Odontogenic fibromyxoma typically presents as painless swelling in the jaw, and clinically, it grows slowly, becoming benign and asymptomatic. It causes the cortical plates to expand gradually, which leads to mobility and drifting of the teeth. Root resorption is also common. The tumor is locally aggressive in nature. It is also known to have a high recurrence rate. We present the case of a 30-year-old female patient who was diagnosed and treated for odontogenic fibromyxoma of the maxilla conservatively with enucleation. The radiograph showed a multilocular lesion, which can be confused with ameloblastoma, aneurysmal bone cyst, or odontogenic keratocyst. Hence, with proper clinical, radiographic, and histopathological examination, a correct diagnosis can be made and adequate treatment can be planned.

OBJECTIVE
To evaluate the diagnostic capability of artificial intelligence (AI) for detecting and classifying odontogenic cysts and tumors, with special emphasis on odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) and ameloblastoma.
STUDY DESIGN
Nine electronic databases and the gray literature were examined. Human-based studies using AI algorithms to detect or classify odontogenic cysts and tumors by using panoramic radiographs or CBCT were included. Diagnostic tests were evaluated, and a meta-analysis was performed for classifying OKCs and ameloblastomas. Heterogeneity, risk of bias, and certainty of evidence were evaluated.
RESULTS
Twelve studies concluded that AI is a promising tool for the detection and/or classification of lesions, producing high diagnostic test values. Three articles assessed the sensitivity of convolutional neural networks in classifying similar lesions using panoramic radiographs, specifically OKC and ameloblastoma. The accuracy was 0.893 (95% CI 0.832-0.954). AI applied to cone beam computed tomography produced superior accuracy based on only 4 studies. The results revealed heterogeneity in the models used, variations in imaging examinations, and discrepancies in the presentation of metrics.
CONCLUSION
AI tools exhibited a relatively high level of accuracy in detecting and classifying OKC and ameloblastoma. Panoramic radiography appears to be an accurate method for AI-based classification of these lesions, albeit with a low level of certainty. The accuracy of CBCT model data appears to be high and promising, although with limited available data.

INTRODUCTION
Unicystic ameloblastomas are a rare variant of ameloblastomas, which are characterized by slow growth and being relatively locally aggressive, with the main site of origin being the posterior portion of the mandible, it also refers to those cystic lesions that show clinical, radiographic, or gross features of a jaw cyst.
PRESENTATION OF CASE
A 27-year-old female patient presented with a chief complaint of extensive mass of mandible along with severe swelling and numbness of right lips and chin. The oral examination revealed a swelling in the molar region of the right mandible with buccal plate expansion. The radiographic and histopathologic features were consistent with the diagnosis of unicystic ameloblastoma. Consequently, the lesion was surgically removed, and no clinical or radiological recurrence was detected during 5 years post-operative follow-up.
DISCUSSION
While previous reports of unicystic ameloblastoma in the posterior portion of the jaw showed favorable prognosis lesions appeared as a unilocular entity, this case reports multilocular appearance and aggressive behavior of expansive unicystic ameloblastoma. Furthermore, while some studies linked the unilocular appearance of unicystic ameloblastoma to impacted tooth, our case suggests a possible traumatic link of preexisting lesion into multilocular unicystic ameloblastoma related to impacted tooth.
CONCLUSIONS
This case presents a rare multilocular unicystic ameloblastoma appearance, notably with impacted tooth involvement. It also indicates the potential transformation of solid ameloblastoma into unicystic ameloblastom.

Radicular cysts are the most common forms of cysts in the jaws. They develop from epithelial residues in the periodontal ligament in response to periapical infection following pulpal necrosis. This condition is typically asymptomatic and mostly affects the tooth's apices. It primarily affects non-vital teeth and is characterized by inflammation. Cyst development is the final stage of the inflammatory process after a periapical infection; hence, it often occurs later in life. A cyst in the maxilla can occasionally spread across the maxillary sinus. Radicular cysts can be treated with surgical endodontics, the removal of the problematic tooth, enucleation with primary closure, or marsupialization and enucleation. This case report discusses a successful surgical therapy for an infected radicular cyst.

One of the most prevalent types of odontogenic cysts is a dentigerous cyst, which is usually connected to the crown of an immature tooth. We report the case of an 11-year-old boy, who had a swelling over his left cheek, which was determined to be a dentigerous cyst by radiological imaging and clinical examination. Over the course of two months, the peanut-sized mass grew to 3x2 cm. A massive, well-defined cystic lesion connected to an unerupted premolar tooth was found on a CT scan of the left maxillary alveolar arch and sinus floor. Under general anesthesia, the patient had a Caldwell-Luc surgery to remove the cyst. In order to avoid difficulties related to cyst formation, which can invade surrounding tissues and even result in cancer if left untreated, early detection using radiological imaging is essential. Complete excision of the cyst is the treatment, particularly for big lesions, in order to limit morbidity and lower the likelihood of aggressive behavior. This case emphasizes the necessity of thorough examination and surgical intervention when necessary, underscoring the significance of early identification and adequate therapy to minimize potential problems related to dentigerous cysts. In cases of dentigerous cysts, early intervention, and appropriate surgical procedures are critical to reducing morbidity and improving patient outcomes.

BACKGROUND
The purpose of this systematic review (SR) is to gather evidence on the use of machine learning (ML) models in the diagnosis of intraosseous lesions in gnathic bones and to analyze the reliability, impact, and usefulness of such models. This SR was performed in accordance with the PRISMA 2022 guidelines and was registered in the PROSPERO database (CRD42022379298).
METHODS
The acronym PICOS was used to structure the inquiry-focused review question "Is Artificial Intelligence reliable for the diagnosis of intraosseous lesions in gnathic bones?" The literature search was conducted in various electronic databases, including PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Lilacs, IEEE Xplore, and Gray Literature (Google Scholar and ProQuest). Risk of bias assessment was performed using PROBAST, and the results were synthesized by considering the task and sampling strategy of the dataset.
RESULTS
Twenty-six studies were included (21 146 radiographic images). Ameloblastomas, odontogenic keratocysts, dentigerous cysts, and periapical cysts were the most frequently investigated lesions. According to TRIPOD, most studies were classified as type 2 (randomly divided). The F1 score was presented in only 13 studies, which provided the metrics for 20 trials, with a mean of 0.71 (±0.25).
CONCLUSION
There is no conclusive evidence to support the usefulness of ML-based models in the detection, segmentation, and classification of intraosseous lesions in gnathic bones for routine clinical application. The lack of detail about data sampling, the lack of a comprehensive set of metrics for training and validation, and the absence of external testing limit experiments and hinder proper evaluation of model performance.

BACKGROUND
To demonstrate and analyze the F-FDG positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) findings in this rare nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS).
CASE PRESENTATION
A 71-year-old woman with the left invasive breast cancer was treated with hormone therapy for six months and underwent the F-FDG PET/CT examination for efficacy evaluation. F-FDG PET/CT revealed the improvement after treatment and other unexpected findings, including multiple nodules on the skin with F-FDG uptake, bone expansion of cystic lesions in the bilateral ribs, ectopic calcifications and dilated right ureter. She had no known family history. Then, the patient underwent surgical excision of the all skin nodules and the postoperative pathology were multiple basal cell carcinomas. Finally, the comprehensive diagnosis of NBCCS was made. The patient was still in follow-up. Additionally, we have summarized the reported cases (n = 3) with F-FDG PET/CT from the literature.
CONCLUSIONS
It is important to recognize this syndrome on F-FDG PET/CT because of different diagnoses and therapeutic consequences.

CONTEXT
Glucose uptake may be considered the rate-limiting step for the growth and metabolism of the cancer cell. Studies on GLUT1 have shown that GLUT1 is involved in cell survival and proliferation in both healthy and pathological circumstances. GLUT1 expression is regarded as one of the crucial elements in the development of local aggressiveness, tumour invasiveness, and metastasis, particularly in malignant tumours. The role of glut1 in odontogenic cysts and tumours has remained uncertain.
AIM
The aim of the study is to assess the expression of Glut1 in dentigerous cysts, odontogenic keratocysts, and ameloblastoma.
SETTINGS AND DESIGN
The study was conducted in GSL Dental College. The study design was a resprospective immunohistochemical study.
METHODS AND MATERIAL
Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded blocks of histologically confirmed cases (n = 50), 10 cases of odontogenic keratocysts, dentigerous cysts, ameloblastomas solid, ameloblastomas unicystic, and dental follicles each. Brown colour staining was considered as positive staining for GLUT1. Quantitative analysis was performed by counting the number of labelled cells, and semi-quantitative analysis was conducted by assigning immunostaining intensity scores.
STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
Chi-square test was used to compare differences between the groups. A value of ≤0.05 was considered as statistically significant.
RESULTS
Odontogenic keratocysts and unicystic ameloblastoma showed ≥50% of label cells with strong intensity of staining. Odontogenic keratocysts and solid ameloblastoma showed sub-cellular localisation of staining in the cytoplasm and membrane. Dentigerous cysts exhibited combined nucleus, cytoplasm, and membrane sub-cellular localisation of staining.
CONCLUSIONS
The development of ameloblastomas, odontogenic keratocysts, and dentigerous cysts appears to be influenced by GLUT-1. Variation in its expression may aid in explanation of some of the differences in biological activity of these lesions.

INTRODUCTION
A postsurgical ciliated cyst (PSCC) is an epithelial cyst that usually develops in the maxilla, although in rare cases, it can affect the mandible or other facial bones. The typical age of diagnosis is 40-50 years, with no gender prevalence, and the mean cyst development occurs approximately 10-15 years following a surgical or traumatic event. Some epithelial respiratory cells can be trapped into the bone tissue during maxillary surgical procedures or maxillary fractures. The pathogenetic mechanism can be attributed to an inflammatory process that stimulates epithelial proliferation, leading to cyst expansion caused by osmotic pressure difference.
METHODS
This study presents case series involving three surgical ciliated cysts located in the left maxilla, affecting two female patients (aged 49 and 55 years) and one male patient (aged 39 years). In all three cases, symptoms such as pain or swelling were mild and not consistently present. Two cases showed cyst development 10 and 15 years after implant placement, while one case was not associated with any surgical or traumatic event. CT scan identified well-defined unilocular lesions in the maxillary bone in each patient.
RESULTS
Histopathological examination of the surgical specimens confirmed the suspected diagnosis of a PSCC of maxilla. The cystic walls consisted of fibrous connective tissue with chronic inflammatory infiltrate, lined exclusively by a thin layer of ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium. In the third patient, it was not possible to rule out an unusual radicular cyst.
CONCLUSIONS
Although PSCCs are not commonly encountered in daily practice, clinicians should consider this possibility including it in the differential diagnosis of odontogenic jaw cysts and benign jaw tumors, particularly in patients who have undergone previous surgeries in the maxillary area.

BACKGROUND
Benign odontogenic lesions (BOLs) can cause severe jaw bone defects and compromise the quality of life of patients. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are well-established and versatile players in mediating pathophysiological events. EVs in the interstitial space (tissue-derived EVs or Ti-EVs) possess higher specificity and sensitivity in disease-related biomarker discovery. However, the role of Ti-EV-loaded proteins in mediating the development of BOLs has remained untapped. Herein, we aim to explore the contribution of Ti-EV-loaded proteins to the development of BOLs.
METHODS
Samples were obtained from 3 with dental follicle, 3 with dentigerous cyst (DC), 7 with odontogenic keratocyst (OKC), and 3 patients with ameloblastoma (AM). Tissue-derived EVs were then extracted, purified, and validated using ultracentrifugation, transmission electron microscopy, and western blotting. Proteins from Ti-EVs were analyzed using LC-ESI tandem mass spectroscopy and differentially expressed proteins were screened, which was then validated by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays.
RESULTS
The protein profile of Ti-EVs in each group was mapped by LC-MS analysis. The top 10 abundant proteins in BOL-derived Ti-EVs were COL6A3, COL6A1, ALB, HIST1H4A, HBB, ACTB, HIST1H2BD, ANXA2, COL6A2 and FBN1. Additionally, unique proteins in the Ti-EVs from various lesions were identified. Moreover, focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (MyD88) showed higher expressions in Ti-EVs derived from OKC and AM, which were confirmed by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining.
CONCLUSIONS
Ti-EVs containing FAK and MyD88 might be related to the development of OKC and AM, which can be potential therapeutic targets.
