Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has killed millions of people around the world so far and has turned into a disaster for people and healthcare systems. Neurological problems are often seen in people with COVID-19 in the general population, but it is unclear how common they are in pregnant women. This study provides a summary of studies on pregnant women with proven SARS-CoV-2 infection and a particular neurologic diagnosis from different parts of the world. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 15 papers were assessed to create this review article. Based on our findings, the peripheral and central nervous systems were both equally impacted: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS, n=1), bifacial weakness, paresthesia, and vestibulocochlear neuritis (n=1), eclampsia types (n=2), and neurological disease (n=2); case reports, retrospective studies, editorials, and prospective observational studies were included. The median gestational age was 34 (30-36.5) weeks, and the median maternal age was 32.5 (25-35) years. Given the number of reports of neurologic problems associated with COVID-19 in the general community, our findings might be overstated, and we chose the ones that fit our criteria. We hope that this review helps in the early detection and management of neurological diseases during pregnancy.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES
Recent literature on multiple sclerosis (MS) demonstrates the growing implementation of optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-A) to discover potential qualitative and quantitative changes in the retina and optic nerve. In this review, we analyze OCT-A studies in patients with MS and examine its utility as a surrogate or precursor to changes in central nervous system tissue.
METHODS
PubMed and EMBASE were systematically searched to identify articles that applied OCT-A to evaluate the retinal microvasculature measurements in patients with MS. Quantitative data synthesis was performed on all measurements which were evaluated in at least two unique studies with the same OCT-A devices, software, and study population compared to controls. A fixed-effects or random-effects model was applied for the meta-analysis based on the heterogeneity level.
RESULTS
The study selection process yielded the inclusion of 18 studies with a total of 1552 evaluated eyes in 673 MS-associated optic neuritis (MSON) eyes, 741 MS without optic neuritis (MSNON eyes), and 138 eyes without specification for the presence of optic neuritis (ON) in addition to 1107 healthy control (HC) eyes. Results indicated that MS cases had significantly decreased whole image superficial capillary plexus (SCP) vessel density when compared to healthy control subjects in the analyses conducted on Optovue and Topcon studies (both P < 0.0001). Likewise, the whole image vessel densities of deep capillary plexus (DCP) and radial peripapillary capillary (RPC) were significantly lower in MS cases compared to HC (all P < 0.05). Regarding optic disc area quadrants, MSON eyes had significantly decreased mean RPC vessel density compared to MSNON eyes in all quadrants except for the inferior (all P < 0.05). Results of the analysis of studies that used prototype Axsun machine revealed that MSON and MSNON eyes both had significantly lower ONH flow index compared to HC (both P < 0.0001).
CONCLUSIONS
This systematic review and meta-analysis of the studies reporting OCT-A measurements of people with MS confirmed the tendency of MS eyes to exhibit reduced vessel density in the macular and optic disc areas, mainly in SCP, DCP, and RPC vessel densities.

PURPOSE
While typically affecting older adults and immunocompromised individuals, herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) has been reported with varying manifestations and complications in children. In this review, we evaluate reported cases of pediatric HZO in the literature and discuss the epidemiology, risk factors, clinical presentation, treatment and outcomes.
METHODS
A literature search on PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases was performed using the terms "pediatric herpes zoster ophthalmicus" and "herpes zoster ophthalmicus children." Publications that were not specific to HZO or pediatric populations were excluded, as were publications that were not available to review or not published in the English language.
RESULTS
Fifty-seven reports describing 130 cases of HZO or HZO-related complications were reviewed. Major risk factors for pediatric HZO included intrauterine exposure to varicella or primary varicella infection at a young age; HZO also occurred in patients who had received varicella vaccination. Both healthy and immunocompromised children were affected, with the majority of affected children being immunocompetent. The diagnosis of HZO is primarily clinical. Children appear to have good vision recovery and resolution of symptoms if they are treated promptly and if they adhere to treatment regimens, except for irreversible vision loss related to uncommon complications such as optic neuritis.
CONCLUSION
HZO occurs in both healthy and immunocompromised children. Recognizing this treatable condition is essential for reducing ocular and systemic morbidity. Long-term follow-up and assessments of the impact on health in adulthood are lacking. More systematic study is needed to determine the incidence of HZO in children and appropriate diagnostic and treatment protocols for the care of pediatric patients with HZO.

OBJECTIVE
To search for and critically appraise the psychometric quality of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) developed or validated in optic neuritis, in order to support high-quality research and care.
METHODS
We systematically searched MEDLINE(Ovid), Embase(Ovid), PsycINFO(Ovid) and CINAHLPlus(EBSCO), and additional grey literature to November 2021, to identify PROM development or validation studies applicable to optic neuritis associated with any systemic or neurologic disease in adults. We included instruments developed using classic test theory or Rasch analysis approaches. We used established quality criteria to assess content development, validity, reliability, and responsiveness, grading multiple domains from A (high quality) to C (low quality).
RESULTS
From 3142 screened abstracts we identified five PROM instruments potentially applicable to optic neuritis: three differing versions of the National Eye Institute (NEI)-Visual Function Questionnaire (VFQ): the 51-item VFQ; the 25-item VFQ and a 10-item neuro-ophthalmology supplement; and the Impact of Visual Impairment Scale (IVIS), a constituent of the Multiple Sclerosis Quality of Life Inventory (MSQLI) handbook, derived from the Functional Assessment of Multiple Sclerosis (FAMS). Psychometric appraisal revealed the NEI-VFQ-51 and 10-item neuro module had some relevant content development but weak psychometric development, and the FAMS had stronger psychometric development using Rasch Analysis, but was only somewhat relevant to optic neuritis. We identified no content or psychometric development for IVIS.
CONCLUSION
There is unmet need for a PROM with strong content and psychometric development applicable to optic neuritis for use in virtual care pathways and clinical trials to support drug marketing authorisation.

PURPOSE
A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to investigate changes in retinal and choroidal microvasculature in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).
METHODS
PubMed and Google Scholar were searched for studies that compared retinal and choroidal microvasculature between MS and healthy controls (HC) with OCTA. MS patients were divided into 2 groups: MS with (MSON) or without optic neuritis (MSNON).
RESULTS
Totally, 13 studies including 996 MS eyes and 847 HC eyes were included. Compared with the HC, the vessel density of the whole superficial vascular complex (SVC) was reduced by 2.27% and 4.30% in the MSNON and MSON groups, respectively. The peripapillary vessel density was 2.28% lower and 4.96% lower in the MSNON and MSON groups, respectively, than in the HC. Furthermore, the MSON group had significant lower vessel density of the SVC (mean difference [MD] = -2.17%, < 0.01) and lower peripapillary vessel density (MD = -2.02%, = 0.02) than the MSNON group. No significant difference was found in the deep vascular complex or choriocapillaris densities among MSNON, MSON or HC groups ( > 0.05). Meta-regression analyses suggested that illness duration and the Expanded Disability Status Scale scores of MS patients were possible sources of heterogeneity ( < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
The retinal SVC and peripapillary vessel density decreased significantly in MS eyes, especially in eyes with optic neuritis. Retinal microvasculature is a potential biomarker of disease progression in MS.

BACKGROUND
This systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to summarize available evidence of anterior transposition of the ulnar nerve for patients with distal humerus fractures.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The databases were searched from PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chongqing VIP Database (VIP), and Wan Fang Database up to June 2022. The clinical outcome included operation time, fracture healing time, hospital stays, elbow joint function, and ulnar neuritis rate. Statistical analysis was performed with Review Manager 5.3 (Cochrane Collaboration).
RESULTS
A total of 17 studies were included (8 RCTs and 9 retrospective studies), and 1280 patients were analyzed. The results of this meta-analysis showed anterior transposition group had longer operation time (MD = 20.35 min, 95%CI: 12.56-28.14, < 0.00001). There was no significant difference in fracture healing time (SMD = -0.50, 95%CI: -1.50-0.50, = 0.33), hospital stays (MD = -1.23 days, 95%CI: -2.72--0.27, = 0.11), blood loss (MD = 2.66 ml, 95%CI: -2.45-7.76, = 0.31), and ulnar neuritis rate (OR = 1.23, 95%CI: 0.63-2.42, = 0.54) between two groups. Finally, elbow joint motion, elbow joint function, fracture nonunion, and post-operative infection ( > 0.05) between two groups were not significantly statistic difference.
CONCLUSION
This meta-analysis showed that anterior transposition group is not superior to non-transposition group for patients with distal humerus fractures without ulnar nerve injury. On the contrary, non-transposition group have shorter operation time than that of anterior transposition group. Non-transposition group did not increase the post-operative ulnar neuritis rate. Therefore, both anterior transposition group and non- transposition group are the treatment options for patients with distal humerus fractures without ulnar nerve injury. Besides, these findings need to be further verified by multi-center, double-blind, and large sample RCTs.

INTRODUCTION
Acute unilateral vestibular hypofunction is characterized by sudden onset of vertigo or dizziness, vomiting/nausea, gait instability, and nystagmus. This is commonly described as an acute vestibular syndrome and usually attributed to vestibular neuritis; however, up to 25% of acute vestibular syndrome is caused by a stroke of posterior circulations. The video head impulse test is a recent tool in the vestibular test battery that assesses the vestibule-ocular reflex by measuring the VOR gain and recording overt and covert saccades, these findings have been found to be helpful in the diagnosis of various vestibular disorders.
METHOD
A literature search was conducted in databases, including PubMed Central, PubMed, and Web of Science. All the articles that define video head impulse test (vHIT), acute vestibular hypofunction, and vestibular neuritis were considered for the preliminary search. No limits were placed on the date of publication. The searches were limited to studies with full-text availability, published in English, and including human subjects. Search words such as "head impulse test," "video head impulse test," "vestibular ocular reflex," "acute vestibular syndrome," "acute vestibular hypofunction," "vestibular neuritis," and "vHIT in central vestibular disorders" were entered into different databases in different combinations using boolean operators such as AND, OR, and NOT.
RESULTS
Searches across different databases, including Web of Science, PubMed Central, and PubMed, resulted in a total of 1,790 articles. Title screening was done for all the articles. Out of the 1,790 articles, we found that 245 articles were related to vestibular hypofunction i.e., 1,545 articles were removed at this stage. A further 56 duplicate articles were removed. This led to a final screening of 189 articles. The exclusion criteria included unavailability of full text, studies reported in languages other than English, case reports, reviews, and articles including participants having other comorbid conditions. This final screening led to 133 articles being excluded, which led to the full-text screening of 56 articles. After screening the full-text articles as per the eligibility criteria, 21 articles were found to be eligible for the systematic review. Among the remaining studies, six articles were excluded due to different specific reasons. A total of 15 articles were included in this systematic review. The mean VOR gain for the patients with vestibular neuritis was 0.48 ± 0.14 for the ipsilesional ear, whereas the mean VOR gain was > 0.80 in the contralesional ear for all the patients with acute vestibular neuritis. In patients with PICA lesions, the VOR gain for the ipsilesional ear was 0.90 (range 0.87-0.94) and for the contralesional ear was 0.88 (range 0.84-0.93). In patients with AICA lesions, the mean VOR gain was variable. Based on the above mean VOR gain findings, the authors propose the following adjective description scale of VOR of the lateral canal using vHIT: normal VOR gain above 0.80, mild VOR gain loss for 0.70-0.79, moderate loss for 0.69-0.4, severe loss for 0.39-0.2, and profound loss for < 0.2.

We provide a systematic review of published cases of optic neuropathy following COVID-19 vaccination. We used Ovid MEDLINE, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Search terms included: “COVID-19 vaccination”, “optic neuropathy”, “optic neuritis”, and “ischemic optic neuropathy”. The titles and abstracts were screened, then the full texts were reviewed. Sixty eyes from forty-five patients (28 females) were included. Eighteen eyes from fourteen patients (31.1%) were diagnosed with anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (AION), while 34 eyes from 26 patients (57.8%) were diagnosed with optic neuritis (ON). Other conditions included autoimmune optic neuropathy and Leber hereditary optic neuropathy. Fifteen patients (33.3%) had bilateral involvement. The mean age of all patients was 47.4 ± 17.1 years. The mean age of AION patients was 62.9 ± 12.2 years and of ON patients was 39.7 ± 12.8 years (p < 0.001). The mean time from vaccination to ophthalmic symptoms was 9.6 ± 8.7 days. The mean presenting visual acuity (VA) was logMAR 0.990 ± 0.924. For 41 eyes with available follow-up, the mean presenting VA was logMAR 0.842 ± 0.885, which improved to logMAR 0.523 ± 0.860 at final follow-up (p < 0.001). COVID-19 vaccination may be associated with different forms of optic neuropathy. Patients diagnosed with ON were more likely to be younger and to experience visual improvement. More studies are needed to further characterize optic neuropathies associated with COVID-19 vaccination.

Besides corticosteroids, clinicians found that vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) has a potential effect on vestibular neuritis (VN) improvement. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of both corticosteroid therapy (CT) compared to VRT, and each group compared to their combination (CT vs. (CT+VRT) and VRT vs. (CT + VRT). : Systematic searches were performed in PubMed, CINAHL, and Scopus for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting the administration of at least CT and VRT for VN. The outcome of interest was VN's subjective and objective improvement parameters. Four RCTs involving a total of 182 patients with VN were eligible for systematic review and meta-analysis. The weighted mean difference (WMD) of canal paresis (objective parameter) in the CT group is significantly lower than in the VRT group after a 1 month follow-up (8.31; 95% CI: 0.29, -16.32; = 0.04; fixed effect). Meanwhile, the WMD of Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) (subjective parameter) in the VRT group is significantly lower than in the CT group after a 1 month follow-up (-3.95; 95% CI: -7.69, -0.21; = 0.04; fixed effect). Similarly, the WMD of DHI in the combination group (CT+VRT) is significantly lower than in the CT group after a 3 month follow-up (3.15; 95% CI: 1.50, 4.80; = 0.0002; fixed effect). However, there is no significant difference in all outcomes after 12 months of follow-ups in all groups (CT vs. VRT, CT vs. combination, and VRT vs. combination). : This study indicates that CT enhances the earlier canal paresis improvement, as the objective parameter, while VRT gives the earlier DHI score improvement, as the subjective parameter. However, their long-term efficacy does not appear to be different. VRT has to be offered as the primary option for patients with VN, and corticosteroids can be added to provide better recovery in the absence of its contraindication. However, whether to choose VRT, CT, or its combination should be tailored to the patient's condition. Future studies are still needed to revisit this issue, due to the small number of trials in this field. (PROSPERO ID: CRD42021220615).

BACKGROUND
At present, the surgical treatment of sinusitis with nasal polyps has made great progress, but its recurrence rate is still high. Therefore, this time, meta-analysis is used to study the therapeutic effect of endoscopic sinus surgery on children with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps, analyze its effectiveness and safety, and provide theoretical basis for clinical treatment.
METHODS
Boolean logic searching was adopted to retrieve articles from various databases, including PubMed, Medline, and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), published from the establishment of the database to December 30, 2021. The following search terms were used: "endoscopic sinus surgery", "antrochoanal polyps", "chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps", and "nasal polyps". Comparative studies on traditional surgical treatment and endoscopic sinus surgery were also screened out. Review Manager was utilized for meta-analysis.
RESULTS
A total of 9 references were included in the study, and most of them were low risk bias (medium and high quality). Meta-analysis showed that there was no statistical heterogeneity between the control group and the experimental group (Chi=0.03, I=0%, P=0.98). According to the fixed effect model analysis, the number of patients with polyp formation in the experimental group was significantly less than that in the control group (Z=2.65, P=0.008). Compared with the control group, there is no statistical heterogeneity in the postoperative recurrence (Chi=1.59, I=0%, P=0.45). According to the analysis of fixed effect model, the postoperative recurrence in the experimental group is significantly less than that in the control group (Z=2.92, OR =2.78, 95% CI: 1.40-5.52, P=0.004). Compared with the control group, the results of postoperative visual analogue scale (VAS) were statistically different (Chi=12.63, I=84%, P=0.002). According to the random effect model analysis, the VAS score of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group (Z=18.06, MD =4.51, 95% CI: 3.96-5.05, P<0.00001).
DISCUSSION
Endoscopic sinus surgery could reduce the postoperative recurrence and pain of patients, and showed high curative effects and safety in the treatment of children with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps.
