The data on the characteristics of patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) following levothyroxine (LT4) replacement are limited. Here, we report a case and systematically review published cases of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) following levothyroxine (LT4) replacement. The systematic review was performed as per the PRISMA guidelines. Our patient is a 46-year-old lady with hypothyroidism (thyrotropin: 319 mIU/L, free thyroxine: 0.04 ng/dl), treated with 100 μg.d of LT4 and presented a month later with headache, visual diminution, bilateral lateral rectus palsies, and papilledema. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure was 32 cmH2O. Drainage of CSF, oral acetazolamide, and modification of LT4 dose resulted in prompt symptomatic improvement and complete reversal of IIH. In the systematic review (n = 21), the median age of patients (7 males) was 13 (IQR: 8.8- 26.5) years. The median duration of hypothyroid symptoms was 4 (n = 10, IQR: 0.44-6.25) years whereas that from initiation of LT4 replacement to the diagnosis of IIH was 2 (n = 20, IQR: 1.17-4) months. Initial median serum thyrotropin and thyroxine were 100 (n = 14, IQR: 72.5-421.6) mIU/L, and 1.13 (n = 12, IQR: 1.0-2.45) μg/dl which changed to 2.2 (n = 7; IQR: 0.23-3.40) mIU/L and 8.90 μg/dl (n = 8, IQR: 6.43-14.85 μg/dl), respectively at diagnosis of IIH after LT4 treatment with median daily LT4 doses of 0.89 (n = 8, IQR: 0.60 - 1.17) times the maximum recommended dose for age. To conclude, we report an adult woman with IIH following LT4 replacement for primary hypothyroidism, a rare entity. Pediatric age, prolonged symptom duration, and use of higher LT4 replacement dose may be associated with IIH following LT4 replacement.

Anti-PD-(L)1 antibody monotherapy or in combination with VEGF(R) blockade has been applied widely for cancer treatment. Whether combination therapy increases irAEs still remains controversial. A systematic review and meta-analysis comparing PD-(L)1 and VEGF(R) blockade combination therapy with PD-(L)1 inhibitors alone was performed. Phase II or III randomized clinical trials reporting irAEs or trAEs were included. The protocol was registered with PROSPERO, CRD42021287603. Overall, 77 articles were included in the meta-analysis. A total of 31 studies involving 8,638 participants were pooled and an incidence for PD-(L)1 inhibitor monotherapy with any grade and grade ≥3 irAEs of 0.25 (0.20, 0.32) and 0.06 (0.05, 0.07), respectively, were reported. Two studies with 863 participants pooled for PD-(L)1 and VEGF(R) blockade showed that an incidence of any grade and grade ≥3 irAEs were 0.47 (0.30, 0.65) and 0.11 (0.08, 0.16), respectively. Regarding pairwise comparisons for irAEs, only one study was included, indicating no significant difference between the two regimens in terms of colitis, hyperthyroidism, and hypothyroidism for any grade and grade ≥3, while there was a trend of higher incidence for any grade hyperthyroidism under the combination therapy. The incidence of reactive cutaneous capillary endothelial proliferation (RCCEP) was as high as 0.80 under camrelizumab monotherapy. Total incidences of any grade and grade ≥3 irAEs were higher in the combination treatment group. Direct comparisons indicated no significant difference between the two regimens for any grade and grade ≥3 specific irAEs. RCCEP and thyroid disorders need to be paid attention to clinically. Moreover, trials with direct comparisons are needed and the safety profiles of the two regimens should be further explored. Menopause is one the most crucial stages in a female's life. Identifying the education gaps regarding menopause is important, thus this study aims to explain the health-related needs of females during menopause. Scopus, PubMed, Scientific Information Database, and Web of Science databases were searched for the available observational (cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional), systematic review, meta-analysis, and clinical trial studies (2007-2021) using keywords, such as 'Educational Needs Assessment,' 'Assessment of Healthcare Needs,' 'menopause,' 'climacteric,' 'premenopause,' and 'postmenopause.' A total of 180 out of 5,705 papers were evaluated after considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The educational needs of females during menopause in the reviewed studies include osteoporosis, oral and dental problems, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, lung diseases, infectious diseases, musculoskeletal problems, urinary problems, breast cancer, defecation problems, genital disorders, special diseases such as eye diseases and hypothyroidism and hormone therapy, mental disorders, cognitive function, sleep disorders, sexual disorders, physical activity, supplement consumption, public health issues, health education, fall, and nutrition. The study results reveal that females during postmenopause require training, counseling, and support in all aspects to get through this challenging time, and providing these services, infrastructure, appropriate policy, and the use and support of the medical team's capacity are all required.

BACKGROUND
Subacute thyroiditis (SAT) is a self-limiting thyroid inflammatory disease occurring specifically after upper respiratory tract infections. Since COVID-19 is a respiratory disease leading to multi-organ involvements, we aimed to systematically review the literature regarding SAT secondary to COVID-19.
METHODS
We searched Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane, Web of Science, ProQuest, and LitCovid databases using the terms "subacute thyroiditis" and "COVID-19" and their synonyms from inception to November 3, 2022. We included the original articles of the patients with SAT secondary to COVID-19. Studies reporting SAT secondary to COVID-19 vaccination or SAT symptoms' manifestation before the COVID-19 infection were not included.
RESULTS
Totally, 820 articles were retained. Having removed the duplicates, 250 articles remained, out of which 43 articles (40 case reports and three case series) with a total of 100 patients, were eventually selected. The patients aged 18-85 years (Mean: 42.70, SD: 11.85) and 68 (68%) were women. The time from the onset of COVID-19 to the onset of SAT symptoms varied from zero to 168 days (Mean: 28.31, SD: 36.92). The most common symptoms of SAT were neck pain in 69 patients (69%), fever in 54 (54%), fatigue and weakness in 34 (34%), and persistent palpitations in 31 (31%). The most common ultrasonographic findings were hypoechoic regions in 73 (79%), enlarged thyroid in 46 (50%), and changes in thyroid vascularity in 14 (15%). Thirty-one patients (31%) were hospitalized, and 68 (68%) were treated as outpatients. Corticosteroids were the preferred treatment in both the inpatient and outpatient settings (25 inpatients (81%) and 44 outpatients (65%)). Other preferred treatments were nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nine inpatients (29%) and 17 outpatients (25%)) and beta-blockers (four inpatients (13%) and seven outpatients (10%)). After a mean duration of 61.59 days (SD: 67.07), 21 patients (23%) developed hypothyroidism and thus, levothyroxine-based treatment was used in six of these patients and the rest of these patients did not receive levothyroxine.
CONCLUSION
SAT secondary to COVID-19 seems to manifest almost similarly to the conventional SAT. However, except for the case reports and case series, lack of studies has limited the quality of the data at hand.

PURPOSE
The aim of this study was to comprehensively review all studies examining clinical outcomes of craniospinal irradiation with proton radiotherapy for medulloblastoma (MB) to determine whether theoretical dosimetric advantages have translated into superior clinical outcomes (including survival and toxicities) compared with traditional photon-based techniques.
METHODS AND MATERIALS
We performed a systematic review based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Articles reporting on clinical outcomes of pediatric and/or adult patients with MB treated with proton radiotherapy were included. Evidence quality was assessed using a modified Newcastle Ottawa scale and GRADE score.
RESULTS
Thirty-five studies were included, with a total of 2059 patients reported (representing an estimated 630-654 unique patients). None of the studies were randomized, 12 were comparative, 9 were prospective, 3 were mixed, and 22 were retrospective. Average mean/median follow-up was 5.0 years (range, 4 weeks to 12.6 years). The majority of studies (n = 19) reported on treatment with passive scatter proton beams exclusively. Average study quality was 6.0 out of 9 (median, 6; standard deviation, 1.6). Nine studies scored ≥8 out of 9 on the modified Newcastle Ottawa Scale; an overall "moderate" GRADE score was assigned. Well-designed comparative cohort studies with adequate follow-up demonstrate superior neurocognitive outcomes, lower incidence of hypothyroidism (23% vs 69%), sex hormone deficiency (3% vs 19%), greater heights, and reduced acute toxicities in patients treated with protons compared to photons. Overall survival (up to 10 years), progression-free survival (up to 10 years), brain stem injury, and other endocrine outcomes were similar to those reported for photon radiation. There was insufficient evidence to make conclusions on endpoints of quality of life, ototoxicity, secondary malignancy, alopecia, scoliosis, cavernomas, and cerebral vasculopathy.
CONCLUSIONS
Moderate-grade evidence supports proton radiotherapy as a preferred treatment for craniospinal irradiation of MB based on equivalent disease control and comparable-to-improved toxicity versus photon beam radiation therapy.

INTRODUCTION
It is still uncertain whether the risk of dementia and cognitive impairment is related to thyroid disease. we carried out a meta-analysis and systematic review (PROSPERO: CRD42021290105) on the associations between thyroid disease and the risks of dementia and cognitive impairment.
METHODS
We searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library for studies published up to August 2022. The overall relative risk (RRs) and its 95% confidence interval (CIs) were calculated in the random-effects models. Subgroup analyses and meta-regression were conducted to explore the potential source of heterogeneity among studies. We tested and corrected for publication bias by funnel plot-based methods. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) or Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) scale were used to evaluate the study quality of longitudinal studies and cross-sectional studies, respectively.
RESULTS
A total of 15 studies were included in our meta-analysis. Our meta-analysis showed that hyperthyroidism (RR = 1.14, 95% CI = 1.09-1.19) and subclinical hyperthyroidism (RR = 1.56, 95% CI = 1.26-1.93) might be associated with an elevated risk for dementia, while hypothyroidism (RR = 0.93, 95% CI = 0.80-1.08) and subclinical hypothyroidism (RR = 0.84, 95% CI = 0.70-1.01) did not affect the risk.
DISCUSSION
Hyperthyroidism and subclinical hyperthyroidism are predictors of dementia.

BACKGROUND
There is overlap between movement disorders and neuroendocrine abnormalities.
OBJECTIVES AND METHODS
To provide a systematic review on the association of thyroid dysfunction and movement disorders. Thyroid physiological function and classical thyroid disorders highlighting typical and atypical manifestations including movement disorders, as well as diagnostic procedures, and treatments are discussed.
RESULTS
Hypothyroidism may be associated with hypokinetic and hyperkinetic disorders. There is debate whether their concomitance reflects a causal link, is coincidence, or the result of one unmasking the other. Hypothyroidism-associated parkinsonism may resemble idiopathic Parkinson's disease. Hypothyroidism-associated hyperkinetic disorders mainly occur in the context of steroid-responsive encephalopathy with autoimmune thyroiditis, that is, Hashimoto disease, mostly manifesting with tremor, myoclonus, and ataxia present in 28-80%, 42-65% and 33-65% in larger series. Congenital hypothyroidism manifesting with movement disorders, mostly chorea and dystonia, due to Mendelian genetic disease are rare.Hyperthyroidism on the other hand mostly manifests with hyperkinetic movement disorders, typically tremor (present in three quarters of patients). Chorea (present in about 2% of hyperthyroid patients), dystonia, myoclonus, ataxia and paroxysmal movement disorders, as well as parkinsonism have also been reported, with correlation between movement intensity and thyroid hormone levels.On a group level, studies on the role of thyroid dysfunction as a risk factor for the development of PD remain non-conclusive.
CONCLUSIONS
In view of the treatability of movement disorders associated with thyroid disease, accurate diagnosis is important. The pathophysiology remains poorly understood. More detailed case documentation and systematic studies, along with experimental studies are needed.

BACKGROUND
Thyroid dysfunction plays an important role in the development of cardiovascular disease. However, its relationship with venous thromboembolism (VTE) remains unclear. We performed a meta-analysis of published cohort and case-control studies to investigate the association between thyroid dysfunction and VTE comprehensively.
METHODS
Three reviewers independently searched EMbase, PubMed, China national knowledge infrastructure, and Cochrane Library databases for relevant articles from the time of database establishment to 01 October 2022 and identified all studies on thyroid dysfunction and VTE as studies of interest. Of the 2418 publications retrieved, we identified 10 articles with 15 studies that met our selection criteria. Pooled ORs and 95% confidence intervals were calculated using fixed- or random-effect models.
RESULTS
We pooled 8 studies by a fixed-effect model, which suggested an increased risk of VTE in patients with (subclinical) hyperthyroidism (OR 1.33, 95% CI: 1.29-1.38). In the other 7 studies on patients with (subclinical) hypothyroidism, the risk was similarly increased when pooled by a random-effect model (OR 1.52, 95% CI: 1.23-1.89). After sensitivity analysis and risk of bias analysis, the risk of VTE was still increased in both (subclinical) hyperthyroidism (OR 1.322, 95% CI: 1.278-1.368) and (subclinical) hypothyroidism (OR 1.74, 95% CI: 1.41-2.16).
CONCLUSION
Patients with thyroid dysfunction have an increased risk of VTE. Therefore, it is recommended to perform thyroid function screening routinely in patients at high risk of VTE.

BACKGROUND
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized the treatment of cancer patients in the last decade, but immune-related adverse events (irAEs) pose significant clinical challenges. Despite advances in the management of these unique toxicities, there remains an unmet need to further characterize the patient-level drivers of irAEs in order to optimize the benefit/risk balance in patients receiving cancer immunotherapy.
METHODS
An individual-patient data meta-analysis was performed using data from 10,344 patients across 15 Roche sponsored clinical trials with atezolizumab in five different solid tumor types to assess the association between baseline risk factors and the time to onset of irAE. In this study, the overall analysis was conducted by treatment arm, indication, toxicity grade and irAE type, and the study design considered confounder adjustment to assess potential differences in risk factor profiles.
RESULTS
This analysis demonstrates that the safety profile of atezolizumab is generally consistent across indications in the 15 studies evaluated. In addition, our findings corroborate with prior reviews which suggest that reported rates of irAEs with PD-(L)1 inhibitors are nominally lower than CTLA-4 inhibitors. In our analysis, there were no remarkable differences in the distribution of toxicity grades between indications, but some indication-specific differences regarding the type of irAE were seen across treatment arms, where pneumonitis mainly occurred in lung cancer, and hypothyroidism and rash had a higher prevalence in advanced renal cell carcinoma compared to all other indications. Results showed consistency of risk factors across indications and by toxicity grade. The strongest and most consistent risk factors were mostly organ-specific such as elevated liver enzymes for hepatitis and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) for thyroid toxicities. Another strong but non-organ-specific risk factor was ethnicity, which was associated with rash, hepatitis and pneumonitis. Further understanding the impact of ethnicity on ICI associated irAEs is considered as an area for future research.
CONCLUSIONS
Overall, this analysis demonstrated that atezolizumab safety profile is consistent across indications, is clinically distinguishable from comparator regimens without checkpoint inhibition, and in line with literature, seems to suggest a nominally lower reported rates of irAEs vs CTLA-4 inhibitors. This analysis demonstrates several risk factors for irAEs by indication, severity and location of irAE, and by patient ethnicity. Additionally, several potential irAE risk factors that have been published to date, such as demographic factors, liver enzymes, TSH and blood cell counts, are assessed in this large-scale meta-analysis, providing a more consistent picture of their relevance. However, given the small effects size, changes to clinical management of irAEs associated with the use of Anti-PDL1 therapy are not warranted.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS
Numerous studies have found an association between vitamin deficiency and thyroid disorders (TD). The presence of anti-parietal cell antibodies is indicative of reduced ability to absorb vitamin B12. Thus, this study reviewed the existing studies with the objective of assessing differences in the serum levels of vitamin B12 among patients with and without TD, the frequency of vitamin B12 deficiency in patients with TD, and the presence of anti-parietal cell antibodies in patients with TD.
METHODS
A meta-analysis of random-effects model was conducted to calculate pooled frequencies, mean differences (MD), and their respective 95% confidence intervals (CI). We identified 64 studies that met our inclusion criteria (n = 28597).
RESULTS
We found that patients with hypothyroidism had lower vitamin B12 levels than healthy participants (MD: -60.67 pg/mL; 95% CI: -107.31 to -14.03 pg/mL; p = 0.01). No significant differences in vitamin B12 levels were observed between healthy participants and patients with hyperthyroidism (p = 0.78), autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) (p = 0.22), or subclinical hypothyroidism (SH) (p = 0.79). The frequencies of vitamin B12 deficiency among patients with hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, SH, and AITD were 27%, 6%, 27%, and 18%, respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
Patients with hypothyroidism had lower levels of vitamin B12 than healthy participants. No significant differences were observed between vitamin B12 levels and hyperthyroidism, AITD, or SH.
