 0.48-0.60; I = 76%). Of 394 patients in 13 studies, 27% showed bilateral (95% CI, 0.19-0.36; I = 71%) and 24% unilateral T2 FLAIR-MTL abnormalities (95% CI, 0.17-0.32; I = 61%). Of 612 patients in 15 studies, basal ganglia abnormalities were present in 10% (95% CI, 0.06-0.15; I = 67%). expression was highest in the amygdala, hippocampus, and caudate nucleus.
LIMITATIONS
Only part of the spectrum of MR imaging abnormalities in anti-LGI1 encephalitis could be included in a meta-analysis. MR imaging findings were not the main outcomes in most studies, limiting available information. I values ranged from 62% to 76%, representing moderate-to-large heterogeneity.
CONCLUSIONS
T2 FLAIR-MTL hyperintensities were present in around one-half of patients with anti-LGI1. The prevalence of unilateral and bilateral presentations was similar, suggesting unilaterality should raise the suspicion of this disease in the appropriate clinical context. Around 10% of patients showed basal ganglia abnormalities, indicating that special attention should be given to this region. regional expression coincided with the most frequently reported abnormal findings on MR imaging. Regional specificity might be partially determined by expression levels of the target protein.

BACKGROUND
Contrast-induced neurotoxicity (CIN), is an increasingly recognised complication of endovascular procedures, presenting as a spectrum of neurological symptoms that mimic ischaemic stroke. The diagnosis of CIN remains a clinical challenge, and stereotypical imaging findings are not established. This study was conducted to characterise the neuroimaging findings in patients with CIN, to raise diagnostic awareness and improve decision making.
METHODS
We performed a systematic review of PubMed and Embase databases from inception (1946/1947) to June 2023 for reports of CIN following administration of iodinated contrast media. Studies with a final diagnosis of CIN, which provided details of neuroimaging were included. All included cases were pooled and descriptive analysis was conducted.
RESULTS
A total of 84 patients were included, with a median age of 64 years. A large proportion of patients had normal imaging (CT 40.8 %, MRI 53.1 %). CT abnormalities included cortical/subarachnoid hyperattenuation (42.1 %), cerebral oedema/sulcal effacement (26.3 %), and loss of grey-white differentiation (7.9 %). Frequently reported MRI abnormalities included brain parenchymal MRI signal change (40.8 %) and cerebral oedema (12.2 %), most commonly observed on FLAIR sequences (26.5 %). Characterisation of imaging findings according to anatomical location and clinical symptoms has been conducted.
CONCLUSIONS
Neuroimaging is an essential part of the diagnostic workup of CIN. Analysis of the anatomical location and laterality of imaging abnormalities may suggest relationship between radiological features and actual clinical symptoms, although this remains to be confirmed with dedicated study. Radiological abnormalities, particularly CT, appear to be transient and reversible in most patients.

INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVE
Graft stones in renal transplant recipients pose a unique challenge, finding effective interventions to ensure optimal graft function and patient well-being. Various methods of stone clearance have been described for graft stones, including percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). While PCNL is a promising approach for managing graft stones, specific outcomes and associated characteristics for this approach have not been comprehensively evaluated before. This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the use of PCNL as the primary intervention of graft stones by assessing stone-free rates (SFR), treatment impact on graft function, and perioperative complications.
METHODS
A retrospective clinical audit was performed for all transplants performed in a single center from 2007 to 2022, which included all graft lithiasis patients who were treated with PCNL. Both perioperative parameters and post-operative outcomes were collected. In addition, a systematic review including articles from MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science yielded 18 full-text articles published between 1/1/2000 and 15/11/2023. The results pertaining to patients who underwent PCNLs for graft stones were cross-referenced and thoroughly evaluated. The review encompassed a comprehensive analysis of clinical data, postoperative outcomes, and procedural details. The protocol for the systematic review was prospectively registered on PROSPERO (CRD42023486825).
RESULTS
In our center, 6 graft lithiasis patients were treated with PCNL. The initial SFR was 83.3%. SFR at 3 months and 1 year were both 100.0%. SFR at 3 years was 66.7%. Other centers reported initial SFR of 82.6-100.0% (interquartile range). SFR at 3 months, 1 year, 3 years was not well reported across the included studies. Incidence of graft lithiasis ranged from 0.44%-2.41%. Most common presentations at diagnosis were oliguria/anuria/acute kidney injury and asymptomatic. Reported complications included blood loss, transient hematuria, high urine output, sepsis, and damage to surrounding structures. The most commonly reported metabolic abnormalities in transplant lithiasis patients included hyperuricemia and hyperparathyroidism.
CONCLUSION
PCNL is a practical and efficient choice for addressing graft lithiasis, demonstrating excellent stone clearance and minimal perioperative complications. These findings show the importance of PCNL as a primary intervention in this complex patient population.

PURPOSE
The US Food and Drug Administration authorized lecanemab for the therapeutic use of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in January 2023. To assess the effectiveness and safety of lecanemab in treating AD, we thoroughly examined the studies that are currently accessible.
METHOD
Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis recommendations were followed. In order to find relevant studies on lecanemab, we carried out a thorough literature search utilizing the electronic databases MEDLINE via PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science, EBSCOhost, and Scopus. Excluding any research using experimental animals, we looked at lecanemab's effectiveness and side effects in treating AD in human clinical trials. Three randomized controlled studies were included.
FINDINGS
According to studies, lecanemab lessens clinical deterioration and reduces brain amyloid-beta plaques (difference,.45; 95% confidence interval,.67 to.23; p < .001). Participants who received lecanemab saw a greater frequency of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA)-H (17.3% vs. 9.0%) and ARIA-E (12.6% vs. 1.7%), which is a significant adverse outcome.
CONCLUSION
Lecanemab has been shown to have an impact on the two primary pathophysiologic indicators of AD (Aβ and tau). There are still a lot of unresolved issues related to lecanemab. Future research on the effectiveness and safety of lecanemab is advised in order to determine that the advantages of this medication exceed the disadvantages.

The purpose of this review was to systematically evaluate the available literature regarding the utility of US imaging as a method to predict Achilles and patellar tendon pain.
DESIGN
Systematic review and meta-analysis. Inclusion criteria were as follows: prospective studies of Achilles and patellar tendon pain development with baseline US measurements, follow-up clinical measurements, and English-language studies published after 2000. Exclusion criteria were prior rupture or surgery and presence of rheumatologic disorder.

MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES
Risk ratios (RRs) were identified for the development of pain in those with Achilles or patellar tendon sonographic abnormalities.
RESULTS
This review of 16 studies included 810 Achilles and 1156 patellar tendons from a variety of sports and demonstrated that the RR for pain development from abnormal Patellar and Achilles tendons was 6.07 [95% confidence interval (CI), 2.88-12.81; P < 0.001] and 3.96 [95% CI, 2.21-7.09; P < 0.001], respectively. The positive and negative predictive values of an abnormal US finding were 27.2% and 92.0% for the Achilles tendon and 27.2% and 93.5% for the patellar tendon, respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
This systematic review and meta-analysis identified that the use of asymptomatic US scanning of the Achilles or patellar tendon has a low positive predictive value but a high negative predictive value for the future development of pain.

A systematic review on safety and surgical and anesthetic risks of elective abdominal laparoscopic surgery in infants to guide laparoscopic ovarian tissue harvest for fertility preservation for infants facing gonadotoxic treatment.
BACKGROUND
Infertility is an important late effect of childhood cancer treatment. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation (OTC) is established as a safe procedure to preserve gonadal tissue in (pre)pubertal girls with cancer at high risk for infertility. However, it is unclear whether elective laparoscopic OTC can also be performed safely in infants <1 year with cancer. This systematic review aims to evaluate the reported risks in infants undergoing elective laparoscopy regarding mortality, and/or critical events (including resuscitation, circulatory, respiratory, neurotoxic, other) during and shortly after surgery.
METHODS
This systematic review followed the Preferred reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) reporting guideline. A systematic literature search in the databases Pubmed and EMbase was performed and updated on February 15, 2023. Search terms included 'infants', 'intubation', 'laparoscopy', 'mortality', 'critical events', 'comorbidities' and their synonyms. Papers published in English since 2000 and describing at least 50 patients under the age of 1 year undergoing laparoscopic surgery were included. Articles were excluded when the majority of patients had congenital abnormalities. Quality of the studies was assessed using the QUIPS risk of bias tool.
RESULTS
The Pubmed and Embase databases yielded a total of 12,401 unique articles, which after screening on title and abstract resulted in 471 articles to be selected for full text screening. Ten articles met the inclusion criteria for this systematic review, which included 1778 infants <1 years undergoing elective laparoscopic surgery. Mortality occurred once (death not surgery-related), resuscitation in none and critical events in 53/1778 of the procedures.
CONCLUSION
The results from this review illustrate that morbidity and mortality in infants without extensive comorbidities during and just after elective laparoscopic procedures seem limited, indicating that the advantages of performing elective laparoscopic OTC for infants with cancer at high risk of gonadal damage may outweigh the anesthetic and surgical risks of laparoscopic surgery in this age group.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging of the maxillary sinus is indispensable for implantologists, offering three-dimensional anatomical visualization, morphological variation detection, and abnormality identification, all critical for diagnostics and treatment planning in digital implant workflows. The following systematic review presented the current evidence pertaining to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for CBCT-derived maxillary sinus imaging tasks. An electronic search was conducted on PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane up until January 2024. Based on the eligibility criteria, 14 articles were included that reported on the use of AI for the automation of CBCT-derived maxillary sinus assessment tasks. The QUADAS-2 (Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies 2) tool was used to evaluate the risk of bias and applicability concerns. The AI models used were designed to automate tasks such as segmentation, classification, and prediction. Most studies related to automated maxillary sinus segmentation demonstrated high performance. In terms of classification tasks, the highest accuracy was observed for diagnosing sinusitis (99.7%), whereas the lowest accuracy was detected for classifying abnormalities such as fungal balls and chronic rhinosinusitis (83.0%). Regarding implant treatment planning, the classification of automated surgical plans for maxillary sinus floor augmentation based on residual bone height showed high accuracy (97%). Additionally, AI demonstrated high performance in predicting gender and sinus volume. In conclusion, although AI shows promising potential in automating maxillary sinus imaging tasks which could be useful for diagnostic and planning tasks in implantology, there is a need for more diverse datasets to improve the generalizability and clinical relevance of AI models. Future studies are suggested to focus on expanding the datasets, making the AI model's source available, and adhering to standardized AI reporting guidelines.

BACKGROUND
The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on acceleration of the orthodontic tooth movement and assess the evidence based on the available literature.
METHODS
The trial was registered and reported according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Electronic databases including PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Google Scholar were searched for randomized controlled studies of PRP on the rate of tooth movement. The search was restricted to articles published in English between January 2000 to 31 December 2023. The search was completed by two reviewers independently and the risk of bias was evaluated using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool (RoB 2.0) and meta-analysis was performed. Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) was done to determine the certainty of evidence.
RESULTS
Thirteen studies were included in the systematic review and 10 were included in the quantitative analysis. A random-effects model for meta-analysis of seven studies evaluating the rate of canine retraction revealed a statistically significant increase in the rate of orthodontic tooth movement of 0.38 mm/month in 1 month (121 patients; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.27-0.49; I = 35%; P < 0.001) which decreased to 0.09mm/month in the fourth month (80 patients; 95% CI 0.02-0.17; I = 0%; P < 0.02). Three studies that considered en masse retraction revealed a mean difference of 0.36mm over 3 months (40 patients; 95% CI -0.23 to 0.94; I = 74%; P < 0.23).
CONCLUSIONS
The study suggests that PRP application can accelerate tooth movement, but its effects decreased over 4 months. The results should be interpreted cautiously due to the study's inherent limitations.
