Vitamins play a vital role in human health, particularly in the development and maintenance of oral health in children. These nutrients are broadly categorized into fat-soluble and water-soluble types, crucial for children's well-being. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of vitamin deficiencies on the oral health of children, focusing on how these deficiencies contribute to various oral health issues and determining the relationship between specific vitamin shortages and oral diseases. Findings indicate that shortages in vitamins A and D lead to enamel issues and a higher susceptibility to dental diseases, vitamin E assists in treating oral mucositis, and vitamin K is essential for blood clotting in dental surgeries. Deficits in B-complex and vitamin C result in enamel hypomineralization and soft tissue ailments, including aphthous stomatitis and gingival petechiae. Additionally, a lack of vitamin B7 compromises the immune response, increasing oral candidiasis risk. Therefore, vitamin deficiencies markedly affect children's oral health, highlighting the need for joint efforts between dental professionals and caregivers for effective pediatric care. Addressing vitamin deficiencies through supplementation and tailored dental care emphasizes the significance of nutritional health in children's overall and dental well-being, advocating for a collaborative approach to achieve optimal health outcomes.

We report a long-term remission in candidiasis in a 57-year-old Finnish female with autoimmune polyendocrinopathy-candidiasis-ectodermal dystrophy (APECED) suffering from recurrent oral, esophageal, gastric, vaginal, and anal candidiasis since childhood. Candidiasis treatment with antifungal medicines fluconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, voriconazole, caspofungin, nystatin, or amphotericin-B during 2008-2021 had variable effects and intermittent development of antifungal resistance and hospital periods. The patient started using fermented lingonberry juice (FLJ) as a mouth rinse daily in April 2021. No symptoms or mucosal signs of candidiasis in any part of the digestive system or vaginal area have been noticed during this exceptionally long-term 2 ½ year remission in candidiasis without antifungal medications.

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a real gynecological problem among women of reproductive age from 15 to 49. A recent analysis showed that 75% of women will have an occurrence at least once per year, while 5% are observed to have recurrent vaginal mycosis-these patients may become unwell four or more times a year. This pathology is caused in 85-90% of cases by fungi of the species. It represents an intractable medical problem for female patients due to pain and pruritus. Due to the observation of an increasing number of strains resistant to standard preparations and an increase in the recurrence of this pathology when using local or oral preferential therapy, such as fluconazole, an analysis was launched to develop alternative methods of treating VVC using herbs such as dill, turmeric, and berberine. An in-depth analysis of databases that include scientific articles from recent years made it possible to draw satisfactory conclusions supporting the validity of herbal therapy for the pathology in question. Although phytotherapy has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, it appears to be a promising therapeutic solution for strains that are resistant to existing treatments. There is research currently undergoing aimed at comparing classical pharmacotherapy and herbal therapy in the treatment of vaginal candidiasis for the purpose of increasing medical competence and knowledge for the care of the health and long-term comfort of gynecological patients.

BACKGROUND
Candida, a common oral microbiota, can cause opportunistic fungal infections. With rising Candida infections and limited effective antifungals, new treatments are needed. This study investigates carvacrol essential oil's effect on oral candidiasis, alone and with nystatin, compared to nystatin alone.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
In this study, oral samples were collected from dental clinic patients, especially denture users. The presence of Candida was confirmed and cultured from these samples. Candidiasis was detected by observing Candida colonies. Drug sensitivity was tested on 100 positive samples. The minimum concentration of inhibition and lethality of each isolate was evaluated using nystatin and carvacrol. The results were compared using two-way analysis of variance. Finally, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of nystatin and carvacrol was calculated individually and in combination.
RESULTS
The present study found that Candida albicans and non-albicans species were equally prevalent. Carvacrol showed significant biological activity against all Candida species, with an average MTT of 50.01%. The average MIC value of carvacrol was 24.96 µg/ml, indicating its potential to inhibit Candida growth. The mean Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC) value of carvacrol was 23.48 µg/ml, suggesting its effectiveness in killing the fungi.
CONCLUSION
The study's findings reveal that the MIC of carvacrol was significantly lower than that of nystatin and the combination of nystatin and carvacrol. This suggests that carvacrol holds potential as an effective herbal remedy for candidiasis.

This research was done to analyze the effectiveness related to herbal chemicals in tackling candidiasis.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Grounded and ethanol-extracted residues of plants like Avicennia marina, Fagonia indica, Portulaca oleracea, Lawsania inermis, Ziziphus spina, Asphodelus tenuifolius, and Salvadora persica were used in the study. The extract was used against candida species, after which the antibacterial as well as cytotoxicity toward the former were evaluated.
RESULTS
and with minimal inhibitory concentration of approx. 10 cenmL had an increased activity against candida species. The preparations of these plants acted against during its stages related to pathogenesis during biofilm production. Superadded infections like in case of bacterial infections along with candida can be difficult to cure. On human RBCs, these plant preparations had no toxicity at their minimum inhibitory concentration level.
CONCLUSION
We concluded that, as far as being anti-candida and acting against MDR bacterial infections, preparations of plants were effective as an alternative to allopathic drugs.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has inundated the whole world by causing severe acute respiratory syndrome in humans, thus posing serious public health concerns. The oral and olfactory systems are significantly impacted by the COVID-19 condition, in addition to the respiratory and digestive systems. Oral symptoms of COVID-19 can be caused by a loss in oral hygiene, immune system suppression, a decline in general health, and candidiasis due to prolonged antibiotic use. Because many aerosols and droplets are produced during various dental operations, dental professionals and dentists are at a significant risk of contracting the COVID-19 infection. Few precautionary measures include performing a pre-appointment health screening for all patients, performing aerosol-producing procedures in a designated space or operatory, using proper personal protective equipment and disinfecting the operatory between patients, and limiting the number of dental procedures at one time. Against this background, the purposes of this article are to explore the oral presentations of COVID-19 infection and to emphasize the hazards to dental professionals during COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, few preventive measures are also highlighted.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) can take place in the presence of three elements: Light with an appropriate wavelength; a photosensitizer; and the presence of oxygen. This type of treatment is very effective overall against bacterial, viral and mycotic cells. In the last 10 years many papers have been published on PDT with different types of photosensitizers (, methylene blue, toluidine blue, indocyanine green, curcumin-based photosensitizers), different wavelengths (, 460 nm, 630 nm, 660 nm, 810 nm) and various parameters (, power of the light, time of illumination, number of sessions). In the scientific literature all types of PDT seem very effective, even if it is difficult to find a standard protocol for each oral pathology. PDT could be an interesting way to treat some dangerous oral infections refractory to common pharmacological therapies, such as candidiasis from multidrug-resistant .

Introduction Most fungal infections are responsive to antifungal therapy. However, failure to diagnose the same can significantly affect the quality of lives of patients. Timely identification of fungal infections and their association with varied demographic and clinical parameters will help in improving the prognosis of the patient. The present study aims to evaluate the prevalence of fungal infections among various age groups and genders and also to evaluate the association of fungal infections with demographic parameters. Methods This study included a sample size of n = 600. The demographic and clinical details were compiled and transferred to IBM SPSS Version 23 software (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) for statistical analysis. Descriptive and Pearson chi-square tests were used to analyze the association of the type of fungal infection with gender, age, and comorbidities. A p-value of less than 0.05 is considered statistically significant. Results Angular cheilitis (40%, 240), followed by denture stomatitis (37.5%, 225), were the most common type of fungal infection among the sample population, and the elderly age group (51-72 years) was the most affected. Angular cheilitis was the most common infection among both males (21.4%, 128) and females (18.6%, 112), but candidiasis was reported more in females (18%, 108) than males (3%, 18) (p = 0.00). Angular cheilitis (32%, 192) and candidiasis (18%, 108) were more observed in association with anemia; however, denture stomatitis (34%, 204) was significantly higher among diabetics (p = 0.00). Conclusion The identification of associated systemic and demographic factors is as important as the treatment of fungal infection itself. The recognition of fungal infections and the role of parameters like age, gender, and systemic comorbidities in the development of fungal infections will have valuable implications for public health. Future research is required for a clear understanding of the same.

OBJECTIVES
This study aimed to determine the potency of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to the blood glucose level, amount of lymphocytes, and the expression of antibody anti- in oral candidiasis diabetes mellitus.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Thirty Wistar rats were divided into five groups: K1 normal-control group, while K2, P1, P2, and P3 were diabetes induced by streptozotocin 50 mg/kg body weight. Oral candidiasis was induced by inoculation 0.1 mL ATCC 10321 on dorsum of the tongue. P1 was given nystatin oral suspension, P2 was treated by HBOT 2.4 ATA, 3 × 30 minutes each with a 5-minute interval, and P3 was treated by the combination of nystatin and HBOT. All the treatments were performed for 5 consecutive days. Fasting blood glucose level was examined on glucometer strips, lymphocyte was examined from complete blood count, and the expression of antibody anti- was examined on immunohistochemistry staining STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: Data analyzed by a one-way analysis of variance and least significant difference test with the result of -value less than 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.
RESULTS
HBOT reduced blood glucose level ( > 0.05) increased the amount of lymphocyte ( < 0.05). All treatments reduced the expression of antibody anti- ( < 0.05) with the best result on combination of HBOT with nystatin.
CONCLUSION
HBOT decreased the blood glucose level, increased the amount of lymphocytes, and reduced the expression of antibody anti- in oral candidiasis diabetes mellitus.

It is the most frequently encountered infection in the oral cavity which can be predisposed by a number of factors including most commonly compromised immunity, certain drugs, poor oral hygiene, and ill-fitting dentures. Clinical presentation involves whitish patches or erythema over the buccal mucosa, tongue, and palate depending on the type and occurrence of the condition. Oral physicians have a key role in the diagnosis of such lesions as they are well acquainted with their appearance and features. Prompt treatment can be advised once the lesion is diagnosed. This case report presents a male patient aged 65 years who reported to the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology with a complaint of a burning sensation in the oral cavity for 4-5 days. On careful examination and based on the patient's past history, the diagnosis was given as acute pseudomembranous candidiasis. Candid mouth paint was advised which resolved the lesion and burning sensation completely. The primary takeaway from this case is that though candidiasis is routinely encountered in day-to-day practice, its diagnosis is usually missed due to its similarity with various other white lesions. Hence, the clinician must be acquainted well with lesions having diagnostic dilemmas as their appropriate diagnosis is crucial. Oral physicians play a vital role in cases of oral thrush in their diagnosis and accurate and prompt intervention.
