MOTIVATION
Low-field MRI has garnered significant attention in recent years due to its unique advantages in safety, cost-effectiveness and accessibility. However, lower field strength comes with an inherently lower SNR as its primary limitation.
GOALS
In this work, we introduce a novel volume RF coil design using coupled stack-up resonators to mitigate this challenge.
APPROACH
To demonstrate the proposed design, we take 0.5T as an example field strength and designed a prototype coupled stack-up volume coil operating in the 20MHz range.
RESULTS
Compared to the birdcage coil, the proposed design significantly improves RF field efficiency and homogeneity, ultimately enhancing the performance of low-field MRI.
IMPACT
The proposed stack-up volume coil outperforms the standard birdcage coil in B1 efficiency and field homogeneity at low fields, ultimately improving the performance of low-field MRI and advancing its applications.

Policies, adaptations, and ongoing challenges to naloxone, buprenorphine and nonprescription syringe access across four-states: Findings from an environmental scan and key informant interviews.
BACKGROUND
As the US opioid-involved morbidity and mortality increase, uptake and implementation of evidence-based interventions remain key policy responses. Respond to Prevent was a multi-component, randomized trial implemented in four states and two large pharmacy chains with the aim of improving the pharmacy's capacity to provide naloxone, dispense buprenorphine, and sell nonprescription syringes (NPS). We sought to provide context and assess how policies and organizational practices affect communities and pharmacies across the study states.
METHODS
Using a multi-method approach we: 1) conducted an environmental scan of published literature and online materials spanning January 2015 to June 2021, 2) created timelines of key events pertaining to those policies and practices and 3) conducted semi-structured interviews with stakeholders (key informants) at the state and local levels (N=36) to provide further context for the policies and practices we discovered.
RESULTS
Key informants discussed state policies, pharmacy policies and local practices that facilitated access to naloxone, buprenorphine and NPSs. Interviewees from all states spoke about the impact of naloxone standing orders, active partnerships with community-based harm reduction organizations, and some federal and state policies like Medicaid coverage for naloxone and buprenorphine, and buprenorphine telehealth permissions as key facilitators. They also discussed patient stigma, access in rural settings, and high cost of medications as barriers.
CONCLUSION
Findings underscore the important role harm reduction-related policies play in boosting and institutionalizing interventions in communities and pharmacies while also identifying structural barriers where more focused state and local attention is needed.

BACKGROUND
Over the past decade, the pharmacy sector's policy, academic and professional spheres have increasingly drawn attention to the opportunities to better leverage the untapped potential of the community pharmacy sector in contributing to global efforts to reduce antimicrobial resistance (AMR). While efforts are in train, progress is slow.
OBJECTIVE
To draw insights from global experts in the field to identify a broad range of potential future policy directions to support community pharmacists' involvement in antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).
METHODS
A modified Delphi technique, comprising two survey rounds to build consensus amongst global community pharmacy sector stakeholders and opinion leaders. In Round 1, participants rated their level of agreement with 28 statements across the three domains of policy design, implementation design, and monitoring and evaluation. Participants were also invited to contribute feedback in Round 1, which was reflected as new statements ( = 10) in Round 2. In Round 2, participants were asked to re-assess Round 1 statements in view of the group consensus and to rate the new statements.
RESULTS
289 participants were invited to participate. 48/289 (17% response rate) completed Round 1, and 25/42 (60% response rate) completed Round 2. Consensus (defined as >70% agreement) was achieved for 79% ( = 30) of the statements across the three domains.
CONCLUSION
Pharmacy sector experts agreed that acknowledging community pharmacists in AMS national action plans is an important component, signalling a recognition of the sector's contribution to whole-of-nation AMS efforts. Implementation components that achieved consensus reflect the profession's evolution to a professional service driven model, particularly in complementary AMS initiatives including infection prevention and control measures. Context-specific adjustments to support implementing these AMS measures will be required, in addition to striking the appropriate balance to support the pace of increased community pharmacists'involvement in AMS with building whole-of-profession buy-in.

Synergistic medication, a crucial therapeutic strategy in cancer treatment, involves combining multiple drugs to enhance therapeutic effectiveness and mitigate side effects. Current research predominantly employs deep learning models for extracting features from cell line and cancer drug structure data. However, these methods often overlook the intricate nonlinear relationships within the data, neglecting the distribution characteristics and weighted probability densities of gene expression data in multi-dimensional space. It also fails to fully exploit the structural information of cancer drugs and the potential interactions between drug molecules. To overcome these challenges, we introduce an innovative end-to-end learning model specifically tailored for cancer drugs, named Dual Kernel Density and Positional Encoding (DKPE) for Graph Synergy Representation Network (DKPEGraphSYN). This model is engineered to refine the prediction of drug combination synergy effects in cancer. DKPE-GraphSYN utilizes Dual Kernel Density Estimation and Positional Encoding techniques to effectively capture the weighted probability density and spatial distribution information of gene expression, while exploring the interactions and potential relationships between cancer drug molecules via a graph neural network. Experimental results show that our prediction model achieves significant performance enhancements in forecasting drug synergy effects on a comprehensive cancer drug and cell line synergy dataset, achieving an AUPR of 0.969 and an AUC of 0.976. These results confirm our model's superior accuracy in predicting cancer drug combinations, providing a supportive method for clinical medication strategy in cancer.

As the apparent intelligence of artificial neural networks (ANNs) advances, they are increasingly likened to the functional networks and information processing capabilities of the human brain. Such comparisons have typically focused on particular modalities, such as vision or language. The next frontier is to use the latest advances in ANNs to design and investigate scalable models of higher-level cognitive processes, such as conscious information access, which have historically lacked concrete and specific hypotheses for scientific evaluation. In this work, we propose and then empirically assess an embodied agent with a structure based on global workspace theory (GWT) as specified in the recently proposed "indicator properties" of consciousness. In contrast to prior works on GWT which utilized single modalities, our agent is trained to navigate 3D environments based on realistic audiovisual inputs. We find that the global workspace architecture performs better and more robustly at smaller working memory sizes, as compared to a standard recurrent architecture. Beyond performance, we perform a series of analyses on the learned representations of our architecture and share findings that point to task complexity and regularization being essential for feature learning and the development of meaningful attentional patterns within the workspace.

The Effect of the Combination of Ginseng, Tribulus Terrestris, and L-arginine on the Sexual Performance of Men with Erectile Dysfunction: a randomized, double-blind, parallel, and placebo-controlled clinical trial.
OBJECTIVES
Nitric oxide is the most important mediator of penile erection after the onset of sexual excitement. It activates cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), increasing penile blood flow. Most pharmaceutical medications prevent enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) from breaking down cGMP, thus keeping its level high. However, due to the adverse effects of pharmacological therapies, herbal drugs that improve sexual function have gained attention recently. This study aimed to investigate the combined effects of , , and L-arginine amino acid on the sexual performance of individuals with erectile dysfunction (ED) using the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) questionnaire.
METHODS
Over three months, 98 men with erectile dysfunction were randomly assigned to receive either 500 mg of herbal supplements or placebo pills. Each herbal tablet contained 100 mg of protodioscin, 35 mg of ginsenosides, and 250 mg of L-arginine.
RESULTS
The results showed that the changes in the average scores of ILEF-5 within each group before and after the intervention indicated that all parameters related to the improvement of sexual function in patients with erectile dysfunction improved in the herbal treatment group (p < 0.001). The herbal group significantly improved IIEF-5 scores in non-diabetics (p < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the changes of IIEF-5 scores between the two intervention and control groups in diabetic patients.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, , , and L-arginine have properties that increase energy and strengthen sexual function, making them suitable for patients with sexual disorders.

OBJECTIVE
To investigate the status quo and the needs of medical imaging technicians (MITs) in the radiology department of secondary and tertiary hospitals in China, so as to provide references and support for the development of the medical imaging technology industry and the relevant policymaking by health administrative departments.
METHODS
The questionnaire was developed by the Chinese Society of Imaging Technology. The radiology department of each hospital involved in the survey recommended one MIT to fill out the online questionnaire. The contents included: (a) the basic information of the hospital; (b) a general overview of the MITs in the hospital; (c) daily work; (d) career development and promotion; (e) research status and needs, etc. Differences in the number of MIT staff were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test and the chi-square test was used to compare the differences in the selected numbers of MITs in need between regions or between different levels of hospitals.
RESULTS
In this investigation, valid questionnaires were finally obtained from a total of 5403 hospitals in 31 provinces in China. The total number of MITs of the hospitals covered in the sample was 67481. The number of MITs in each hospital was 9 (5, 16). The male-to-female ratio was 1.41:1. MITs who were 20 to 40 years old accounted for 78%. The proportions of MITs who had completed doctorate, master's, undergraduate, junior college, and technical secondary school or lower level education were 0.6%, 3.3%, 60.7%, 30.8%, and 4.55%, respectively. The proportions of chief MITs, deputy chief MITs, supervisor MITs, primary MITs, assistant technician and those below were 1.0%, 4.21%, 22.1%, 51.8%, and 20.9%, respectively. The overall professional satisfaction of MITs was good. "Lack of opportunities for learning and communication" was quoted as the main problem MITs encountered in regard to improving their job-related competency. 59.2% of the respondents had not published any academic papers in the past five years, and only 7.0% of the respondents had published in journals included in the Science Citation Index (SCI) in the past five years.
CONCLUSION
MITs in China are on average relatively young and the number of MITs has greatly increased. At this stage, more attention should be given to the cultivation of talents and continuing education of MITs and the construction of the discipline should be further strengthened, so as to provide strong support for the development of the medical imaging technology industry in China.

OBJECTIVE
This study aims to systematically evaluate the protective role of quercetin (QCT), a naturally occurring flavonoid, against oxidative damage in human endometrial stromal cells (HESCs) induced by hydrogen peroxide (HO). Oxidative stress, such as that induced by HO, is known to contribute significantly to cellular damage and has been implicated in various reproductive health issues. The study is focused on investigating how QCT interacts with specific molecular pathways to mitigate this damage. Special attention was given to the p38 MAPK/NOX4 signaling pathway, which is crucial to the regulation of oxidative stress responses in cellular systems. By elucidating these mechanisms, the study seeks to confirm the potential of QCT not only as a protective agent against oxidative stress but also as a therapeutic agent that could be integrated in treatments of conditions characterized by heightened oxidative stress in endometrial cells.
METHODS
cultures of HESCs were treated with QCT at different concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 40 μmol/L) for 24 h to verify the non-toxic effects of QCT on normal endometrial cells. Subsequently, 250 μmol/L HO was used to incubate the cells for 12 h to establish an HO-induced HESCs injury model. HESCs were pretreated with QCT for 24 h, which was followed by stimulation with HO. Then, CCK-8 assay was performed to examine the cell viability and to screen for the effective intervention concentration. HESCs were divided into 3 groups, the control group, the HO model group, and the HO+QCT group. Intracellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) were precisely quantified using the DCFH-DA fluorescence assay, a method known for its accuracy in detecting and quantifying oxidative changes within the cell. The mitochondrial membrane potential was determined by JC-1 staining. Annexin Ⅴ/PI double staining and flow cytometry were performed to determine the effect of QCT on HO-induced apoptosis of HESCs. Furthermore, to delve deeper into the cellular mechanisms underlying the observed effects, Western blot analysis was conducted to measure the expression levels of the critical proteins involved in oxidative stress response, including NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4), p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK), and phosphorylated p38 MAPK (p-p38 MAPK). This analysis helps increase understanding of the specific intracellular signaling pathways affected by QCT treatment, giving special attention to its potential for modulation of the p38 MAPK/NOX4 pathway, which plays a significant role in cellular defense mechanisms against oxidative stress.
RESULTS
In this study, we started off by assessing the toxicity of QCT on normal endometrial cells. Our findings revealed that QCT at various concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 40 μmol/L) did not exhibit any cytotoxic effects, which laid the foundation for further investigation into its protective roles. In the HO-induced HESCs injury model, a significant reduction in cell viability was observed, which was linked to the generation of ROS and the resultant oxidative damage. However, pretreatment with QCT (10 μmol/L and 20 μmol/L) significantly enhanced cell viability after 24 h (<0.05), with the 20 μmol/L concentration showing the most substantial effect. This suggests that QCT can effectively reverse the cellular damage caused by HO. Furthermore, the apoptosis assays demonstrated a significant increase in the apoptosis rates in the HO model group compared to those in the control group (<0.01). However, co-treatment with QCT significantly reversed this trend (<0.05), indicating QCT's potential protective role in mitigating cell apoptosis. ROS assays showed that, compared to that in the control group, the average fluorescence intensity of ROS in the HO model group significantly increased (<0.01). QCT treatment significantly reduced the ROS fluorescence intensity in the HO+QCT group compared to the that in the HO model group, suggesting an effective alleviation of oxidative damage (<0.05). JC-1 staining for mitochondrial membrane potential changes revealed that compared to that in the control, the proportion of cells with decreased mitochondrial membrane potential significantly increased in the HO model group (<0.01). However, this proportion was significantly reduced in the QCT-treated group compared to that of the HO model group (<0.05). Finally, Western blot analysis indicated that the expression levels of NOX4 and p-p38 MAPK proteins were elevated in the HO model group compared to those of the control group (<0.05). Following QCT treatment, these protein levels significantly decreased compared to those of the HO model group (<0.05). These results suggest that QCT may exert its protective effects against oxidative stress by modulating the p38 MAPK/NOX4 signaling pathway.
CONCLUSION
QCT has demonstrated significant protective effects against HO-induced oxidative damage in HESCs. This protection is primarily achieved through the effective reduction of ROS accumulation and the inhibition of critical signaling pathways involved in the oxidative stress response, notably the p38 MAPK/NOX4 pathway. The results of this study reveal that QCT's ability to modulate these pathways plays a key role in alleviating cellular damage associated with oxidative stress conditions. This indicates not only its potential as a protective agent against cellular oxidative stress, but also highlights its potential for therapeutic applications in treating conditions characterized by increased oxidative stress in the endometrium, thereby offering the prospect of enhancing reproductive health. Future studies should explore the long-term effects of QCT and its clinical efficacy , thereby providing a clear path toward its integration into therapeutic protocols.

INTRO
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a technique for measuring brain activity that is widely used in neuroscience research. Event-related potentials (ERPs) in the EEG make it possible to study sensory and cognitive processes in the brain. Previous reports have shown that aerobic exercise can have an impact on components of ERPs such as amplitude and latency. However, they focused on the measurement of ERPs after exercise.
OBJECTIVES
The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the feasibility of measuring ERPs during cycling, and to assess the impact of cycling on ERPs during cycling.
METHODS
We followed the PRISMA guidelines for new systematic reviews. To be eligible, studies had to include healthy adults and measure ERPs during cycling. All articles were found using Google Scholar and by searching references. Data extracted from the studies included: objectives of ERP studies, ERP paradigm, EEG system, study population data, exercise characteristics (duration, intensity, pedaling cadence), and ERP and behavioral outcomes. The Cochrane Risk of Bias 2 tool was used to assess study bias.
RESULTS
Twenty studies were selected. The effect of cycling on ERPs was mainly based on a comparison of P3 wave amplitude between cycling and resting states, using an attentional task. The ERP paradigm most often used was the auditory oddball task. Exercise characteristics and study methods varied considerably.
DISCUSSION
It is possible to measure ERPs during cycling under conditions that are likely to introduce more artifacts, including a 3-h athletic exercise session and cycling outdoors. Secondly, no assessment of the effect of cycling on ERPs was possible, because the methods differed too widely between studies. In addition, the theories proposed to explain the results sometimes seemed to contradict each other. Although most studies reported significant results, the direction of the effects was inconsistent. Finally, we suggest some areas for improvement for future studies on the subject.

OBJECTIVE
Baicalin and baicalein are natural flavonoids reported for the first time from Georgi. Recently, attention has been paid to these valuable flavonoids due to their promising effects. This paper aims to have a comprehensive review of their pharmacological effects.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
An extensive search through scientific databases including Scopus, PubMed, and ISI Web of Science was established.
RESULTS
According to literature, these compounds have been mainly effective in the treatment of neurological and neurodegenerative diseases, hepatic and cardiovascular disorders, metabolic syndrome, and cancers through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant pathways. Induction of apoptosis and autophagy, and inhibition of migration and metastasis are the main mechanisms for their cytotoxic and antitumor activities. Decreasing inflammation, reducing oxidative stress, regulating the metabolism of lipids, and decreasing fibrosis, apoptosis, and steatosis are their main hepatoprotective mechanisms. Inhibiting the development of cardiac fibrosis and reducing inflammation, oxidative stress, and apoptosis are also the mechanisms suggested for cardioprotective activities. Decreasing the accumulation of inflammatory mediators and improving cognitive function and depressive-like behaviours are the main mechanisms for neurological and neurodegenerative activities.
CONCLUSION
The findings suggest the therapeutic potential of baicalin and baicalein. However, complementary research in different and models to investigate their mechanisms of action as well as clinical trials to evaluate their efficacy and safety are suggested.
