Camrelizumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor clinically used to treat various types of tumours. In this study, the authors provided the first report of a case of an anaphylactic reaction induced by camrelizumab in the treatment of a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth. The patient, a 58-year-old man, was diagnosed with advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth, with cancer infiltration and multiple metastases. He underwent treatment for nine cycles, in which cycles 1-5 he received camrelizumab, albumin-bound paclitaxel, and cisplatin (200 mg of camrelizumab each time, every 3 weeks), with no adverse reactions; in cycle 6, he received albumin-bound paclitaxel and cisplatin, with no adverse reactions; and in cycles 7-9, he received camrelizumab and albumin-bound paclitaxel. However, 30 min after 8th administration of camrelizumab (cycle 9), he suddenly developed sweating, a pale complexion, clamminess and cyanosis of the limbs (percutaneous arterial oxygen saturation [SpO] = 82%, blood pressure [BP] = 79/49 mmHg, heart rate [HR] = 83 beats/min [bpm] and respiratory rate [RR) = 12 bpm). The patient underwent intravenous infusion of methylprednisolone (80 mg) combined with dopamine to boost the BP; he regained consciousness 20 min later, and many parts of his skin appeared smooth, with no desquamation and accompanied by itching erythema, especially on the upper limbs. Approximately 2 h after treatment, the patient's skin erythema subsided (vital sign monitoring results: SpO = 100%, BP = 122/84 mmHg, HR = 91 bpm and RR = 17 bpm); the patient did not complain about his obvious discomfort. Despite the rarity of acute anaphylactic reactions among immune-related adverse reactions, great importance should be given to anaphylactic reactions of camrelizumab due to its extensive clinical application.

Sweat passive-cooling textiles with asymmetric wettabilities on different sides offer an effective and low-energy consumption solution to personal thermal management in extreme thermal environments. However, the sweat-wicking and the cooling abilities decrease when the textile is contaminated by low-surface tension oily liquid fouling. The integration of anti-oily liquid fouling and sweat-wicking abilities on textile involves resolving the contradiction between hydrophilic and oleophobic properties and seeking eco-friendly short-chain fluorides to reduce the surface energy. Herein, a sustainable oily liquid-proof passive cooling (SOC) textile for personal thermal management is proposed. The SOC textile is obtained by applying a fluoride-free hydrophobic coating layer to one side of the high thermal conductive superoleophobic/superhydrophilic basal textile, which is fabricated using eco-friendly short-chain fluoride. The SOC textile preserves the anti-oily liquid fouling property even after 2000 abrasion cycles. Experimental test revealed that the SOC textile exhibits a cooling effect of ≈5 °C compared with the cotton textile, and the up to 70% reduction in sweating rate under the constant metabolic heat production rates. The configuration of the SOC textile would inspire the future design of intelligent textiles for personal thermal management, and the proposed strategy have implications for fabrication of eco-friendly oil-water separation materials.

PURPOSE
This study aims to investigate comorbidities, clinical features, laboratory values, and diagnoses in non-diabetic patients experiencing hypoglycemic episodes.
METHODS
A retrospective observational study was conducted at Shariati Hospital in Iran from 2016 to 2023. Seventy-four non-diabetic patients admitted with a diagnosis of hypoglycemia were included, while patients with diabetes were excluded. Demographic data, symptoms, and biochemical assessments were obtained from the hospital information system. Hypoglycemic episodes were identified based on low measured blood glucose, recorded medications for hypoglycemia treatment, or recorded codes indicating hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia was defined as blood glucose below 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L) along with two other criteria of the Whipple triad. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software (version 26).
RESULTS
Among the enrolled patients, 63.5% were female, and 13.5% were elderly (≥ 65 years). The most common comorbidities observed were cardiovascular disease (20.3%), psychological disorders (20.3%), hypothyroidism (14.9%), and hypertension (8.1%). The prevalent symptoms included weakness, loss of consciousness, sweating, palpitations, dizziness, and tremors. Non-diabetic hypoglycemia was caused by factitious disorders, insulinoma, organ failure, and infection, respectively.
CONCLUSION
Due to the diverse range of clinical symptoms, hypoglycemia in non-diabetic patients may be diagnosed late, leading to misdiagnoses such as psychological disorders or seizures. It is crucial to consider the possibility of hypoglycemia in non-diabetic patients and determine its underlying cause. Given the poor prognosis associated with hypoglycemia, timely interventions are essential.

Herein, we investigate the potential application of a composite consisting of PEDOT:PSS/Graphene, deposited via spray coating on a flexible substrate, as an autonomous conducting film for applications in wearable biosensor devices. The stability of PEDOT:PSS/Graphene is assessed through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear polarization (LP) during exposure to an artificial sweat electrolyte, while scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to investigate the morphological changes in the layer following these. The results indicate that the layers exhibit predominant capacitive behavior in the potential range of -0.3 to 0.7 V vs. Ag/AgCl, with a cut-off frequency of approximately 1 kHz and retain 90% capacity after 500 cycles. Aging under exposure to air for 6 months leads only to a minor increase in impedance, demonstrating potential for storage under non-demanding conditions. However, prolonged exposure (>48 h) to the artificial sweat causes significant degradation, resulting in an impedance increase of over 1 order of magnitude. The observed degradation raises important considerations for the long-term viability of these layers in wearable biosensor applications, prompting the need for additional protective measures during prolonged use. These findings contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance the stability and reliability of conducting materials for biosensors in health care and biotechnology applications.

Menopausal women experience changes in ovarian activity and fluctuating hormone levels. The aim of this study was to detect ongoing sleep and nutritional problems in postmenopausal women. This study was conducted with 62 postmenopausal women who had been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, were aged 42-64, were not dieting for at least 1 month, and had been using antidepressants for at least 6 months. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-42 were used. Anthropometric measurements were taken and body composition analysis was performed. The prevalence of obesity and overweight were 12.9% and 71%, respectively. Hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swing were more common in those who had been through menopause for <5 years. Also, the PSQI, Depression, and Stress scores of those women were higher. Women who had been menopausal for ≥5 years had a higher BMI, waist/hip ratio, and fat mass and better sleep quality and lower daytime dysfunction according to the PSQI. Energy and fat intake were higher, while protein, vitamin C, and calcium intakes were lower in women who had been menopausal for ≥5 years. It is crucial for healthcare professionals to review approaches for early and late menopausal periods and to individualize treatment options, especially in patients whose symptoms persist.

Hyperthermia elicits several physiological and behavioral responses in livestock to restore thermal neutrality. Among these responses, vasodilation and sweating help to reduce core body temperature by increasing heat dissipation by radiation and evaporation. Thermoregulatory behaviors such as increasing standing time, reducing feed intake, shade-seeking, and limiting locomotor activity also increase heat loss. These mechanisms are elicited by the connection between peripheral thermoreceptors and cerebral centers, such as the preoptic area of the hypothalamus. Considering the importance of this thermoregulatory pathway, this review aims to discuss the hypothalamic control of hyperthermia in livestock, including the main physiological and behavioral changes that animals adopt to maintain their thermal stability.

Rich biological information in sweat provides great potential for health monitoring and management. However, due to the complexity of sweat, the development of environmentally friendly green electronic products is of great significance to the construction of ecological civilization. This study utilized a simple combination of polystyrene sulfonate sodium (PSS) and filter paper (FP) to prepare cellulose materials coated with conductive polymers, developing an electrochemical sensor based on the modified materials. The mechanical and electrochemical properties of the fabricated PSS/FP membrane were optimized by adjusting the feeding dosage of PSS. The realized PSS/FP composite containing 7% PSS displayed good conductivity (9.1 × 10 S/m), reducing electric resistance by 99.2% compared with the original FP membrane (6.7 × 10 S/m). The stable current of the membrane in simulated sweat under different pH environments is highly correlated with the pH values. Additionally, when the membrane is exposed to simulated sweat with varying ion concentrations, the current signal changes in real time with the concentration variations. The response time averages around 0.3 s.

In horses, parturition is characterized by the fact that any delays may rapidly result in the death of the foal. Therefore, birth monitoring and the rapid detection of dystocia are of great importance. For this purpose, the differentiation between behavior associated with physiological parturition and activities related to difficult parturition is important. The aim of this publication is to present the physiological behavior of mares during parturition on the basis of a literature review. The behavior of mares in the opening phase of parturition is highly individual. In general, it is characterized by an increase in movement activity. In this phase of parturition, 13 different behaviors have been described (e. g. lying down and standing up, cessation of feed intake, local sweating, frequent defecation and urination). Mares show a more uniform pattern of behavior in the expulsion phase and the following phase of expulsion of the fetal membranes and placenta. More than 95% of mares give birth in the lateral position. A mare usually remains in recumbency for several minutes following the expulsion of the fetus. Immediately after standing up, the mare begins to intensely interact with the foal. The expulsion of the fetal membranes and the placenta usually takes place in a standing position. From a clinical point of view, it is important to give consideration to the difficulty in recognizing the opening phase of parturition due to the mares' individual behavior patterns.
