By extracting the acupoint names and their main indications from cases in and , the acupoints and their main indications are represented in a reduced dimension, establishing an "acupoint-indication" linkage. Using complex network detection results (node degree values), the specificity of acupoints was assessed. The small-world characteristics of the "acupoint-indication" network are utilized to analyze the consistency of acupoint selection in acupuncture prescriptions and strategies to avoid redundant acupoints. The results show that the "acupoint-indication" network formed by both texts exhibited an approximate "long-tail" distribution, with a large number of node degree values concentrated between 0 and 4 000, while a few nodes have degree values exceeding 10 000. There are significant differences in the number and distribution of nodes with degree values> 10 000 between the two texts. includes 11 acupoints with multiple edges across the body, whereas contains only 2 such acupoints, located in the lower limbs. Clinically, some acupoints have a broad therapeutic effect and appear in numerous prescriptions. The division of acupoints based on node degree values can coarsely evaluate the body region specificity of acupoints' regulatory effects. The "acupoint-indication" network of has a higher number of edges than that of , which might be related to the different historical contexts of the two texts. In the future, diagnostic and therapeutic patterns with historical continuity can be utilized to optimize acupuncture prescriptions.

In this study, based on the neuroimaging literature Meta analysis retrieved from Neurosynth platform, the scalp stimulation targets for common psychiatric diseases are developed, which provided the stimulation target protocols of scalp acupuncture for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and schizophrenia. The paper introduces the functions of the brain areas that are involved in each target and closely related to the diseases, and lists the therapeutic methods of common acupuncture/scalp acupuncture and common neuromodulation methods for each disease so as to provide the references for clinical practice. Based on the study results above, the paper further summarizes the overlapped stimulation targets undergoing the intervention with scalp acupuncture for common psychiatric diseases, and the potential relationship between these stimulation targets and treatments with acupuncture and moxibustion.

The paper introduces professor 's clinical experience in treatment of wrist rheumatoid arthritis with acupotomy mobilization at the muscle regions (sinews/fascia) of three meridians of hand. Professor believes that wrist rheumatoid arthritis belongs to the disorder of meridian muscle regions and is especially associated with the damage of the muscle regions of three meridians of hand running through the wrist. Under the guidance of meridian muscle region theory, on the basis of modern anatomy, and the treatment principle, "needling the affected areas may treat disorders of sinews/fascia and dysfunction of meridians simultaneously", acupotomy mobilization is adopted to balance sinews/fascia and bones, operated directly at the involved meridian muscle regions. Besides the foci (palpable knotted sites) on the distribution of muscle regions, acupoints along the affected meridians are stimulated in combination. With this therapy, after determining the location of illness, both the disorder of sinews/fascia and that of meridians can be treated.

Professor 's clinical experience of electroacupuncture (EA) for pediatric neurogenic bladder of lower motor neuron type in children is summarized. Considering the unique physiological and pathological characteristics of children, with the strategy of combining "disease-symptom-location" in the selection of acupoints, professor proposes that the main disease location is the bladder and kidney, with the involvement of the conception vessel, governor vessel, kidney meridian of foot- and the bladder meridian of foot-. The primary acupoint prescription-1 (bilateral Zhongliao [BL 33], Ciliao [BL 32] and Huiyang [BL 35]) and primary acupoint prescription-2 (Guanyuan [CV 4], Zhongji [CV 3] and bilateral Sanyinjiao [SP 6]) are selected to promote the of the governor vessel, stimulate the of the conception vessel, and invigorate the bladder's transformation. Before acupuncture, the four-step method is applied to precisely locate Ciliao (BL 32) and Zhongliao (BL 33). During acupuncture, the importance of achieving is emphasized, with deep insertion in the sacral area to reach the disease location. Based on the tolerance characteristics of children, low-frequency EA and gentle moxibustion treatment are applied.

The paper introduces 's clinical experience in treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) by manual mobilization of meridian muscle regions. Professor believes that the key to the occurrence and development of KOA lies in the disorder of meridian muscle regions (sinews/fascia). In pathology, four stages are divided, i.e. the acute stage, the blockage stage, the contraction stage and the atrophy stage of muscle regions, characterized as multi-layer, multi-dimensional and multi-morphological distribution. In treatment, based on the principle, "taking pain sites as stimulating points", the sites, with reduced pain threshold and distributed along the meridian muscle regions, are regarded as "acupoints" for intervention. Manual mobilization of meridian muscle regions is the dominant approach, combined with routine acupuncture, heat-sensitive moxibustion, cupping and bloodletting corresponding to the features of syndromes and meridian manifestation at different stages. The comprehensive treatment may restore and reconstruct the physiological functions of the meridian muscle regions around knee joints by "nourishing tendons, strengthening bones and benefiting joints".

The paper introduces the thinking of the diagnosis and treatment with high-dense silver needle therapy for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) based on the theory of six-meridian differentiation. According to the severity of LSS and the depth of illness location, LSS is differentiated as six syndromes/patterns, including disorder, disorder, disorder, disorder, disorder and disorder. The high-dense silver needle therapy is used. The main points include the bilateral points (EX-B 2) from L to L and the acupoints of the bladder meridian of foot- (1.5 lateral to each side of L to L); and the supplementary points are selected from the affected meridians. According to the disorders of six meridians, the length of moxa stick is adjusted in warm acupuncture, targeting the tender sites of soft tissue damage. In order to obtain the satisfactory effects, the appropriate physical exercise is applicable rather than absolutely limiting the movement of affected vertebrae during the treatment.

OBJECTIVE
To observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on the autophagy of ovarian granulosa cells in rats with premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), and explore the mechanism of EA in improving POI.
METHODS
Thirty-two female SD rats were randomly divided into a blank group (=8) and a model making group (=24). The rats in the model making group were injected intraperitoneally with cyclophosphamide for 15 days to establish the POI model (the dosage on the 1st day was 50 mg/kg, and 8 mg/kg from the 2nd day to 15th day). The successfully modeled rats were then randomly divided into a model group, an EA group, and an estradiol (E2) group, with 8 rats in each group. Rats in the EA group received EA at bilateral "Gongsun" (SP 4) with continuous wave, frequency of 2 Hz, and current intensity of 0.1 to 1 mA, 20 min per treatment, once daily for 14 days. Rats in the E2 group were administered with E2 (0.01 mg/mL) by gavage (10 mL/kg), once daily for 14 days. The changes in estrous cycle were observed by rapid Giemsa staining before and after modeling. After intervention, ovarian tissue morphology was observed by HE staining; serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), E2, anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), and inhibin B (INHB) were detected by ELISA; immunofluorescence staining was used to observe the expression of p62 in ovarian granulosa cells; the ultrastructure of ovarian granulosa cells was observed by transmission electron microscopy, and the number of autophagosomes and autolysosomes was compared; Western blot and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR were used to detect the protein and mRNA expression of p62, Beclin-1, and microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3) in ovarian tissue.
RESULTS
The results of vaginal smears in the blank group showed regular cyclical changes; the rats in the model group showed prolonged estrous cycle or cycle arrest, mostly in proestrus or metestrus, with overall ovarian atrophy, disordered structure, and decreased granulosa cells. Compared with the blank group, rats in the model group showed increased serum FSH level (<0.01), decreased serum levels of E2, AMH, and INHB (<0.01), decreased positive expression of p62 in ovarian granulosa cells (<0.01), with obvious swelling of ovarian granulosa cells, mild to moderate swelling of mitochondria, slight expansion of rough endoplasmic reticulum, and hypertrophy of Golgi apparatus; the number of autophagosomes and autolysosomes in the ovaries was increased (<0.01), the expression of p62 protein and mRNA was decreased (<0.01), and the expression of Beclin-1 and LC3 protein and mRNA in ovarian tissue was increased (<0.01). Compared with the model group, rats in the EA group and the E2 group showed decreased serum FSH levels (<0.01), increased levels of E2, AMH, and INHB (<0.01), increased positive expression of p62 in ovarian granulosa cells (<0.01), alleviated degree of ovarian granulosa cell damage, with relatively intact organelle morphology, and decreased number of autophagosomes and autolysosomes in the ovaries (<0.01); the rats also showed increased expression of p62 protein and mRNA (<0.01), and decreased expression of Beclin-1 and LC3 protein and mRNA (<0.01) in ovarian tissue.
CONCLUSION
EA at "Gongsun" (SP 4) could improve ovarian reserve function in POI rats by reducing the number of autophagosomes and autolysosomes, up-regulating p62 expression, and down-regulating Beclin-1 and LC3 expression, thus inhibiting autophagy of ovarian granulosa cells, and regulating the serum levels of FSH, E2, AMH, and INHB.

OBJECTIVE
To observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on the expression of serum interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and the pancreatic nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) pathway in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rats, and to explore the possible mechanism by which EA improving the dedifferentiation of pancreatic β-cells in the treatment of T2DM.
METHODS
Among 18 SPF-grade male Wistar rats, 6 rats were randomly selected as the control group, and the remaining 12 rats were fed with high-sugar and high-fat diet combined with intraperitoneal injection of 2% streptozotocin solution (35 mg/kg) to establish T2DM model. After successful modeling, the 12 rats were randomly divided into a model group and an EA group, with 6 rats in each group. The EA group received EA at bilateral "Zusanli" (ST 36), "Sanyinjiao" (SP 6), "Weiwanxiashu" (EX-B 3), and "Pishu" (BL 20), with continuous wave, frequency of 15 Hz, current intensity of 2 mA, for 20 min each time, once a day, 6 times a week, for a total of 6 weeks. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels were measured before modeling and before and after intervention. After intervention, ELISA was used to detect the serum fasting insulin (FINS), IL-1β and TNF-α levels, and the β-cell function index (HOMA-β) and insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) were calculated; HE staining was used to observe the morphology of the pancreatic islets; Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of pancreatic forkhead box protein O1 (FoxO1), pancreatic and duodenal homeobox 1 (PDX-1), neurogenin 3 (NGN3), and NF-κB p65.
RESULTS
After intervention, the FBG in the model group was higher than that in the control group (<0.01), and the FBG in the EA group was lower than that in the model group (<0.01). Compared with the control group, the model group had increased levels of serum FINS, IL-1β, TNF-α, and HOMA-IR (<0.01), and decreased HOMA-β (<0.01), reduced protein expression of pancreatic FoxO1 and PDX-1 (<0.01), and increased protein expression of pancreatic NGN3 and NF-κB p65 (<0.01, <0.05). Compared with the model group, the EA group had lower serum FINS, IL-1β, TNF-α levels, and HOMA-IR (<0.01), higher HOMA-β (<0.05), increased protein expression of pancreatic FoxO1 and PDX-1 (<0.01, <0.05), and decreased protein expression of pancreatic NGN3 and NF-κB p65 (<0.01, <0.05). The control group's pancreatic islets showed no obvious abnormalities; the model group's pancreatic islets were irregular in shape and had unclear boundaries with the surrounding area, with immune cell infiltration, reduced β-cell nuclei, disordered arrangement of islet cells, and increased intercellular spaces; the EA group showed improvements in islet morphology, immune cell infiltration, β-cell nuclei count, and the arrangement and spacing of islet cells approaching normal.
CONCLUSION
EA could lower the blood glucose levels in T2DM rats, alleviate chronic inflammatory responses in the islets, and improve the dedifferentiation of pancreatic β-cells, which may be related to the inhibition of pancreatic NF-κB pathway expression.

OBJECTIVE
To observe the effects of acupuncture on blood pressure, fecal short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88)/nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), and to explore the mechanism of acupuncture for anti-hypertension.
METHODS
Twenty-four male SHR of SPF grade were randomly divided into a model group, a western medication group, an acupuncture group and a sham acupuncture group, with 6 rats in each group, and 6 male Wistar-Kyoto rats were selected as the blank group additionally. Hydrochlorothiazide solution was given by gavage in the western medication group; acupuncture was applied at bilateral "Renying" (ST 9) and "Zusanli" (ST 36) in the acupuncture group, 20 min a time; acupuncture was applied at the non-meridian and non-acupoint points close to bilateral "Renying" (ST 9) and "Zusanli" (ST 36) in the sham acupuncture group, 20 min a time. The intervention was adopted once a day for 4 weeks continuously in each group. The systolic blood pressure (SBP) of the caudal artery was measured before intervention and after 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks of intervention. After intervention, the morphology of colonic tissue was observed by HE staining; the fecal level of SCFAs was detected by gas chromatography; the serum levels of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1βand tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were detected by ELISA; the protein expression of TLR4, MyD88 and NF-κB p65 in the mesenteric artery was detected by Western blot.
RESULTS
Compared with the blank group, in the model group, the SBP was increased (<0.05), significant pathological changes could be found in the colonic tissue, the fecal SCFAs level was decreased (<0.05), the serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α were increased (<0.05), the protein expression of TLR4, MyD88 and NF-κB p65 in the mesenteric artery was increased (<0.05). Compared with the model group, the SBP after 2, 3 and 4 weeks of intervention was decreased (<0.05), the serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α were decreased (<0.05) in the acupuncture group and the western medication group; the mucosal epithelium of colonic tissue was intact, the number of intestinal glands was abundant, the fecal SCFAs level was increased (<0.05), and the protein expression of TLR4, MyD88 and NF-κB p65 in the mesenteric artery was decreased (<0.05) in the acupuncture group. Compared with the sham acupuncture group, the SBP after 2, 3 and 4 weeks of intervention was decreased (<0.05), the fecal SCFAs level was increased (<0.05), the serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α were decreased (<0.05), the protein expression of TLR4, MyD88 and NF-κB p65 in the mesenteric artery was decreased (<0.05) in the acupuncture group.
CONCLUSION
Acupuncture at bilateral "Renying" (ST 9) and "Zusanli" (ST 36) can effectively play an anti-hypertensive role in SHR. Its mechanism may be related to regulating fecal SCFAs level and inhibiting the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway.

OBJECTIVE
To assess the effect of acupuncture therapy (acupuncture for regulating menstruation and promoting pregnancy) on pregnancy outcomes in patients with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET).
METHODS
Eighty women with DOR were divided into an observation group (40 cases, 1 case dropped out) and a control group (40 cases, 1 case dropped out) according to whether acupuncture therapy was given or not. In the control group, IVF-ET was delivered. In the observation group, before IVF-ET, acupuncture therapy was given. Two groups of acupoints were used alternatively, including Baihui (GV 20), Shenting (GV 24), Benshen (GB 13), Zhongwan (CV 12), Guanyuan (CV 4), and bilateral Tianshu (ST 25), Shenshu (BL 23), Ciliao (BL 32), etc. Acupuncture was operated once every other day, three interventions a week, for 12 weeks. The primary outcome was clinical pregnancy rate (CPR). Secondary outcomes included the total days and amount of gonadotropin (Gn) used, the number of oocytes retrieved, the number of oocytes in metaphase of second meiosis (MⅡ), the number of transferable embryos, the number of high-quality embryos, the cycle cancellation rate, the positive rate of human choriogonadotropin (HCG), the embryo implantation rate, live birth rate (LBR), the basal serum levels of sex hormones (follicular stimulating hormone [FSH], estradiol (E2), FSH/luteinizing hormone [LH]) and antral follicle count (AFC).
RESULTS
CPR in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (53.8% [21/39] . 17.9% [7/39], <0.05). The results of the number of oocytes retrieved, the number of oocytes in MⅡ, the number of transferable embryos, the number of high-quality embryos, the positive rate of HCG, the embryo implantation rate, and LBR in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (<0.05). The serum level of FSH and FSH/LH in the observation group were lower thau those in the control group (<0.05). The differences were not significant statistically in the total days and amount of Gn used, the cycle cancellation rate, serum level of E2 and AFC between the two groups (>0.05). Logic regression analysis showed that CPR increased in the observation group when compared with that of the control group ( = 5.33, 95%: 1.90-14.97, = 0.001).
CONCLUSION
Acupuncture can improve the pregnancy outcomes of DOR women undergoing IVF-ET.
