BACKGROUND
Compounded by the needs of an aging society, interactions between oral condition and systemic diseases may require that dentists pursue additional training in oral medicine beyond that received in dental school. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether pursuing oral medicine professional education is recognised by dental practitioners as an important factor regarding job satisfaction.
METHODS
A questionnaire was mailed to 1,379 dental practitioners in Japan, along with a follow-up survey to assess repeatability, in 2017. The questionnaire consisted of 19 items/questions related to the respondents' attributes and job satisfaction (5 items), willingness to learn oral medicine (4 items), willingness to learn more about dentistry (4 items), and willingness to contribute to society (6 items). Representative questions were extracted via binomial logistic regression analysis. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the relationships between job satisfaction and the explanatory variables.
RESULTS
Amongst 337 respondents, multivariable logistic regression analysis showed an association between strong job satisfaction (n = 126, 37%) and willingness to learn more about oral medicine and dentistry and contribute to society, with odds ratios (95% confidence interval) of 4.22 (1.84-9.68), 3.16 (1.16-8.62), and 7.32 (3.14-17.06) and κ values of 0.38, 0.58, and 0.51, respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
Our results from dental practitioners suggest additional benefits of oral medicine professional education for future job satisfaction.

Job satisfaction has a huge impact on overall life quality involving social relationships, family connection and perceived health status, affecting job performances, work absenteeism and job turnover. Over the past decades, the attention towards it has grown constantly. The aim of this study is to analyze simultaneously knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward job satisfaction in a general population in a large metropolitan area. The data acquired from 1043 questionnaires-administered to subjects with an average age of 35.24 years-revealed that only 30% is satisfied by his job. Moreover, among all the tested sample, 12% receive, or often receive intimidation by their superior, and 23% wake up unhappy to go to work. Marital status and having children seem to be an important factor that negatively influences job satisfaction through worst behaviours. The multiple linear regression analysis shows how knowledge is negatively correlated to practices; although this correlation is not present in a simple linear regression showing a mediation role of attitudes in forming practices. On the contrary, attitudes, correlated both to knowledge and practices, greatly affect perceived satisfaction, leading us to target our proposed intervention toward mindfulness and to improve welfare regulation towards couples with children.

Observational Study
Among Nursing and Psychology professionals, the job satisfaction of those in Adult Inpatient Units is analyzed, with a new scale to measure nursing workloads validated. : The objective of this study was to relate nursing workloads to professional job satisfaction. This is an observational, analytical, descriptive, concurrent and quantitative study, which used the Overall Job Satisfaction scale and subscales therein, to identify global satisfaction-intrinsic or related to motivational factors and extrinsic or associated with hygienic factors-in nursing professionals (n = 104) from eight Inpatient Units of Internal Medicine and Surgery, in four hospital centers, to describe job satisfaction in the professionals studied and to find statistically significant associations between job satisfaction and workload (measured with the scale MIDENF) in the inpatient units where they work. There were higher levels of satisfaction in the variables "relationship with immediate boss" and "relationship with fellow workers", and lower levels in "relationship with senior management" and "organizational system of the unit". In the inferential analysis, the scores were 75.63 for overall satisfaction, 35.28 for intrinsic satisfaction, and 40.36 for extrinsic satisfaction. There is a close relationship between workload and job satisfaction, showing more dissatisfaction regarding organizational aspects and professional recognition.

Extant research continues to establish the importance of teacher job satisfaction to student performance, yet teacher job satisfaction remains under-investigated in rural China. In this paper, we examine the prevalence and correlates of teacher job satisfaction. Using data from 634 teachers across 120 schools in rural China, we find an alarmingly high prevalence of teacher job dissatisfaction: roughly 21% of rural teachers were less than satisfied with their jobs. In addition, we find that several individual- and school-level characteristics, including being a male teacher, being a homeroom teacher, not having a management role in school, being a middle-aged teacher, and a school's boarding status, are correlated with teacher job dissatisfaction. In sum, the results demonstrate a need for further research and policy interventions to improve teacher job satisfaction in rural schools.

Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND
Psychological empowerment is generally understood to be associated with job satisfaction among nurses. However, recently published literature has questioned this association.
OBJECTIVE
We aimed to systematically investigate through a meta-analysis the association of psychological empowerment with job satisfaction among nurses.
METHODS
PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library, PsycInfo, and Embase were used to search targeted studies from conception to 20 January 2022. The correlation coefficients of each study were extracted and converted into Fisher's Z. Finally, pooled was calculated by Fisher's Z and standard error (SE).
RESULTS
A total of 28 studies encompassing 27 articles with 7,664 registered nurses were included. The pooled correlation coefficient between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction was 0.55. Subgroup analyses were conducted according to ethnicity, and the correlation in the Asian participants ( < 0.01) was significantly stronger ( < 0.05) than that of the Caucasian nurses ( < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONS
Psychological empowerment is strongly correlated to job satisfaction for registered nurses, especially among those from Asian countries. Interventions designed for psychological empowerment could be one of the strategies to promote the retention of nurses. Nonetheless, additional future studies are essential for more investigations.

Low job satisfaction has been associated with both negative health and negative organizational outcomes. Knowledge on which factors influence job satisfaction remains limited. This study assesses the associations between job satisfaction and three personality traits related to cognitive- and inhibitory control: delay discounting, risk-taking and sensation seeking (DRS-traits). Delay discounting and sensation seeking were inferred using self-reported behavioral data and health measurements for 80,676 participants in the UK Biobank. Multiple linear regression analysis produced beta coefficients and confidence intervals for each DRS-trait and job satisfaction. Analyses were adjusted for age, socioeconomic status and sleep quality. A combination of the three DRS-traits (CDRS) was assessed as well. Delay discounting and risk-taking were associated with, respectively, lower and higher job satisfaction in both sexes. Sensation seeking had no significant association with job satisfaction for either sex. The combined score, CDRS, was only negatively associated with job satisfaction in females but not in males. We discuss that the negative association between delay discounting and job satisfaction may be due to career related delay discounting effects, but also highlight that low job satisfaction itself may also lead to increased delay discounting. Additionally, we discuss why increased risk-taking behavior may have a positive effect on job satisfaction.

Revista Da Escola de Enfermagem Da U S P 2022to identify the team climate and job satisfaction in a Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU).
OBJECTIVE
to identify the team climate and job satisfaction in a Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU).
METHOD
this is a quantitative, exploratory-descriptive study. The sample corresponded to 95 workers, allocated in 40 teams of a SAMU in the Metropolitan Region of the city of São Paulo. We applied three instruments: sociodemographic/labor characterization; Team Climate Inventory; and Job Satisfaction Scale-S20/23, validated for Brazil. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis.
RESULTS
the total score of team climate was high both among workers (194.5 points; SD = 21) and among teams (197.7 points; SD = 18.4). Satisfaction had a mean total score of 4.5 (SD = 0.4), for workers, and 4.6 points (SD = 0.6), for teams. As for the climate, "Team participation" and "Support for new ideas" obtained agreement percentages >70% in all propositions. Regarding job satisfaction, there was a percentage of concordance >80% in the three dimensions.
CONCLUSION
the findings show a positive perception of workers about team climate and job satisfaction, supporting SAMU management in promoting a favorable environment for professional practice.

Observational Study
PURPOSE
Given the increase in demand for optometry services by society and the importance of the Optometry profession in Portugal and Spain, the objective of this study was to determine job satisfaction and important factors related to this satisfaction in a sample of Portuguese and Spanish optometrists.
METHODS
A prospective, cross-sectional, and observational study was carried out from June to December 2021. An adaptation of the 15-item job satisfaction in eye-care personnel (JSEP) questionnaire validated by Paudel et al. was administered to Portuguese and Spanish optometrists. The questionnaire was shared through different social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, etc.) in a Google form during the months of June to December 2021 in Portugal and Spain.
RESULTS
A total of 530 surveys were collected in Portugal (42.3%; n = 224) and Spain (57.7%; n = 306). The factors that most influence overall job satisfaction are salary, career development opportunities, recognition/prestige in society, good work-life balance (all p<0.001), workplace equipment and facilities, and encouragement reward positive feedback (both p = 0.002). When comparing the determinants of job satisfaction of optometrists, it was found that Portuguese professionals were generally more satisfied than Spanish ones (p<0.001). However, Spanish optometrists reported feeling more supported by their colleagues (p<0.001).
CONCLUSION
This study has shown that the level of job satisfaction was higher in Portugal than in Spain. The most important factors influencing job satisfaction were salary, job stability, and support from colleagues.

BACKGROUND
The main aims of the study were to explore the frequency of missed nursing care (MNC) among Czech hospital nurses, and to find the relationship between nurse's job satisfaction and MNC.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
The sample consisted of 513 nurses from 9 hospitals in the Czech Republic. Data were collected in January-August 2019 using the standardized MISSCARE Survey questionnaire, complemented with items assessing nurse's job satisfaction and demographic data.
RESULTS
The most frequently missed nursing activities were patient ambulation and emotional support to the patient and/or family. The surveyed nurses were most satisfied with being a nurse and least satisfied with the level of teamwork on their unit. The strongest correlation was found between satisfaction with the current position and satisfaction with being a nurse; there was a negative correlation between satisfaction with the current position and the overall level of MNC. There was a significant trend between the rating of satisfaction with the current position and MNC.
CONCLUSIONS
Nurse's job satisfaction is associated with the level of nursing care provided; more missed care means more dissatisfaction among nurses. Med Pr. 2021;72(3):231-7.
