OBJECTIVE
Postpartum depression (PPD) has deleterious effects on both maternal and child outcomes. Poor maternal nutrition during pregnancy has been implicated in the development of PPD. This review aimed to explore the association between the overall dietary intake patterns during pregnancy and the development of PPD.
METHODS
A literature search was performed in PubMed, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, and PsycINFO databases for relevant randomized controlled trials, cohort and cross-sectional studies published up to 17th September 2020. Included studies assessed at least one dietary pattern during pregnancy and reported on PPD. The Newcastle Ottawa Scale and the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tools were used to assess the quality of methodology. A narrative analysis was conducted.
RESULTS
Ten studies (eight cohort and two cross-sectional) were included with substantial heterogeneity in measurements of dietary intake exposures and PPD. The studies identified several types of healthy dietary patterns, including a 'healthy', 'health conscious', 'Japanese', 'high-glycemic index/glycemic load', 'Vegetable', 'Nut-Fruit', 'Seafood', and 'compliance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines'. The 'Western', 'unhealthy', 'Beverage', 'Cereal-Meat', and 'Egg' were labelled as unhealthy dietary patterns. Four of the eight studies showed an inverse association between adherence to healthy diets and risk of PPD, whereas only one of the seven studies showed that adherence to unhealthy diets was associated with increased risk of PPD. Methodological quality of the studies varied across the sample.
CONCLUSIONS
Our findings indicate that adherence to a healthy diet may be beneficial for PPD. However, the relationship between unhealthy diets and PPD needs to be corroborated by more high-quality studies.

Association of general anesthesia exposure with risk of postoperative delirium in patients receiving transcatheter aortic valve replacement: a meta-analysis and systematic review.
The aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the association of general anesthesia (GA) exposure with the risk of POD in this patient population. Databases including Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane library, and Google Scholar were searched from inception to December 2022. Analysis of 17 studies published between 2015 and 2021 involving 10,678 individuals revealed an association of GA exposure with an elevated risk of POD [odd ratio (OR) = 1.846, 95% CI 1.329 to 2.563, p = 0.0003, I = 68.4%, 10,678 patients]. Subgroup analysis of the diagnostic methods also demonstrated a positive correlation between GA exposure and POD risk when validated methods were used for POD diagnosis (OR = 2.199, 95% CI 1.46 to 3.31, p = 0.0002). Meta-regression analyses showed no significant impact of age, male proportion, and sample size on the correlation between GA and the risk of POD. The reported overall incidence of POD from the included studies regardless of the type of anesthesia was between 0.8 and 27%. Our meta-analysis showed a pooled incidence of 10.3% (95% CI 7% to 15%). This meta-analysis suggested an association of general anesthesia with an elevated risk of postoperative delirium, implying the necessity of implementing appropriate prophylactic strategies against this complication when general anesthesia was used in this clinical setting.

Both 25-autoimmunity and(25(OH)D: calcifediol) and its active form, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D (1,25(OH)D: calcitriol), play critical roles in protecting humans from invasive pathogens, reducing risks of autoimmunity, and maintaining health. Conversely, low 25(OH)D status increases susceptibility to infections and developing autoimmunity. This systematic review examines vitamin D's mechanisms and effects on enhancing innate and acquired immunity against microbes and preventing autoimmunity. The study evaluated the quality of evidence regarding biology, physiology, and aspects of human health on vitamin D related to infections and autoimmunity in peer-reviewed journal articles published in English. The search and analyses followed PRISMA guidelines. Data strongly suggested that maintaining serum 25(OH)D concentrations of more than 50 ng/mL is associated with significant risk reduction from viral and bacterial infections, sepsis, and autoimmunity. Most adequately powered, well-designed, randomized controlled trials with sufficient duration supported substantial benefits of vitamin D. Virtually all studies that failed to conclude benefits or were ambiguous had major study design errors. Treatment of vitamin D deficiency costs less than 0.01% of the cost of investigation of worsening comorbidities associated with hypovitaminosis D. Despite cost-benefits, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency remains high worldwide. This was clear among those who died from COVID-19 in 2020/21-most had severe vitamin D deficiency. Yet, the lack of direction from health agencies and insurance companies on using vitamin D as an adjunct therapy is astonishing. Data confirmed that keeping an individual's serum 25(OH)D concentrations above 50 ng/mL (125 nmol/L) (and above 40 ng/mL in the population) reduces risks from community outbreaks, sepsis, and autoimmune disorders. Maintaining such concentrations in 97.5% of people is achievable through daily safe sun exposure (except in countries far from the equator during winter) or taking between 5000 and 8000 IU vitamin D supplements daily (average dose, for non-obese adults, ~70 to 90 IU/kg body weight). Those with gastrointestinal malabsorption, obesity, or on medications that increase the catabolism of vitamin D and a few other specific disorders require much higher intake. This systematic review evaluates non-classical actions of vitamin D, with particular emphasis on infection and autoimmunity related to the immune system.

OBJECTIVE
There is limited safety data on the use of everolimus during pregnancy. In this study, we present the maternal and neonatal outcomes of everolimus used throughout the course of pregnancy and conducted a systematic review of reports of everolimus use after organ transplantation during pregnancy.
CASE REPORT
A woman with type 1 diabetes who underwent kidney transplantation was treated with tacrolimus, everolimus, and prednisolone. Two years later, she became pregnant. At 27 weeks of gestation, an emergent cesarean delivery was performed owing to severe preeclampsia and fetal distress. No congenital malformation was noted in the baby at a corrected age of 4 months, and the maternal renal function remained stable.
CONCLUSION
Our systematic review did not identify evidence of teratogenicity in babies exposed to everolimus as an immunosuppressant after transplantation. To better assess the risk of exposure to everolimus during pregnancy, all cases of new pregnancies occurring in transplant recipients receiving treatment with mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitor inhibitors should be reported.

BACKGROUND
Existing evidence indicates that exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) may increase the risk of hypertension, but the findings are inconsistent. Therefore, we aimed to explore the relationship between PFASs and hypertension through this systematic review and meta-analysis.
METHODS
We searched PubMed, Embase, and the Web of Science databases for articles published in English that examined the relationship between PFASs and hypertension before 13 August 2022. The random effects model was used to aggregate the evaluation using Stata 15.0 for Windows. We also conducted subgroup analyses by region and hypertension definition. In addition, a sensitivity analysis was carried out to determine the robustness of the findings.
RESULTS
The meta-analysis comprised 15 studies in total with 69,949 individuals. The risk of hypertension was substantially and positively correlated with exposure to perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) (OR = 1.31, 95% CI: 1.14, 1.51), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) (OR = 1.16, 95% CI: 1.07, 1.26), and perfluorohexane sulfonate (PFHxS) (OR = 1.04, 95% CI: 1.00, 1.09). However, perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) exposure and hypertension were not significantly associated (OR = 1.08, 95% CI: 0.99, 1.17).
CONCLUSION
We evaluated the link between PFASs exposure and hypertension and discovered that higher levels of PFOS, PFOA, and PFHxS were correlated with an increased risk of hypertension. However, further high-quality population-based and pathophysiological investigations are required to shed light on the possible mechanism and demonstrate causation because of the considerable variability.

E-cigarette and tobacco-related content on social media continues to rise from lax restrictions on both personal and promotional posts. This content has been linked to various mechanisms of increased e-cigarette and tobacco use (i.e., lower risk perceptions and increased susceptibility). This study aimed to synthesis the association between exposure to e-cigarette and tobacco-related content and youth behaviours and attitudes.
METHODS
A comprehensive search was conducted on PubMed, Scopus, PsycINFO and Web of Science. Studies published post-2004 reporting effect estimates for exposure or engagement with e-cigarette or tobacco content on social media and behaviour or attitude outcomes were included.
RESULTS
Thirty-two studies (N = 274,283, aged 9 to 25 years) were included for synthesis. Meta-analyses revealed significant associations between engagement with tobacco content and use (OR 2.21; 95% CI = 1.27-3.82, p =.005; I = 96.4%), exposure to tobacco content and never users' lower risk perceptions (OR 0.68; 95% CI = 0.49-0.91; p =.011; I = 78.2%), and exposure to e-cigarette content and use (OR 1.37; 95% CI = 0.99-1.88; p = 0.058; I = 64.4%). There was no observed relationship between exposure to tobacco content and ever users' risk perceptions (OR 0.83; 95% CI = 0.61-1.13; p =.231; I = 83.5%). Qualitative synthesis found significant associations between tobacco exposure and increased current use and pro-tobacco attitudes; e-cigarette exposure and increased susceptibility and lower risk perceptions; tobacco engagement and increased susceptibility; e-cigarette engagement and increased use; dual exposure and increased susceptibility; and dual engagement and increased dual use. Mixed findings were identified for the influence of e-cigarette exposure on attitudes, tobacco exposure on susceptibility, dual exposure on dual use behaviours, and dual engagement on dual susceptibility.
CONCLUSIONS
Findings suggest an association between exposure and engagement to e-cigarette or tobacco products on social media and use or pro-use attitudes among youth. Further substantive research in the area of youth-specific use and attitudes following exposure and engagement with e-cigarette and tobacco content is needed to quantify this association.

While noise pollution from transportation has become an important public health problem, the relationships between different sources of traffic noise and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain inconclusive. A comprehensive meta-analysis was therefore conducted to quantitatively assess the effects of long-term exposure to road traffic, railway, and aircraft noise on CVDs and relevant subtypes. We systematically retrieved PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for articles published before April 4, 2022. Summary relative risks (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated by the fixed- or random-effects models. In total, 23 articles were included in our meta-analysis. The risk of CVDs increased by 2% (RR 1.020, 95% CI 1.006-1.035) and 1.6% (RR 1.016, 95% CI 1.000-1.032) for every 10 dB increment of road traffic and aircraft noise. For CVD subtypes, the risk increased by 3.4% (1.034, 1.026-1.043) for stroke and 5% (1.050, 1.006-1.096) for heart failure with each 10 dB increment of road traffic noise; the risk of atrial fibrillation increased by 1.1% (1.011, 1.002-1.021) with each 10 dB increment of railway noise; and the risk increased by 1% (1.010, 1.003-1.017) for myocardial infarction, 2.7% (1.027, 1.004-1.050) for atrial fibrillation, and 2.3% (1.023, 1.016-1.030) for heart failure with each 10 dB increment in aircraft noise. Further, effects from road traffic, railway, and aircraft noise all followed positive linear trends with CVDs. Long-term exposure to traffic noise is positively related to the incidence risk of cardiovascular events, especially road traffic noise which significantly increases the risk of CVDs, stroke, and heart failure.

INTRODUCTION
Solid organ transplant recipients (SOTR) are at an increased risk for developing keratinocyte carcinomas (KC). Four ultraviolet (UV) modifying factors have been identified that impact the incidence of KC: Fitzpatrick Skin Type (FST), race, sun exposure, and sun-protective factors.
OBJECTIVES
We conducted a systematic review to summarize the association between UV modifying factors and the incidence of KC in SOTR.
METHODS
We systematically searched PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, and after screening for inclusion and exclusion criteria, we included 13 studies with 6,910 solid organ transplant recipients in our analysis.
RESULTS
Our review found that lower FST (I-II), white and Latinx populations, lack of regulated sunscreen application, and occupational and residential sun exposure are individual risk factors among solid organ transplant recipients for KC incidence. Although previous studies showed an in-creased SCC:BCC ratio, some studies found a contradictory increased BCC:SCC ratio. Limitations include few research studies that analyze these UV modifying factors and a lack of incorporating both varying immunosuppressant factors and transplantation follow-up times.
CONCLUSIONS
These findings support the need for dermatological advice in increased risk patient demographic populations, lower FST and white and Latinx populations, and subsequently moderating sun exposure and protective factors.

BACKGROUND
This review aimed to establish a holistic perspective of long-term PM exposure and cardiometabolic diseases, identify long-term PM-related cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors, and provide practical significance to preventative measures.
METHOD
A combination of computer and manual retrieval was used to search for keywords in PubMed (2903 records), Embase (2791 records), Web of Science (5488 records) and Cochrane Library (163 records). Finally, a total of 82 articles were considered in this meta-analysis. Stata 13.0 was accustomed to inspecting the studies' heterogeneity and calculating the combined effect value (RR) by selecting the matching models. The subgroup analysis, sensitivity analysis and publication bias tests were also performed.
RESULTS
Meta-analysis figured an association between PM and cardiometabolic diseases. PM (per 10 μg/m increase) boosted the risk of hypertension (RR = 1.14, 95 % CI: 1.09-1.19), coronary heart disease (CHD) (RR = 1.21, 95 % CI: 1.08-1.35), diabetes (RR = 1.16, 95 % CI: 1.11-1.21) and stroke (including ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke). PM (per 10 μg/m increase) elevated the incidence of hypertension (RR = 1.11, 95 % CI: 1.07-1.16) and diabetes (RR = 1.26, 95 % CI: 1.08-1.47). PM (per 10 μg/m increase) exposure increased the risk of total dyslipidemia, yielding the RR of 1.10 (95 % CI: 1.01-1.18). Furthermore, the elderly, overweight and higher background pollutant level were potentially susceptible to related diseases.
CONCLUSION
There was a virtual connection between long-term exposure to PM and cardiometabolic diseases. PM or PM (per 10 μg/m) increased the risk of hypertension, CHD, diabetes, stroke and dyslipidemia, causing cardiovascular "multimorbidity" in high-risk populations.

BACKGROUND
The risk of skin cancer is determined by environmental factors like ultraviolet radiation (UVR), personal habits like time spent outdoors and genetic factors. This review aimed to survey existing studies in gene-environment (GxE) interaction on skin cancer risk, and report on GxE effect estimates.
METHODS
We searched Embase, Medline (Ovid) and Web of Science (Core Collection) and included only primary research that reported on GxE on the risk of the three most common types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and melanoma. Quality assessment followed the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Meta-analysis was not possible because no two studies examined the same interaction. This review was registered on PROSPERO (CRD42021238064).
RESULTS
In total 260 records were identified after exclusion of duplicates. Fifteen studies were included in the final synthesis-12 used candidate gene approach. We found some evidence of GxE interactions with sun exposure, notably, with MC1R, CAT and NOS1 genes in melanoma, HAL and IL23A in BCC and HAL and XRCC1 in SCC.
CONCLUSION
Sun exposure seems to interact with genes involved in pigmentation, oxidative stress and immunosuppression, indicating that excessive UV exposure might exhaust oxidative defence and repair systems differentially, dependent on genetic make-up. Further research is warranted to better understand skin cancer epidemiology and develop sun exposure recommendations. A genome-wide approach is recommended as it might uncover unknown disease pathways dependent on UV radiation.
