A species of facultatively anaerobic, gram negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is motile by peritrichous flagella, oxidase negative, catalase positive, grows in KCN medium, and successfully ferment sucrose, raffinose and melibiose.
