The impending updates to United States Pharmacopeia Chapter <797> and Chapter <795> specify that compounders must obtain active pharmaceutical ingredients and should obtain excipients from FDA-registered facilities. Additionally, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cautions compounders to know their bulk active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients suppliers. While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration expects 503B outsourcing facilities to qualify their critical suppliers, pharmacy boards and accrediting bodies are beginning to ask 503A compounders for their list of approved suppliers and how they qualify them. As such, pharmacies should become comfortable in qualifying suppliers as part of their quality assurance program. This article discusses how pharmacies can apply the elements of supplier qualification to their practice to ensure that critical supplies and services meet company specifications for quality and compliance.

There is a move in the pharmacy/pharmacist profession, a move that is being driven by many factors, and a move that is causing the art of pharmacy to become further and further separated from everyday pharmacy practice. These factors are discussed in this article, including stories, challenges, and solutions. The author has penned this article to try and convince the pharmacists and pharmacist advocates reading this article to immediately take action to reverse this trend before we have traveled too far down our current path. This includes the efforts of Boards of Pharmacy. To be successful in its mission of getting the safest and best healthcare for patients in the world of pharmacy is to facilitate pharmacists to practice at the full extent of their training and expertise.

Review
BACKGROUND
There is an urgent need for health care systems to be more efficient and efficacious. An approach to integrate public and private provider organizations such as community pharmacies and public primary health care (PHC) merits consideration. The objective of this review was to identify the types of integration in health care settings and discuss their applicability to the potential integration of community pharmacy and PHC.
METHODS
A narrative review using Medline, Scopus and SciELO databases was performed in which terms related to health were combined with terms related to integration. Levels and Types of integration: 14 types of integration were identified (two in breadth, seven as enablers and five in system levels). A model was created which classifies and assigns the types of integration to the different levels of the health system and to the breadth, intensity, and enablers of the integration process. Due to the nature of community pharmacy and PHC system, a horizontal integration at the micro level, supported by meso and macro levels policy, is suggested. The different elements of intensity and enablers can significantly influence the process.
CONCLUSION
The application of principles, concepts and types of integration suggest that it might be feasible and practical to integrate community pharmacies and PHC. However, the conflictive historical context would need to be overcome with appropriate policy and incentives.

In the general trend of nationalization after 1945, many pharmacies in our area were destroyed, relocated or repurposed. During these events, their interiors changed, and the inventory was damaged or destroyed. The aim of this paper is to research the historiography of pharmacy by reconstructing the chronology of the Joanović pharmacy as well as the Public Pharmacy of the town of Debeljača until it moved out of the building where the pharmacy was founded. Descriptive research covers the periods before the First World War, between the two World Wars and after the Second World War. The data presented in this paper are the result of interdisciplinary research related to the study of the historiography of the Joanović pharmacy as well as the Public Pharmacy of the town of Debeljača. This paper is based on unpublished documents (database of the pharmacy Joanović and the Publik Pharmacy of the town of Debeljača), as well as on the statements and written statements of Mrs. Mila Đorđević born Joanović and pharmacist Ivan Šimić as documents from the author’s personal archive. Methods of documentation analysis and desk analysis of secondary data were used. In the Joanović Pharmacy, almost semi-industrial production of cosmetic and perfumery products was developed, as well as the production of flavors for the production of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. After the forced purchase, a biochemical laboratory was formed in the newly established National Pharmacy, which provided a large number of various laboratory services. The results of this study could be used in further study of the historiography of pharmacy research of the goods that pharmacies offered to consumers.
