A species of Gram-positive, aerobic, bacillus-shaped, endospore-forming bacteria in the phylum Firmicutes. This species is negative for urease, tryptophan deaminase, and hydrolysis of gelatin. It is positive for sole carbon use with glucose, mannitol, sucrose, glycogen, and several others.
