BACKGROUND
Gastric cancer (GC) is a malignant digestive tract tumor with a high recurrence rate and poor prognosis. Fucosylation is important in tumor glycosylation, in which the key enzyme is fucosyltransferase (FUT). FUT11 is a member of the fucosyltransferase family and has been closely associated with the development of multiple cancers. However, the specific relationship between FUT11 and GC prognosis and its molecular mechanism has not been fully studied. This study explored FUT11 expression, clinical correlation, and its role in GC occurrence and development to deepen understanding of its function.
METHODS
FUT11 expression in 33 cancers was preliminarily analyzed using the Tumor Immunoassay Resource (TIMER2.0) database. FUT11 expression in GC was evaluated using The Cancer Genome Atlas stomach adenocarcinoma (TCGA-STAD) and Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA2) data and verified using the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) GSE65801 dataset. Furthermore, we studied the survival prognosis of FUT11 in GC and analyzed its effect on the survival rate of patients with GC using the KM-plotter. We also performed COX regression analysis on TCGA GC clinical data and analyzed FUT11 expression in the pathway using the STRING and LinkedOmics databases. Moreover, the relationship between FUT11 and GC immune infiltration level was examined, and the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis diagram was constructed. The FUT11 genetic variation information was retrieved using cBioPortal, and its drug sensitivity was analyzed using CellMiner. Finally, differential FUT11 expression in GC tissues was verified using immunohistochemistry.
RESULTS
The data mining and analysis demonstrated that FUT11 expression was abnormally elevated in GC tissues and correlated with poor patient prognosis. The FUT11 expression level was an independent prognostic factor for GC. The difference in FUT11 expression level resulted in different degrees of immune cell infiltration in the patients with GC, which might regulate the tumor microenvironment. FUT11 affected GC development by participating in cancer pathways such as PI3K-AKT, neuroactive ligand-receptor, and MAPK. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that FUT11 was highly expressed in GC.
CONCLUSIONS
This study revealed that FUT11 expression is significantly increased in GC tissues. This increase is associated with poor prognosis and might affect immune regulation. FUT11 might have immunological and targeted therapeutic value, providing a new approach to GC treatment.

Fibroblasts are crucial components of the skin structure. They were traditionally believed to maintain the skin's structure by producing extracellular matrix and other elements. Recent research illuminated that fibroblasts can respond to external stimuli and exhibit diverse functions, such as the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors, adipogenesis, and antigen presentation, exhibiting remarkable heterogeneity and plasticity. This revelation positions fibroblasts as active contributors to the pathogenesis of skin diseases, challenging the traditional perspective that views fibroblasts solely as structural entities. Based on their diverse functions, fibroblasts can be categorized into six subtypes: pro-inflammatory fibroblasts, myofibroblasts, adipogenic fibroblasts, angiogenic fibroblasts, mesenchymal fibroblasts, and antigen-presenting fibroblasts. Cytokines, metabolism, and epigenetics regulate functional abnormalities in fibroblasts. The dynamic changes fibroblasts exhibit in different diseases and disease states warrant a comprehensive discussion. We focus on dermal fibroblasts' aberrant manifestations and pivotal roles in inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases, including psoriasis, vitiligo, lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, and atopic dermatitis, and propose targeting aberrantly activated fibroblasts as a potential therapeutic strategy for inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases.

Heart failure imposes a significant global health burden, standing as a primary contributor to mortality. Various indicators and physiological shifts within the body may hint at distinct cardiac conditions. Specific biosensors have the capability to identify these changes. Integrating or embedding these biosensors into mechanical circulatory support devices (MCSDs), such as left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), becomes crucial for monitoring alterations in biochemical and physiological factors subsequent to an MCSD implantation. Detecting abnormal changes early in the course of disease progression will allow for improved patient outcomes and prognosis following an MCSD implantation. The aim of this review is to explore the available biosensors that may be coupled or implanted alongside LVADs to monitor biomarkers and changes in physiological parameters. Different fabrication materials for the biosensors are discussed, including their advantages and disadvantages. This review also examines the feasibility of integrating feedback control mechanisms into LVAD systems using data from the biosensors. Challenges facing this emerging technology and future directions for research and development are outlined as well. The overarching goal is to provide an overview of how implanted biosensors may improve the performance and outcomes of LVADs through continuous monitoring and closed-loop control.

OBJECTIVES
The COHQoL is a set of questionnaires used to evaluate the impact of oral health on children's quality of life. Although the CPQ8-10 and the P-CPQ have been translated and validated in French, the CPQ11-14 14 has not yet been validated. The aim was to develop a French version of the CPQ11-14 16-items.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The French version of CPQ11-14 was obtained by a forward-backward translation process and pretested. The final version was tested on children aged 11-14 and divided into three groups: children with orofacial clefts, children with rare dental diseases other than clefts, and children without anomalies. We conducted a cross-sectional study and evaluated the reliability with test-retest and internal consistency, and the questionnaire validity with construct validity and discriminant validity. We performed an Exploratory Factory Analysis (EFA).
RESULTS
187 children tested the questionnaire. The ICC of the test-retest was 0.76 and the Cronbach's alpha was 0.77. The correlation between the CPQ11-14 and self-assessment of oral health and general well-being was > 0.2. Patients with orofacial clefts and rare diseases had significantly higher scores for overall short-form CPQ11-14. The EFA revealed six factors.
CONCLUSION
The French CPQ11-14 is valid to assess the impact of oral health on children's quality of life.
CLINICAL RELEVANCE
The translation of this questionnaire into French will enable us to assess the impact of oral health on the quality of life of adolescents. This questionnaire complements the 8-10 years version of the CPQ, as well as the parental version that can be used in conjunction with the questionnaire.

PURPOSE
Compared to Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWS), the parameters of virtual SHWS (vSHWS) can be easily adjusted to obtain the optimal performance of aberration measurement. Its current optimal parameters are obtained with only a set of statistical aberrations and not statistically significant. Whether the above parameters are consistent with the statistical results of the optimal parameters corresponding to each set of aberrations, and which performance is better if not? The purpose of this study was to answer these questions.
METHODS
The optimal parameters to reconstruct 624 sets of clinical ocular aberrations in the highest accuracy, including the numbers of sub-apertures (NSAs) and the expansion ratios (ERs) of electric field zero-padding, were determined sequentially in this work. By using wavefront-reconstruction accuracy as an evaluation index, the statistical optimal parameter configuration was selected from some possible configurations determined by the optimal NSAs and ERs.
RESULTS
The statistical optimal parameters are consistent for normal and abnormal eyes. They are different from the optimal parameters obtained with a set of statistical aberrations from the same 624 sets of aberrations, and the performance using the former is better than that using the latter. The performance using a fixed set of statistical optimal parameters is even close to that using the respective optimal parameters corresponding to each set of aberrations.
CONCLUSION
The vSHWS configured with a fixed set of statistical optimal parameters can be used for high-precision aberration measurement of both normal and abnormal eyes. The statistical optimal parameters are more suitable for vSHWS than the parameters obtained with a set of statistical aberrations. These conclusions are significant for the designs of vSHWS and also SHWS.

PURPOSE
This review aims to summarize the current knowledge concerning the clinical features, diagnostic work-up, and therapeutic approach of uveitic epiretinal membranes (ERM).
METHODS
A thorough investigation of the literature was conducted using the PubMed database. Additionally, a complementary search was carried out on Google Scholar to ensure the inclusion of all relevant items in the collection.
RESULTS
ERM is an abnormal layer at the vitreoretinal interface, resulting from myofibroblastic cell proliferation along the inner surface of the central retina, causing visual impairment. Known by various names, ERM has diverse causes, including idiopathic or secondary factors, with ophthalmic imaging techniques like OCT improving detection. In uveitis, ERM occurrence is common, and surgical intervention involves pars plana vitrectomy with ERM peeling, although debates persist on optimal approaches.
CONCLUSIONS
Histopathological studies and OCT advancements improved ERM understanding, revealing a diverse group of diseases without a unified model. Consensus supports surgery for uveitic ERM in progressive cases, but variability requires careful consideration and effective inflammation management. OCT biomarkers, deep learning, and surgical advances may enhance outcomes, and medical interventions and robotics show promise for early ERM intervention.

Dyskeratosis congenita (DC) is a telomeropathy presenting diagnostic and therapeutic challenges across multiple specialties; yet, subtle dermatological signs enable early detection, altering patient prognosis. A specific DC genetic sequencing was performed according to the clinical criteria of our patient in study. Subsequently, cross-checked information in the main genetic databases was carried out. Additionally, an extensive review of the literature was made to organize the main dermatological aspects in DC. We report a novel variant of DC. Additionally, we share 10 useful and practical messages for dermatologists and any specialist caring for this group of patients.

PURPOSE
To assess the role of 3.0 T Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and Fiber Tractography (FT) of the testes in the work-up of nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA).
METHODS
This prospective study included consecutive NOA men and controls. A 3.0 T scrotal MRI was performed, including DTI. The testicular apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and fractional anisotropy (FA) were calculated. FT reconstructions were created. The Kruskal-Wallis test, followed by pairwise comparisons, assessed differences in testicular ADC and FA between NOA histologic phenotypes (group 1: hypospermatogenesis; group 2: maturation arrest; and group 3: Sertoli cell-only syndrome) and normal testes. The Mann-Whitney-U test compared ADC and FA between NOA testes with positive and negative sperm retrieval. Visual assessment of the testicular fiber tracts was performed. Fiber tracts fewer in number, of reduced thickness, disrupted and/or disorganized were considered "abnormal". Chi-square tests and binary logistic regression analysis assessed variations in testicular fiber tracts morphology.
RESULTS
Twenty-nine NOA men (mean age: 39 ± 5.93 years) and 20 controls (mean age: 26 ± 5.83 years) were included for analysis. Higher ADC (p < 0.001) and FA (p < 0.001) was observed in NOA testes compared to controls. Differences in FA were found between groups 1 and 3 (0.07 vs 0.10, p = 0.26) and groups 2 and 3 (0.07 vs 0.10, p = 0.03), but not between groups 1 and 2 (p = 0.66). An increase in FA was observed in NOA testes with Sertoli cell-only syndrome compared to hypospermatogenesis and maturation arrest. FA was higher in NOA testes with negative results for the presence of sperm compared to those with positive results (0.09 vs 0.07, p = 0.006). FT showed "abnormal" fiber tracts in NOA testes (p < 0.001).
CONCLUSION
3.0 T DTI and FT provide an insight into deranged spermatogenesis in NOA testes.

Cholecystectomy is one of the most performed surgical procedures. The safety of this surgery notwithstanding, the sheer volume of operations results in a notable incidence of post-cholecystectomy complications. Early and accurate diagnosis of such complications is essential for timely and effective management. Imaging techniques are critical for this purpose, aiding in distinguishing between expected postsurgical changes and true complications. This review highlights current knowledge on the indications for cholecystectomy, pertinent surgical anatomy and surgical technique, and the recognition of anatomical variants that may complicate surgery. The article also outlines the roles of various imaging modalities in identifying complications, the spectrum of possible postsurgical anatomical changes, and the implications of such findings. Furthermore, we explore the array of complications that can arise post-cholecystectomy, such as biliary system injuries, gallstone-related issues, vascular complications, and the formation of postsurgical collections. Radiologists should be adept at identifying normal and abnormal postoperative findings to guide patient management effectively.

Palpable calvarial lesions in children may require multi-modality imaging for adequate characterization due to non-specific clinical features. Causative lesions range from benign incidental lesions to highly aggressive pathologies. While tissue sampling may be required for some lesions, others have a typical imaging appearance, and an informed imaging approach facilitates diagnosis. This review illustrates imaging findings of common and clinically important focal pediatric calvarial bulges to aid the radiologist in narrowing the differential diagnosis and directing appropriate referral. We focus on birth-related lesions, congenital abnormalities, and modeling disturbances (i.e., those that produce a change in calvarial contour early in development), normal variants, and neoplastic lesions with their mimics.
