Cemento-ossifying fibroma (COF) is a mesenchymal benign odontogenic tumor, which may lead to impacted or ectopic permanent teeth. Autotransplantation of teeth is a surgical process, in which a tooth is transplanted from one position to another in the same individual. This method can effectively restore the patient's mastication and aesthetics and is feasible in replacing missing teeth. This study reports a case of simultaneous COF resection combined with heterotopic canine autotransplantation to repair dentition defect, which effectively promotes the restoration of bone continuity and stability and achieves immediate and long-term aesthetic function requirements.

There are plenty of benign lesions that can result in swelling of the mandible, and these can be classified as odontogenic and non-odontogenic lesions. Among the categories of odontogenic lesion, ameloblastoma is the most occurring lesion that takes origin from the epithelial cellular elements and dental tissues in their different stages of development. Ameloblastoma is the most serious odontogenic neoplasm due to its prevalence and clinical characteristics. Ameloblastoma is a broad class which encompasses 80% of solid multicystic type of ameloblastoma with unicystic ameloblastoma (UA) variant included as vital clinicopathological form claiming the rest 20% along with peripheral ameloblastoma variant. UA refers to cystic lesions that seem like jaw cysts clinically, radiographically, or grossly but are lined by typical ameloblastomatous epithelium, with or without luminal and/or mural tumor development, on histologic investigation. Around 5-15% of all ameloblastic lesions do not have a propensity to metastasis, and this is UA. Unicystic mural form, although slow growing overall, is very invasive locally and has a high recurrence rate. As UA tumors show very close features with dentigerous cyst, a very sharp differential diagnosis protocol need to be executed to exclude the other unicystic odontogenic lesions considering the clinical, radiological, and biological characteristics along with proper follow-up and seeing any recurrence of the lesion taking place. Here, we report the case of a twenty-one year male patient with UA of the mandible and review of the literature.

AIM
The present study was conducted for assessing variability in calretinin expression among odontogenic cysts as well as tumor cases.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Fifteen cases were included in the present research consisting of cases like - dentigerous cyst, odontogenic keratocyst, apical radicular cyst along with tumors like ameloblastoma, ameloblastic carcinoma, adenomatoid odontogenic tumor. Calretinin antibody was used for immunohistochemical staining. The amount of expression of this calretinin was statistically analyzed with the help of Chi-square test where < 0.05 was considered noteworthy statistically.
RESULTS
Most cases of ameloblastomas were highly positive for calretinin expression as compared to other cysts and tumors. Therefore, the correlation of this variation of expression of calretinin was statistically noteworthy ( = 0.00).
CONCLUSION
In this study, we concluded that for ameloblastomas, calretinin can be a specific marker immunohistochemically and can help in identifying the amount of aggressive spread of various odontogenic tumors.

BACKGROUND
Cementoblastoma is a rare odontogenic tumor characterized by the formation of osteocementum-like tissue on a tooth root directly by neoplastic cementoblasts. Although it is categorized as benign, it has a high potential for growth with a certain degree of recurrence risk. However, there are only a few studies describing the features of recurrent cementoblastoma. The diagnosis of recurrent cementoblastoma is challenging not only due to its cytological atypia but also because of its large size and multicentric growth pattern. These characteristics suggest a potential for malignancy.
CASE PRESENTATION
A 29-year-old woman was transferred to our university dental hospital complaining of swelling of the right mandible. She had a history of enucleation of cementoblastoma associated with the third molar of the right mandible. Five years after the initial treatment, imaging demonstrated well-circumscribed multicentric radiopaque lesions in the same area. Histologically, the lesion consisted of osteocementum-like tissue rimmed with polygonal or plump tumor cells. Several cells were large epithelioid cells with bizarre nucleoli, which may be reminiscent of malignant tumors. Otherwise, there were no apparent malignant findings, including proliferative activity or atypical mitotic figure. Besides, tumor cells were positive for c-FOS, a marker of osteoblastoma and cementoblastoma. Eventually, the patient was diagnosed with recurrent cementoblastoma.
CONCLUSIONS
Pathological analyses of this case suggested that the recurrent event in the cementoblastoma altered its growth pattern and tumor cell shape. Moreover, in the case of enucleation surgery, long-term follow-up is important because there is some recurrent risk of cementoblastoma, although it is not high.

BACKGROUND
Odontogenic cysts/tumor can cause severe bone destruction, which affects maxillofacial function and aesthetics. Meanwhile, metabolic reprogramming is an important hallmark of diseases. Changes in metabolic flow affect all aspects of disease, especially bone-related diseases. At present, the researches on pathogenesis of odontogenic cysts/tumor are mainly focused on the level of gene regulation, but the effects of metabolic alterations on odontogenic cysts/tumor have still underexplored.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Imaging analysis was used to evaluate the lesion size of different odontogenic lesions. Tartrate resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays were utilized to detect the differences in bone destruction activity in odontogenic cysts and tumors. Furthermore, metabolomics and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) were conducted for the metabolomic features and key metabolite screening, respectively. The effect of ferroptosis inhibition on bone destruction was confirmed by IHC, immunofluorescence, and malondialdehyde colorimetric assay.
RESULTS
The bone destruction activity of ameloblastoma (AM) was the strongest and the weakest in odontogenic cysts (OC). High-throughput targeted metabolomics was used to map the metabolomic profiles of OC, odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) and AM. WGCNA and differential analysis identified L-cysteine in OKC and AM. Cystathionine γ-lyase (CTH) was further screened by Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis. The functions of L-cysteine were further validated. Finally, we confirmed that CTH affected destructive activities by regulating the sensitivity of epithelial cells to ferroptosis.
CONCLUSION
High-throughput targeted metabolomics performed on diseased tissue confirmed the unique alteration of metabolic profiles in OKC and AM. CTH and its metabolite L-cysteine are the key factors regulating destructive activities.

This study investigated the natural course of cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD) on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Retrospectively, 104 CBCT scans from 36 patients (mean age, 44.5 years; 33 female and three male) with mandibular COD (10 florid, seven focal, 19 periapical) were included, based upon clinico-radiological features, without complications such as infection and related surgery. Changes in maximum diameter and morphology (lytic, mixed lytic-sclerotic, sclerotic) were evaluated in 83 lesions, with a mean follow-up of 28.3 months. The occurrence of a diameter increase was assessed by time-to-event analysis; interreader agreement for diameter and morphological evaluation by intraclass correlation coefficient and weighted κ statistics, respectively. Fifteen of 83 (18.1%) lesions (eight florid, one focal, six periapical) in 10 patients increased in diameter; 12 of 83 (14.5%) lesions (five florid, seven periapical) in 11 patients changed morphologically. The median period until a diameter increase was longest (120 months) for periapical COD, and shortest (66 months) for florid COD (p = 0.023). There was high reader agreement (ICC = 0.891; weighted κ = 0.901). In conclusion, CBCT is an effective tool with which to follow-up COD. If any, the natural progress in uncomplicated COD is prolonged, which underlines its non-surgical character and aids in its long-term management.

BACKGROUND
Reconstruction of the entire dentition with odontogenic keratocyst is a very challenging quandary. Most cases of odontogenic keratocyst are often reported to be benign, resulting in severe occlusal discrepancies with the maxillary and mandibular dentition. Dental radiographs occasionally reveal an uncommon, locally aggressive developing cyst termed as odontogenic keratocyst, which is typically located in the posterior jaw. When this cyst occurs in the anterior region, it is often misdiagnosed with other periapical lesions due to its lack of response to pulp vitality tests.
CASE PRESENTATION
This clinical case scenario demarcates the endodontic management of a patient diagnosed with odontogenic keratocyst. A 37-year-old Indian male patient reported to the department with throbbing pain in the lower left posterior tooth requiring endodontic therapy. This patient also presented with odontogenic keratocyst in the anterior region of the jaw, for which he had undergone surgical rehabilitation. This case report highlights the clinical protocol for the endodontic therapy in patient diagnosed with ododntogenic keratocyst. Masticatory impairment was not visible after the follow-up period and the treatment outcome was successful.
CONCLUSION
This case report details the presentation, characteristic radiographic findings, and endodontic management of a patient with an extremely rare condition of odontogenic keratocyst. The management involves multidisciplinary approach for the rehabilitation.

Ossifying fibroma (OF) is a slow-growing benign fibro-osseous neoplasm. It is mostly odontogenic in origin, and it arises in the jaws, particularly the mandible. OF is characterized by the production of bone and cementum-like calcifications in a fibrous stroma. OF reports of the bone of the maxilla are uncommon. Diagnosing OF can be challenging due to the considerable overlap of clinico-pathological characteristics with those of other neoplasms. Herein, the authors describe a case report OF in a 26-year-old male who presented with a huge fibro-osseous tumor of the maxilla. Histopathology established the diagnosis of maxillary OF. The tumor was surgically removed via a Weber-erguson approach with satisfactory functional and cosmetic results. No recurrence has been found after one year of follow-up. Clinical, radiological, and pathological characteristics, as well as surgical treatment approaches, are further discussed. This is one of a few documented cases of maxillary OF in our setting.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE
The objective of this case report is to offer insight into an expansive compound-complex odontoma located in the anterior maxilla of a 15-year-old male. The focus is placed on the importance of early detection and the progressive comprehension of odontomas.
BACKGROUND
Odontomas are common odontogenic lesions that are frequently discovered during examinations for delayed tooth eruption. There are two distinct classifications for odontomas-compound odontomas and complex odontomas. With its own each set of characteristics. A timely diagnosis is critical for avoiding complications.
CASE DESCRIPTION
A male individual aged 15 years exhibited an expansive compound-complex odontoma located in the anterior maxilla. The clinical examination showed delayed tooth eruption and asymptomatic swelling. The radiographic images showed a radiopaque mass with tooth-like structures and radiolucent borders affecting the surrounding dentition. A surgical excision procedure was conducted, followed by a subsequent histopathological examination confirming the diagnosis of compound-complex odontoma. The patient continued orthodontic treatment after a 1-year follow-up without recurrence.
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE
This case emphasizes the importance of regular dental exams in detecting odontomas early. This observation also highlights the growing understanding of odontomas as hamartomatous odontogenic malformations and the challenges of diagnosing them clinically. Additional molecular investigations are required to facilitate the classification and elucidation of genetic factors.

Fibro-osseous lesions (FOLs) of the craniomaxillofacial region comprise a group of developmental, dysplastic, and neoplastic alterations. FOLs include ossifying fibromas (OF), cemento-ossifying fibroma (COF), familial gigantiform cementoma (FGC), fibrous dysplasia (FD), and cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD). Evidence suggests that some FOL, especially FD and OF may have a risk of spontaneous malignant transformation. This report documents a rare case of malignant transformation of ossifying fibromas of the jaw and the probable cause for same. Although it is rare, the clinician should have a complete follow up to observe such changes among the patients having FOLs.
