Music performance anxiety (MPA) is recognized as a distinct emotional behavior rather than merely a motor control disorder and is influenced by specific conditioning experiences. This study investigates the interrelationships between MPA, self-efficacy, and future career expectations among music students within the Chinese context. The participants of this study were 340 high school students majoring in music education and performance, drawn from three music schools in China. Data were collected using several questionnaires: the MPA Inventory for Adolescents (MPAI-A), the Self-Efficacy Formative Questionnaire, and the Career Futures Inventory (CFI). The findings indicate that MPA is negatively associated with self-efficacy and future career expectations. Additionally, self-efficacy acts as a partial moderator between MPA and career expectations, suggesting that enhancing the self-efficacy of music students can boost their future career aspirations and mitigate the adverse effects of MPA. This research explores the complex relationships among MPA, self-efficacy, and future career expectations, emphasizing the importance of curriculum and pedagogical strategies in music schools. Music students with high levels of self-efficacy may exhibit more confidence and stable performances before audiences. According to the panel regression analysis, self-efficacy significantly positively influences career expectations. An appropriate educational environment and supportive pedagogical approaches to MPA can foster the early career development of musicians.

INTRODUCTION
This study aimed to analyze the variations in pre- and post-competitive anxiety and self-confidence considering match outcomes, the performance according to the result and the correlation among performance and psychological variables.
METHODS
The sample consisted on 12 matches in which 11 high-level padel players from Finland (top 24) voluntarily participated. CSAI-2R and STAI-S were used to assess psychological variables and technical-tactical performance was evaluated by a certified padel coach.
RESULTS
Losing players presented higher cognitive ( = .004), somatic ( = .020) and state ( = .001) anxiety and lower selfconfidence ( = .014), and winning players showed higher state anxiety ( = .022), after than before the matches. Post-match, winning players exhibited higher self-confidence ( = .015) than losing players. Winning players made more winners ( = .010) than losing players. There are direct correlations between unforced errors and post-state anxiety ( = .015), unforced errors and state anxiety ( = .009) and winners and cognitive anxiety ( = .033), in winning players; between generators of forced error and post-cognitive anxiety ( = .034), forced errors and cognitive anxiety in losing players ( = .001). There are indirect correlations between forced errors and pre-cognitive anxiety ( = .009), winners and somatic anxiety ( = .046), unforced errors and state anxiety ( = .042) in losing players.
DISCUSSION
The outcomes imply the need for intervention programs to equip players, especially those facing defeat, with tools for anxiety management and self-confidence enhancement. Likewise, coaches are advised to incorporate exercises that promote the occurrence of winners.

BACKGROUND
A prevalent challenge in neuropsychological assessment, particularly when utilizing instruments designed for controlled laboratory environments, is that the outcomes may not correspond to an individual's real-life status. Accordingly, assessments of visuospatial working memory (VSWM) conducted in such settings might fail to capture certain facets of this function, as it operates in real life. On the other hand, entirely ecological assessments may risk compromising internal validity. This study aimed to develop an intermediate mode of assessment that measures VSWM in older adults by employing a setting, a task, and a response format that aligns closely with both laboratory and ecological assessments. Furthermore, a preliminary investigation was carried out to study the variations in spatial cognition among different demographic groups.
METHODS
In a two-session study, 77 healthy older adults, eight patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and seven patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) were recruited to complete the wayfinding questionnaire (WQ), the Corsi block-tapping task (CBTT), and the Spatial Memory Table (SMT). The SMT is a novel instrument developed specifically for this study, aiming to provide a more accurate measure of VSWM performance in older adults' everyday life. Test-retest and split-half reliabilities, as well as the face, content, concurrent, convergent, and known-groups validities, were analyzed to investigate the psychometric properties of the SMT.
RESULTS
The analyses were mainly centered on studying the psychometric properties of the SMT. Test-retest reliability (r = .753, p < .001) and split-half reliability (ρSC = 0.747) were found to be acceptable. Concurrent validity using CBTT (r = .264, p = .021), convergent validity using WQ subscales (navigation and orientation: r = .282, p = .014; distance estimation: r = .261, p = .024), and known-groups validity using the SMT scores among people with MCI and AD (χ2 = 35.194, df = 2, p < .001) were also indicative of the instrument's good validity. Data analysis also revealed acceptable levels of face validity (U = 4.50; p = .095) and content validity (CVR ≥ 0.60). As a result of comparing VSWM and wayfinding variables across genders and education levels, a significant difference was observed for navigation and orientation and spatial anxiety between women and men (p < .05). None of the variables were different among education levels.
CONCLUSION
The SMT was found to be a reliable and valid tool for measuring VSWM performance in older adults. Given these findings, the SMT can be regarded as a measure that sufficiently approximates both laboratory and real-life demands for VSWM. Additionally, the instrument demonstrated a preliminary acceptable capacity to differentiate between healthy individuals and those with MCI and AD.

Cancer-related cognitive impairment is a significant clinical challenge observed in patients with breast cancer, manifesting during or after treatment. This impairment leads to deteriorations in memory, processing speed, attention, and executive functioning, which profoundly impact patients' occupational performance, daily living activities, and overall quality of life. Grounded in the Symptom Science Model 2.0, this study investigates the contributing factors to Cancer-related cognitive impairment in breast cancer patients and develops a predictive nomogram for this demographic. Employing both univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses, this investigation delineates the predictive factors influencing outcomes in breast cancer patients. A nomogram was constructed leveraging these identified predictive factors, accompanied by internal validation through bootstrap resampling methodology (1000 bootstrap samples). The efficacy of the predictive model was assessed by employing the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test and calibration curves. The prevalence of cognitive impairment in breast cancer patients was identified to be 45.83%.Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified the independent predictors of Cancer-related cognitive impairment in breast cancer patients as place of residence, educational level, chemotherapy, benefit finding, post-traumatic growth, anxiety, fear of cancer progression, and fasting blood glucose levels. these factors were integrated into the nomogram. The Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test demonstrated that the prediction model was appropriately calibrated (χ = 11.520, P = 0.174). Furthermore, the model exhibited an area under the curve of 0.955 (95% CI 0.939 to 0.971) and a sensitivity of 0.906, evidencing its robust discriminative capacity and accuracy. Utilizing the Symptom Science Model 2.0 as a framework, this study comprehensively examines the multifaceted factors influencing Cancer-related cognitive impairment in breast cancer patients, spanning five critical domains: complex symptoms, phenotypic characterization, biobehavioral factors, social determinants of health, and patient-centered experiences. A predictive nomogram model was established, demonstrating satisfactory predictive accuracy and capability. This model is capable of identifying breast cancer patients with cognitive impairments with high precision. The findings furnish empirical evidence in support of the early detection, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for high-risk breast cancer patients afflicted with Cancer-related cognitive impairment.

OBJECTIVES
In this study, we assessed the impact of luteolin (LUT) on mood disorders (specifically anxiety and depression) induced by sleep deprivation (SD) by regulating pathways associated with neuroinflammation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Rapid eye movement (REM) SD was employed to induce anxiety and depression in the animal subjects. The animals were treated with PAX (15 mg/kg, positive control) and LUT (10 and 20 mg/kg) for a duration of 21 days. The anxiety and depressive disorders were evaluated using behavioral tests. Following the sacrifice of the animals, hippocampal tissues were stored for molecular investigations.
RESULTS
SD resulted in anxiety, as evidenced by the elevated plus maze test and open field test. Furthermore, the findings from the sucrose performance test, forced swimming test, and tail suspension test confirmed the presence of depressive-like behaviors in the animals. The nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome components, including apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a C-terminal caspase recruitment domain (ASC), NLRP3, and active Caspase-1, were up-regulated in the hippocampus (HC) of the animals subjected to REM SD. However, treatment with LUT demonstrated a significant reversal of the behavioral changes by modulating the NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome components in the HC.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that LUT demonstrated antidepressant effects via regulation of the NF-κB/NLRP3 inflammasome axis components in the HC.

OBJECTIVES
Pain is still a neglected problem in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). In this cross-sectional study, we examined the frequency of musculoskeletal pain in a sample of adult patients with persistent cognitive symptoms after mTBI and whether pain level affected cognition.
METHODS
The participants were 23 adult patients aged 18-50 referred to brain injury rehabilitation clinics for neuropsychological assessment after having sustained an mTBI. A non-injured control group ( = 29) was recruited through advertisements. The patients were, on average, assessed 22 months after trauma. All participants completed a comprehensive neuropsychological test battery and completed the Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Screening Questionnaire, The Rivermead Post-Concussion Symptoms Questionnaire, and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory.
RESULTS
Patients reported high levels of current pain and significantly more frequent neck and shoulder pain than the non-injured controls. Patients also reported high post-concussive symptoms and anxiety levels and performed less well on several neuropsychological tests. Pain level was associated with slower processing speed among the controls but not related to performance in the mTBI group.
CONCLUSION
We conclude that musculoskeletal pain is frequent in mTBI patients referred to rehabilitation settings. Furthermore, the results indicate that the interaction between pain and cognitive functioning differs in mTBI compared to controls. Our results implicate that pain screening should be an integrated part of neuropsychological rehabilitation after mTBI to identify conditions that run the risk of becoming chronic. The study was approved by the Regional Ethical Board in Stockholm, Sweden (04-415/2).

Interpersonal coordination is a key determinant of successful social interaction but can be disrupted when people experience symptoms related to social anxiety or autism. Effective coordination rests on individuals directing their attention towards interaction partners. Yet little is known about the impact of the attentional behaviours of the partner themselves. As the gaze of others has heightened salience for those experiencing social anxiety or autism, addressing this gap can provide insight into how symptoms of these disorders impact coordination. Using a novel virtual reality task, we investigated whether partner gaze (i.e., direct vs. averted) influenced the emergence of interpersonal coordination. Results revealed: (i) spontaneous coordination was diminished in the averted (cf. direct) gaze condition; (ii) spontaneous coordination was positively related to symptoms of social anxiety, but only when partner gaze was averted. This latter finding contrasts the extant literature and points to the importance of social context in shaping the relationship between symptoms of psychopathology and interpersonal coordination.

The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of mental health on the academic performance of junior and senior students studying in a university setting during the 2022-2023 academic year, in the post-COVID period. The study was conducted in Beijing, China, with the participation of 600 students, including 300 first-year students and 300 fifth-year students. DASS (Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale) and PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9) questionnaires were employed to measure mental health. The DASS assesses symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, while the PHQ-9 specifically evaluates depression severity. Academic performance was evaluated using a 12-point scale, which incorporated various criteria such as exam scores, coursework performance, and participation in extracurricular activities. The research was conducted across five faculties of the university from 2022 to 2023. In the study, fifth-year students demonstrated a higher level of mental health compared to first-year students, with an average DASS score of 27.1 and 24.2, respectively. Interestingly, despite this, first-year students achieved higher academic performance indicators, with an average score of 8.2 compared to 9.8 in fifth-year students. Correlation analysis revealed significant associations between stress, depression, and anxiety levels with academic performance (stress: r = -0.25, p < 0.001; depression: r = -0.20, p = 0.003; anxiety: r = -0.18, p = 0.008). These findings highlight the critical importance of addressing students' mental well-being, particularly in later academic years. Recommendations include implementing support programs and developing online resources for students.

OBJECTIVE
To identify cortical and subcortical volume, thickness and cortical area features and the networks they constituted related to anxiety in Parkinson's disease (PD) using structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI), and to integrate multimodal features based on machine learning to identify PD-related anxiety.
METHODS
A total of 219 patients with PD were retrospectively enrolled in the study. 291 sMRI features including cortical volume, subcortical volume, cortical thickness, and cortical area, as well as 17 clinical features, were extracted. Graph theory analysis was used to explore structural networks. A support vector machine (SVM) combination model, which used both sMRI and clinical features to identify participants with PD-related anxiety, was developed and evaluated. The performance of SVM models were evaluated. The mean impact value (MIV) of the feature importance evaluation algorithm was used to rank the relative importance of sMRI features and clinical features within the model.
RESULTS
17 significant sMRI variables associated with PD-related anxiety was used to build a brain structural network. And seven sMRI and 5 clinical features with statistically significant differences were incorporated into the SVM model. The comprehensive model achieved higher performance than clinical features or sMRI features did alone, with an accuracy of 0.88, a precision of 0.86, a sensitivity of 0.81, an F1-Score of 0.83, a macro-average of 0.85, a weighted-average of 0.92, an AUC of 0.88, and a result of 10-fold cross-validation of 0.91 in test set. The sMRI feature right medialorbitofrontal thickness had the highest impact on the prediction model.
CONCLUSION
We identified the brain structural features and networks related to anxiety in PD, and developed and internally validated a comprehensive model with multimodal features in identifying.

BACKGROUND
Professional athletes navigate a multitude of unique challenges associated to sport-specific factors (e.g., training, travel and competition) and non-sport factors (e.g., performance pressure, stress and anxiety) that can interfere with healthy sleep behaviors. Sleep plays a key role in proper biopsychosocial development as well as short- and long-term biological, physical, psychological, and cognitive health. As poor sleep quality is known to impair proper brain function, this study aimed to investigate the effect of sleep quality on a professional athlete's ability to train, recover, and perform, as well as their overall emotional and physical well-being.
METHODS
A cohort study was performed in 40 professional male cricket athletes from the Dutch national cricket team (mean age 26.5 ± 5.1 years). The athletes were monitored across a 22 weeks in-season training period. Sleep quality and overall emotional and physical well-being were assessed using daily sleep diaries and questionnaires which scored the readiness to train, stress levels, fatigue, muscle soreness and flu symptoms respectively. Quality of sleep and subsequent association with the consecutive elements of the well-being questionnaire were assessed through statistical using the student -test and clinical differences with the methodology of Osoba and colleagues: <5% "no change", 5%-10% "little change"; 10%-20% "moderate change"; and >20% "very much change".
RESULTS
The results demonstrated that the professional athletes assessed their sleep quality as average with a mean score of 3.4 out of 5. Lower perceived quality of sleep (<75th percentile) was correlated with a decreased readiness to train (mean score 3.2 [IQR: 3.0-4.0] vs. 3.5 [IQR: 3.0-5.0]; < 0.001) and increased extent of muscle soreness (2.7 [IQR: 2.0-3.0] vs. 2.3 [IQR: 2-3]; < 0.001), stress level (mean score 2.3 [IQR: 2.0-3.0] vs. 1.9 [IQR: 1.0-2.0]; < 0.001) and perceived fatigue (mean score 2.9 [IQR: 2.0-3.0] vs. 2.3 [IQR: 2.0-3.0]; < 0.001). Likewise, in patients with lower perceived quality of sleep, the proportion of players presenting with flu symptoms increased over 4-fold (4.1% vs. 17%; < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONS
This study highlights that good sleep quality positively influences the overall emotional and physical well-being of professional athletes. Our results emphasize the importance of targeted sleep interventions to improve sleep quality and subsequently optimize psychological and physiological wellness.
