WHAT IS KNOWN ON THE SUBJECT?: The phenomenon of child killing (neonaticide, infanticide or filicide) is a rare event that cannot be fully explained by a single construct as each case involves the unique life circumstances of each woman who committed the act(s). WHAT THE PAPER ADDS TO EXISTING KNOWLEDGE?: The majority of women who committed neonaticide, infanticide or filicide regretted the act and regretted not seeking help from family and healthcare professionals. Women who committed neonaticide, infanticide or filicide in the main had complex circumstances characterised by poverty, abusive relationships, poor family and social support or over reliance on family supports and mental health issues. WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE?: Women require a clear plan of what to do if they feel overwhelmed with caring for a baby or child. Healthcare professionals involved with women in the perinatal period need to explore further women's expressions of "not being ready to be a mother" which for some women may be pathological and require further assessment. Women need to be made aware of the support service pathways available to them during the perinatal period and beyond. Further research is needed to explore and learn from women's experiences to reduce child homicide mortality and support women and their families.
ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION: Meaning and personal experiences of the acts of neonaticide, infanticide and filicide have rarely been investigated from the perspectives of the women who committed those acts.
AIMS
To identify and synthesise evidence on the perspectives of women directly involved in the complex phenomena of neonaticide, infanticide or filicide from the evidence available on their unique point of view and how these experiences have affected women's lives. To understand how the experiences and perceptions of women who engaged in child killing present similarities or differences according to the child's age at time of death.
METHODS
Qualitative primary studies published in English were included if they explored the experiences of women who engaged in neonaticide, infanticide or filicide. Methodological quality was assessed using the qualitative Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) checklist. A thematic analysis framework guided the synthesis.
RESULTS
Seven papers reporting on five studies met the inclusion criteria for the review. Three analytical themes were identified: Not ready to be a mother; Intentionality and premeditation in the context of trauma and mental health issues; Sorrow of regret.
DISCUSSION
The majority of women who committed neonaticide, infanticide or filicide had complex psychological, social and personal circumstances and in the main regretted the act and regretted not seeking help from family and healthcare professionals. Healthcare professionals in contact with women during the perinatal period and beyond need to be aware of the profiles of vulnerable women and undertake holistic integrated assessments to identify the woman's personal context, changes in interpersonal relationships, social isolation or over reliance on family supports and changes in mental health status or new onset of mental health conditions.
IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE
Women require a clear plan of what to do if they feel overwhelmed with caring for a baby or child. Healthcare professionals involved with women in the perinatal period need to explore further women's expressions of "not being ready to be a mother" which for some women might be pathological and require further assessment. Women need to be made aware of the support services pathways available to them during the perinatal period and beyond. Further research is needed to explore and learn from women's experiences of each of the phenomena separately to reduce child homicide mortality and support women and their families.

We describe a 36-year-old woman with erythematous lesions and well-tense blisters confined to the face and neck of two months history, without mucosal involvement and no triggering factors. A lesional skin biopsy showed a subepidermal blister. Direct immunofluorescence of peribullous skin identified linear deposits of IgG, IgA, and C3 complement along the basement membrane zone, whereas indirect immunofluorescence was negative. Using fluorescence overlay antigen mapping by laser scanning confocal microscopy, linear immunoglobulins deposits were found to be located above collagen IV and below laminin 332 (formerly named laminin 5), in a pattern typical of mucous membrane pemphigoid (formerly named cicatricial pemphigoid). Consequently, in terms of the clinical picture and confocal study, a rare variant of mucous membrane pemphigoid was established, namely Brunsting-Perry type. Combined therapy with oral prednisone and dapsone healed the lesions, leaving atrophic scars and milia. The paper also provides a review of previous reports on this item as well as a comprehensive differential diagnosis of facial blistering lesions.

BACKGROUND
Inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) is known to have a lower success rate for anesthesia in patients with irreversible pulpitis. This calls for supplementary techniques to effectively anesthetize such patients. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the published literature for determining the success rate of anesthesia induction using post-IANB intraligamentary (IL) injection in the mandibular teeth of patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. The review question was, "What is the success rate of IL injection in the mandibular teeth of patients with irreversible pulpitis as a supplementary technique for endodontic treatment?"
METHODS
A thorough search of electronic databases and manual searches were performed. The protocol of the review was framed following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) checklist and was registered in the International Prospective Register of Ongoing Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) with a proper criterion for inclusion and exclusion of studies. The included studies were analyzed using the Cochrane Collaboration ''Risk of Bias'' tool. A meta-analysis that included a comparison of primary nerve block and supplemental IL injection was performed. The success rate was evaluated using the combined risk ratio (RR) with a random risk model. A funnel plot was created to measure publication bias.
RESULTS
After all analyses, four studies were included. In the forest plot representation, RRs were 3.56 (95% CI: 2.86, 4.44), which were in favor of the supplemental IL injections. Statistical heterogeneity was found to be 0%. These values suggest that supplemental IL injections provide better success rates for anesthesia.
CONCLUSION
According to the pooled qualitative and quantitative analyses, supplemental IL injections increased anesthetic efficacy.

This work aimed to evaluate the influence of three light-emitting lamps (white, orange and blue) on the growth and biomass composition of two strains of (M2 and M2M) and one of . The obtained data show strain- and light-dependent responses of the microalgae. In addition, white and orange lights led to a similar overall effect by increasing the levels of chlorophyll and carotenoids. However, exposure to orange light resulted in the highest dry weight (5973.3 mg L in M2M), whereas white light stimulated an increase in the carbohydrate fraction (up to 42.36 g 100 g in ). Conversely, blue light led to a constant increase in the concentration of phycocyanin (14 g 100 g in ) and a higher content of proteins in all strains. These results provide important environmental information for modulating the growth of different spirulina strains, which can be used to address the synthesis of biochemical compounds of strategic importance for the development of new nutraceutical foods.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Tattoo: A Man With a Tattoo-Associated Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Review of Benign Tumors, Lymphoid Conditions, and Malignant Neoplasms Occurring Within a Tattoo.
Tattoos, a common form of body adornment, have been associated with numerous cutaneous complications. These include not only benign neoplasms and malignant tumors but also lymphoid conditions occurring within the tattoo. Tattoo-associated dermatomyofibroma, epidermoid inclusion cyst, hemangioma, lipoma, milia, and pilomatricoma are benign lesions that have each only been described in one individual. However, there are only a few reports of persons with either dermatofibroma or seborrheic keratoses within their tattoo; also, benign nevi within a tattoo may be more common than the number of reported individuals. In contrast, there are multiple patients with tattoo-associated pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia. Lymphoid conditions that have been observed in a tattoo include single patients with either lymphomatoid papulosis or B-cell lymphoma; however, several individuals have been described with pseudolymphoma developing within their tattoo. Tattoo-associated cutaneous cancer predominantly includes individuals with squamous neoplasms (such as keratoacanthomas and squamous cell carcinomas) and malignant melanoma; however, basal cell carcinoma originating within a tattoo is not uncommon. A 57-year-old man is described who received a tattoo on his left forearm 35 years earlier; he subsequently developed a squamous cell carcinoma in the black tattoo ink. In contrast to the patient in this report, tattoo-associated squamous neoplasms usually develop within a median of four weeks after tattoo inoculation, touch-up, or laser-assisted removal. Also, in contrast to the reported patient, tattoo-associated squamous neoplasms are more commonly observed in red tattoos. However, malignant melanoma and basal cell carcinoma more frequently occur in black and darker-pigmented tattoos. In addition, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, cutaneous leiomyosarcoma, and invasive breast duct carcinoma cutaneous metastases have each been described to appear within a patient's tattoo. It remains to be determined whether tattoo inoculation or tattoo pigment, or both have an epidemiologic role in the subsequent development of benign, lymphoid, or malignant lesions within the tattoo. Several observations support either a direct or indirect role of tattooing as a contributing factor and tattoo pigment as a carcinogen in the etiology of tattoo-associated malignancies. Investigation into the possible relationship between tattoos and cancer development is in progress.

Proteins are essential components of the human diet. Dietary proteins could be derived from animals and plants. Animal protein, although higher in demand, is generally considered less environmentally sustainable. Therefore, a gradual transition from animal- to plant-based protein food may be desirable to maintain environmental stability, ethical reasons, food affordability, greater food safety, fulfilling higher consumer demand, and combating of protein-energy malnutrition. Due to these reasons, plant-based proteins are steadily gaining popularity, and this upward trend is expected to continue for the next few decades. Plant proteins are a good source of many essential amino acids, vital macronutrients, and are sufficient to achieve complete protein nutrition. The main goal of this review is to provide an overview of plant-based protein that helps sustain a better life for humans and the nutritional quality of plant proteins. Therefore, the present review comprehensively explores the nutritional quality of the plant proteins, their cost-effective extraction and processing technologies, impacts on nutrition, different food wastes as an alternative source of plant protein, and their environmental impact. Furthermore, it focuses on the emerging technologies for improving plant proteins' bioavailability, digestibility, and organoleptic properties, and highlights the aforementioned technological challenges for future research work.

In Vitro Effect of Instrumentation Using Ultrasonication with and without Hydrogen Peroxide on the Removal of Biofilms and Spread of Viable Microorganisms in Aerosols.
PURPOSE
To evaluate the use of hydrogen peroxide as an adjunct to ultrasonication (US) in biofilm removal and whether it can limit the spread of viable microorganisms in the aerosol.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Multi-species biofilms were formed on dentin disks and titanium disks fixed on a plastic surface. After placing the specimens in a periodontal pocket model, an ultrasonic scaler was applied for 30 s, in part combined with 0.25% or 0.5% H2O2. After treatment, the remaining biofilm was analysed for bacterial counts (colony forming units [CFU]), biofilm quantity and metabolic activity. Further, the cytotoxic effect of hydrogen peroxide on periodontal ligament fibroblasts was assessed and the spread of bacteria in aerosol was quantified.
RESULTS
Ultrasonication reduced bacterial counts in biofilm, biofilm mass and metabolic activity on both dentin and titanium disks. Adjunctive use of 0.25% and 0.5% H2O2 more effectively reduced the viable bacteria in biofilm than ultrasonication alone; this was also found on both dentin and titanium. The different concentrations of H2O2 did not lead to corresponding differences in bacterial mass and metabolic activity. The spread of bacteria through aerosols was statistically significantly reduced when adjunctive H2O2 was used. However, a certain cytotoxic effect on periodontal ligament fibroblasts by H2O2 could not be ruled out.
CONCLUSIONS
Irrigating with H2O2 during periodontal instrumentation with an ultrasonic scaler increases the reduction of viable bacteria within biofilms. It might limit bacterial spreading via aerosols.

BACKGROUND
The COVID-19 pandemic has made dentists very assiduous about cross-infection during dental treatment, thereby delaying dental radiographs for treatment. However, patients needing dental emergency treatment in the ongoing pandemic require relevant intra/extraoral dental radiography for adequate diagnosis and treatment planning.
METHODS
This article is aimed at adding to the hot debate: Is delay for intraoral radiographs justified or a possible proxy? As a narrative review, it provides an insight into the reasons for delaying intra-oral dental radiographs during in the pandemic and options of the nontraditional radiographic techniques available until the pandemic subsides. . Cross-contamination concerns through respiratory droplets grow while using intraoral film holders that stimulate gag reflex, coughing, saliva secretion, and if proper disinfection protocols are not applied. Since the patients' acquiring emergency dental treatment cannot be neglected, the return-to-work guidelines by the health regulatory bodies urge to prioritize extraoral radiographic imaging techniques to curb the infection, offering the best diagnostic efficacy. The dental professionals can consider cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans and sectional dental panoramic radiographs (SDPRs), followed by a risk assessment for COVID-19, a safer modality in reducing cross-contamination and assuring an innocuous environment for both patient and coworkers.

Cutaneous metastases occur in approximately 10% of oncology patients as a feature of a persistent solid tumor or the harbinger of recurrent neoplastic disease. However, they can be the presenting manifestation of an unsuspected visceral malignancy in one percent of previously cancer-free individuals. Metastatic skin lesions from breast carcinoma are diverse in their appearance. The clinical presentation of cutaneous metastases in three women with breast cancer is described and both the morphology of skin metastases caused by breast carcinoma and the conditions that are mimicked by breast cancer cutaneous metastases are reviewed. Skin metastases from breast carcinoma commonly appear as firm, flesh-colored to red, smooth or ulcerated or crusted, nodules, papules, and plaques on the ipsilateral chest wall and breast. However, unique sites of breast cancer cutaneous metastases are the eyelids, inframammary folds, ipsilateral lymphedematous arm, scalp, subungual nail bed, and umbilicus; in addition, skin metastases can occur in mastectomy scars and radiation therapy ports. Carcinoma erysipelatoides, carcinoma telangiectoides, and carcinoma en cuirasse are classic patterns of skin metastases that can be observed in breast cancer patients; carcinoma hemorrhagiectoides is a recently observed skin metastases pattern that has also been noted in oncology patients with breast carcinoma. The pleomorphic skin lesions of breast cancer metastases can masquerade as benign cutaneous lesions and tumors (such as a collision tumor, cyst, dermatofibroma, and milia-en-plaque), cutaneous malignancies (such as melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers), infections (such as cellulitis, folliculitis, herpes zoster, and paronychia), reactive erythema (such as erythema annulare centrifugum, and urticaria), skin conditions (such as alopecia areata, dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, and scleroderma), and vascular lesions (such as angiokeratoma, angiosarcoma, lymphangioma circumscriptum, purpura, and pyogenic granuloma). In addition, breast carcinoma cutaneous metastases can not only mimic other miscellaneous conditions such as erosions and ulcers, Paget's disease, and papillomatosis cutis lymphostatica but also have unusual morphology such as targetoid lesions or a sharply demarcated red infiltration of the nasal tip similar to a clown's nose. The possibility of a breast cancer cutaneous metastasis should be considered in the evaluation of a patient with breast cancer--and although less likely, in a cancer-free individual--who develops a new and/or a treatment-unresponsive cutaneous lesion. A biopsy of the skin lesion is necessary to confirm the diagnosis of breast cancer cutaneous metastasis.

The evasion of the Interferon response has important implications in Zika virus (ZIKV) disease. Mutations in ZIKV viral protein NS4B, associated with modulation of the interferon (IFN) system, have been linked to increased pathogenicity in animal models. In this study, we unravel ZIKV NS4B as antagonist of the IFN signaling cascade. Firstly, we reported the genomic characterization of NS4B isolated from a strain of the 2016 outbreak, ZIKV Brazil/2016/INMI1, and we predicted its membrane topology. Secondly, we analyzed its phylogenetic correlation with other flaviviruses, finding a high similarity with dengue virus 2 (DEN2) strains; in particular, the highest conservation was found when NS4B was aligned with the IFN inhibitory domain of DEN2 NS4B. Hence, we asked whether ZIKV NS4B was also able to inhibit the IFN signaling cascade, as reported for DEN2 NS4B. Our results showed that ZIKV NS4B was able to strongly inhibit the IFN stimulated response element and the IFN-γ-activated site transcription, blocking IFN-I/-II responses. mRNA expression levels of the IFN stimulated genes and were also strongly reduced in presence of NS4B. We found that the viral protein was acting by suppressing the STAT1 phosphorylation and consequently blocking the nuclear transport of both STAT1 and STAT2.
