Background Postpartum depression (PPD) is a complex mix of physical, emotional, and behavioral changes that happen in some women after giving birth. Objectives The aim of the study is to determine the prevalence of PPD using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and evaluate the predisposing factors for PPD. Methodology The present observational study was conducted in the Department of Community Medicine, Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur, Odisha, India from May 2022 to November 2022. Using the EPDS, participants were assessed for postnatal depression. Every subject additionally filled out a risk factor questionnaire covering important sociodemographic and obstetric parameters. The prevalence of an EPDS score of 12 or above is the primary outcome measure. Results The study encompassed 121 mothers, with 8.26% scoring above the depression cutoff of 12 and 6.61% falling within the borderline range. Notably, all mothers surpassing the cutoff were from joint families, contrasting with those from nuclear families. A predominant portion of the depressive group was in their 20s, while the borderline group primarily consisted of mothers in their 30s. Urban residency and government hospital care were universal among the samples. Mode of delivery showed significance, with a higher prevalence of PPD observed among those who underwent a lower segment cesarean section. Additionally, maternal age, anemia, mode of delivery, educational status, adverse life events, and lack of partner support significantly correlated with depression scores. Notably, maternal age emerged as the most influential factor, followed by anemia and mode of delivery. Spearman correlation analysis revealed moderate negative associations between various aspects of maternal depression and the ages of their babies, indicating that younger infants were associated with greater maternal distress. However, the correlation between feeling sad or miserable and the baby's age was negligible. These findings emphasize the multifaceted nature of PPD, highlighting the interplay between sociodemographic factors, maternal well-being, and infant age.

BACKGROUND
This study aims to investigate the potential significance of mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) in predicting surgical neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and establish the correlation between MPV/PDW levels and the severity/prognosis of NEC.
METHODS
A retrospective study was conducted on a cohort of 372 patients diagnosed with NEC. The patients were categorized into two groups based on whether they underwent surgical therapy. Univariate /multivariate analysis were employed to compare the MPV and PDW between the two groups. Moreover, patients in surgical group were categorized into multiple subgroups based on intraoperative findings and postoperative prognosis, and the levels of MPV and PDW were compared among these subgroups.
RESULTS
Of the 372 patients, the operative group exhibited significantly higher levels of MPV and PDW than the nonoperative group (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed that MPV (OR = 4.895, P < 0.001) and PDW (OR = 1.476, P < 0.001) independently associated with surgical NEC. The analysis of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve revealed that the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.706 for MPV alone, with a cut-off value of 11.8 fL. Similarly, the AUC was 0.728 for PDW alone, with a cut-off value of 16%. However, when MPV and PDW were combined, the AUC increased to 0.906 for predicting surgical NEC. In accordance with the intraoperative findings, the levels of MPV and PDW were found to be higher in the large area necrosis group than in the partial or mild necrosis group (P < 0.01). Furthermore, the MPV and PDW values in the death group were significantly greater than those in the survival group (P =0.040, P =0.008).
CONCLUSION
MPV and PDW may serve as potentially valuable indicators for determining the need for surgical intervention and predicting the prognosis of patients with NEC.

BACKGROUND
Pre-clinical studies showed the anti-tumor mechanisms of PARP inhibitors (PARPi) and platinum have some crossover and overlap in the DNA damage repair pathway, patients who respond to platinum-based chemotherapy are also more likely to be sensitive to PARPi. This real-world study mainly aimed to evaluate whether TRAE (treatment-related adverse event) between platinum based chemotherapy (PBC) and niraparib are also associated.
METHODS
Patients received niraparib as maintenance treatment or salvage therapy for advanced ovarian cancer at the First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from January 2020 to August 2023 were included. Survival data of niraparib treatment and adverse events occurred during the last platinum-based chemotherapy cycle before starting niraparib treatment and during niraparib treatment are documented. Fisher's exact test were used for correlation analysis.
RESULTS
1. 40 patients treated with niraparib were included in the analysis, including 31 patients treated with niraparib for 1st-line maintenance therapy, 6 patients for PSR (platinum-sensitive recurrence) maintenance therapy, and 3 patients for salvage therapy. The overall median follow-up time was 15.0 months (ranged from 2.2 months to 32.1 months). 2. Overall grade≥3 TRAE (40% vs 70%, p=0.012) including anemia (20% vs 45%, p=0.041) and neutrophil count decreased (17.5% vs 57.5%, p<0.001) was significantly lower during niraparib treatment compared to during chemotherapy. 3. Any grade TRAE (75% vs 100%, p=0.002) including white blood cell count decreased (47.5% vs 87.5%, p<0.001), red blood cell count decreased (57.5% vs 92.5%, p<0.001), anemia (55% vs 87.5%, p<0.001) and neutrophil count decreased (35% vs 85%, p<0.001) were also significantly lower in niraparib treatment group compared with chemotherapy group. No new safety signals were identified.
CONCLUSION
1. In this real-world practice, we observed that patients with advanced ovarian cancer who experienced any grade and grade ≥3 TRAE during chemotherapy were well tolerated when treated with niraparib, particularly the incidence of any grade and grade ≥3 anemia, and neutrophil count decreased during niraparib treatment were significantly lower compared with that during chemotherapy. 2. For patients with ovarian cancer who have experienced grade ≥3 hematological adverse reactions during prior platinum-based chemotherapy, greater attention should be paid to the monitoring and management of hematological adverse reactions during subsequent treatment with niraparib.

BACKGROUND
Previous research has demonstrated the validity of the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index as a robust measure of insulin resistance (IR) and its association with coronary artery disease (CAD). The objective of this study is to elucidate the relationship between the TyG index and the prognosis of patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) through a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis. Our goal is to provide a thorough analysis of the available evidence to offer more clarity on this association.
METHODS
A systematic and thorough search was carried out in the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases, covering studies published in English from the beginning until October 1, 2023. The focus of the search was to gather relevant studies pertaining to the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). To address the variability among the included studies, random or fixed effect models were utilized to summarize the hazard ratios (HR). In cases where heterogeneity was detected, subgroup or sensitivity analyses were performed to explore potential sources. To evaluate publication bias, the Egger or Begg test was employed.
RESULTS
This study incorporated a total of 17 studies. Individuals with the highest TyG index exhibited an elevated risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) compared to those with the lowest TyG index (HR = 1.69; 95% CI: 1.47-1.95; < 0.001). When analyzing the TyG index as a continuous variable, each standard deviation increase was associated with an HR of 1.60 (95% CI: 1.48-1.73; < 0.001). Moreover, in patients diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), higher TyG index levels showed a trend of increased risk of MACE (HR = 1.54; 95% CI: 1.27-1.86; < 0.001). Furthermore, an elevated TyG index was found to be associated with a higher risk of in-stent restenosis (HR = 1.62; 95% CI: 1.29-2.03; < 0.001), new-onset atrial fibrillation (HR = 2.97; 95% CI: 2.10-4.06; = 0.014), and a reduction in quantitative flow ratio (HR = 1.35; 95% CI: 1.101-1.592; = 0.005). Subgroup analysis indicated the risk of MACE was comparable between varied durations of follow-up ( = 0.11). Furthermore, regression analysis revealed that the positive association between TyG index and the risk of MACE did not differ between individuals with or without diabetes ( = 0.23).
CONCLUSION
An increase in the TyG index may lead to a higher vulnerability to major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients underwent PCI and there was no significant difference in the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) between diabetic and non-diabetic individuals.

OBJECTIVES
To investigate risk factors for severe maternal morbidity (SMM) in pregnant women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and to develop a risk prediction model.
METHODS
A prospective observational cohort study was conducted among pregnant women who were hospitalized for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) between January 2016 and December 2020 in Fujian College of Clinical Medicine for Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics, Fujian Province, China (a training set), and a risk predictive model was constructed. Pregnant women with HDP who were hospitalized between January 2021 and December 2021 were selected as a validation set. Concordance index (C-index) and calibration curves were used to test predictive model discrimination and calibration.
RESULTS
We included 970 pregnant women (790 in the training set and 180 in the validation set). Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was used to screen for nine related variables such as intra-uterine growth retardation (IUGR), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) at suspected diagnosis, total bilirubin, albumin (ALB), uric acid, total cholesterol, serum magnesium, and suspected gestational age. SBP at suspected diagnosis (OR =1.22, 95%CI:1.08-1.42) and total cholesterol (OR = 1.78, 95%CI:1.17-2.80) were independent risk factors of severe maternal morbidity in pregnant women with HDP. A nomogram was constructed, and internal validation of the nomogram model was done using the bootstrap self-sampling method. C-index in the training and the validation set was 0.798 and 0.909, respectively.
CONCLUSION
Our prediction model can be used to determine gestational hypertension severity in pregnant women.

BACKGROUND
DIP2B is related to cancer progression. This study investigated the roles and pathways of DIP2B in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD).
METHODS
DIP2B expression and the relationship between survival time of cancer patients and DIP2B expression were analyzed. The relationship between DIP2B expression and survival time in LUAD patients was evaluated by a meta-analysis. Cox and survival analyses were used to evaluate the prognostic factors and construct a prognostic nomogram. The mechanisms and effects of DIP2B and the relationship between DIP2B expression and the immune microenvironment were investigated using bioinformatics, CCK-8, western blotting, and transwell experiments.
RESULTS
DIP2B was overexpressed in LUAD tissues. DIP2B overexpression was associated with shorter prognosis and was an unfavorable risk factor for prognosis in LUAD patients. DIP2B co-expressed genes were involved in cell division, DNA repair, cell cycle, and others. Inhibition of DIP2B expression could downregulate the proliferation, migration, and invasion of LUAD A549 and H1299 cells, which was related to the decrease in CCND1 and MMP2 protein expression. BRCA1 overexpression was associated with short prognosis, and the nomogram formed by DIP2B and BRCA1 was associated with a poor prognosis in LUAD patients. DIP2B expression correlated with immune cells (such as CD8 T cells, Tcm, and iDCs) and cell markers.
CONCLUSION
DIP2B is a potential biomarker of poor prognosis and the immune microenvironment in LUAD. Inhibition of DIP2B expression downregulated cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, which might be related to the decrease in CCND1 and MMP2 protein expression. DIP2B-related nomograms might be useful tools for predicting the prognosis of LUAD patients.

BACKGROUND
Ovarian cancer (OC) ranks as the fifth most prevalent neoplasm in women and exhibits an unfavorable prognosis. To improve the OC patient's prognosis, a pioneering risk signature was formulated by amalgamating disulfidptosis-related genes.
METHODS
A comparative analysis of OC tissues and normal tissues was carried out, and differentially expressed disulfidptosis-related genes (DRGs) were found using the criteria of |log2 (fold change) | > 0.585 and adjusted P-value <0.05. Subsequently, the TCGA training set was utilized to create a prognostic risk signature, which was validated by employing both the TCGA testing set and the GEO dataset. Moreover, the immune cell infiltration, mutational load, response to chemotherapy, and response to immunotherapy were analyzed. To further validate these findings, QRT-PCR analysis was conducted on ovarian tumor cell lines.
RESULTS
A risk signature was created using fourteen differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with disulfidptosis, enabling the classification of ovarian cancer (OC) patients into high-risk group (HRG) and low-risk group (LRG). The HRG exhibited a lower overall survival (OS) compared to the LRG. In addition, the risk score remained an independent predictor even after incorporating clinical factors. Furthermore, the LRG displayed lower stromal, immune, and estimated scores compared to the HRG, suggesting a possible connection between the risk signature, immune cell infiltration, and mutational load. Finally, the QRT-PCR experiments revealed that eight genes were upregulated in the human OC cell line SKOV3 compared with the human normal OC line IOSE80, while six genes were down-regulated.
CONCLUSIONS
A fourteen-biomarker signature composed of disulfidptosis-related genes could serve as a valuable risk stratification tool in OC, facilitating the identification of patients who may benefit from individualized treatment and follow-up management.

OBJECTIVE
To investigate the positive rate of late-onset gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) by additional fasting blood glucose (FBG) screening at 32-34 gestational weeks (GW) and analyse the perinatal outcomes of late-onset GDM after standard treatment.
DESIGN
An Prospective cohort study.
SETTING
Single centre in China.
POPULATION
1130 singleton pregnancies with negative GDM screening in their first and second trimester.
METHODS
Additional FBG testing was performed at 32-34 GW. Pregnancies with FBG ≥5.1 mmol/L were diagnosed as GDM and received standardized treatment. Perinatal outcomes were collected and compared.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES
Diagnosis of late-onset GDM, obstetric and neonatal outcomes.
RESULTS
6.3% (71/1130) of participants had FBG values ≥5.1 mmol/L and were diagnosed with late-onset GDM. Sixty-five (91.5%) were treated by dietary therapy and 6 (8.5%) by insulin therapy. The perinatal outcomes of full-term delivery were compared. The incidence of macrosomia (22.7% vs. 5.1%, adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 5.51, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.83-16.61, p = 0.002) and NICU transferring (18.3% vs. 10.1%, aOR 1.94, 95% CI 1.01-3.74, p = 0.046) was significantly higher in late-onset GDM group than that in FBG <5.1 mmol/L group. Elevated FBG was associated with overweight or obesity during pregnancy (54.9% vs. 34.9%, OR 2.27, 95% CI 1.40-3.68, p = 0.001).
CONCLUSIONS
6.3% of singleton pregnancies with normal GDM screening results in the first and second trimester were found to have late-onset GDM by additional FBG screening at 32-34 GW, and their risk of macrosomia during a full-term pregnancy remains significantly higher after standard treatment.

INTRODUCTION
Hybrid total laparoscopic hysterectomy combines conventional laparoscopic surgery and robot-assisted devices: the camera and assistant forceps are operated by a robotic device, whereas the surgeon performs laparoscopic procedures, enabling surgery with a completely fixed field of view and significantly reducing errors in forceps grasping and needle misalignment. Here, we examined whether using two arms of the Hugo™ robot-assisted surgery system, one for the camera and one for the assistant, would improve surgical accuracy compared with conventional total laparoscopic hysterectomy.
MATERIALS AND SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
The surgical system reduced surgeon errors in grasping the forceps during training and stabilized forceps operation. Compared with conventional laparoscopic surgery, the use of the surgical system did not result in different operative durations. The stable surgical procedure was considered a major advantage.
DISCUSSION
This new technique involving new equipment can improve surgeon training and performance. In the future, we will develop new techniques to improve surgical performance.

Application of ultrasonographic human estimated foetal weight formulas to cynomolgus monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) at 129-132 days of gestation: A comparative study of estimated and actual birthweight.
BACKGROUND
Cynomolgus monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) are essential in biomedical research, including reproductive studies. However, the application of human estimated foetal weight (EFW) formulas using ultrasonography (USG) in these non-human primates is not well established.
OBJECTIVES
This study aims to evaluate the applicability of human EFW formulas for estimating foetal weight in cynomolgus monkeys at approximately 130 days of gestation.
METHODS
Our study involved nine pregnant cynomolgus monkeys. We measured foetal parameters, including biparietal diameter, head circumference, abdominal circumference and femur length using USG. The EFW was calculated using 11 human EFW formulas. The actual birthweight (ABW) was recorded following Cesarean section, the day after the EFW calculation. For comparing EFW and ABW, we employed statistical methods such as mean absolute percentage error (APE) and Bland-Altman analysis.
RESULTS
The ABW ranged between 200.36 and 291.33 g. Among the 11 formulas, the Combs formula showed the lowest APE (4.3%) and highest correlation with ABW (p < 0.001). Notably, EFW and ABW differences for the Combs formula were ≤5% in 66.7% and ≤10% in 100% of cases. The Bland-Altman analysis supported these results, showing that all cases fell within the limits of agreement.
CONCLUSIONS
The Combs formula is applicable for estimating the weight of cynomolgus monkey fetuses with USG at approximately 130 days of gestation. Our observations suggest that the Combs formula can be applied in the prenatal care and biomedical research of this species.
