Review
The energy storage capacity of batteries and supercapacitors has seen rising demand and problems as large-scale energy storage systems and electric gadgets have become more widely adopted. With the development of nano-scale materials, the electrodes of these devices have changed dramatically. Heterostructure materials have gained increased interest as next-generation materials due to their unique interfaces, resilient structures and synergistic effects, providing the capacity to improve energy/power outputs and battery longevity. This review focuses on the role of MgO in heterostructured magnetic and energy storage devices and their applications and synthetic strategies. The role of metal oxides in manufacturing heterostructures has received much attention, especially MgO. Heterostructures have stronger interactions between tightly packed interfaces and perform better than single structures. Due to their typical physical and chemical properties, MgO heterostructures have made a breakthrough in energy storage. In perpendicularly magnetized heterostructures, the MgO's thickness significantly affects the magnetic properties, which is good news for the next generation of high-speed magnetic storage devices.

Review
Lysosomal Storage Diseases are multisystemic disorders determined by genetic variants, which affect the proteins involved in lysosomal function and cellular metabolism. Different therapeutic approaches, which are based on the physiologic mechanisms that regulate lysosomal function, have been proposed for these diseases. Currently, enzyme replacement therapy, gene therapy, or small molecules have been approved or are under clinical development to treat lysosomal storage disorders. The present article reviews the main therapeutic strategies that have been proposed so far, highlighting possible limitations and future perspectives.

Review
Hydrogen energy is an excellent carrier for connecting various renewable energy sources and has many advantages. However, hydrogen is flammable and explosive, and its density is low and easy to escape, which brings inconvenience to the storage and transportation of hydrogen. Therefore, hydrogen storage technology has become one of the key steps in the application of hydrogen energy. Solid-state hydrogen storage method has a very high volumetric hydrogen density compared to the traditional compressed hydrogen method. The main issue of solid-state hydrogen storage method is the development of advanced hydrogen storage materials. Metal borohydrides have very high hydrogen density and have received much attention over the past two decades. However, high hydrogen sorption temperature, slow kinetics, and poor reversibility still severely restrict its practical applications. This paper mainly discusses the research progress and problems to be solved of metal borohydride hydrogen storage materials for solid-state hydrogen storage.

DNA is a natural storage medium with the advantages of high storage density and long service life compared with traditional media. DNA storage can meet the current storage requirements for massive data. Owing to the limitations of the DNA storage technology, the data need to be converted into short DNA sequences for storage. However, in the process, a large amount of physical redundancy will be generated to index short DNA sequences. To reduce redundancy, this study proposes a DNA storage encoding scheme with hidden addressing. Using the improved fountain encoding scheme, the index replaces part of the data to realize hidden addresses, and then, a 10.1 MB file is encoded with the hidden addressing. First, the Dottup dot plot generator and the Jaccard similarity coefficient analyze the overall self-similarity of the encoding sequence index, and then the sequence fragments of GC content are used to verify the performance of this scheme. The final results show that the encoding scheme indexes with overall lower self-similarity, and the local thermodynamic properties of the sequence are better. The hidden addressing encoding scheme proposed can not only improve the utilization of bases but also ensure the correct rate of DNA storage during the sequencing and decoding processes.

DNA is an intelligent data storage medium due to its stability and high density. It has been used by nature for over 3.5 billion years. Compared with traditional methods, DNA offers better compression and physical density. DNA can retain information for thousands of years. However, challenges exist in scalability, standardization, metadata gathering, biocybersecurity, and specialized tools. Addressing these challenges is crucial for widespread implementation. Collaboration among experts, as well as keeping the future in mind, is needed to unlock the full potential of DNA data storage, which promises low energy costs, high-density storage, and long-term stability.

Review
Due to its high hydrogen storage efficiency and safety, Mg/MgH stands out from many solid hydrogen storage materials and is considered as one of the most promising solid hydrogen storage materials. However, thermodynamic/kinetic deficiencies of the performance of Mg/MgH limit its practical applications for which a series of improvements have been carried out by scholars. This paper summarizes, analyzes and organizes the current research status of the hydrogen storage performance of Mg/MgH and its improvement measures, discusses in detail the hot studies on improving the hydrogen storage performance of Mg/MgH (improvement measures, such as alloying treatment, nano-treatment and catalyst doping), and focuses on the discussion and in-depth analysis of the catalytic effects and mechanisms of various metal-based catalysts on the kinetic and cyclic performance of Mg/MgH. Finally, the challenges and opportunities faced by Mg/MgH are discussed, and strategies to improve its hydrogen storage performance are proposed to provide ideas and help for the next research in Mg/MgH and the whole field of hydrogen storage.

The rapid development of information technology has generated substantial data, which urgently requires new storage media and storage methods. DNA, as a storage medium with high density, high durability, and ultra-long storage time characteristics, is promising as a potential solution. However, DNA storage is still in its infancy and suffers from low space utilization of DNA strands, high read coverage, and poor coding coupling. Therefore, in this work, an adaptive coding DNA storage system is proposed to use different coding schemes for different coding region locations, and the method of adaptively generating coding constraint thresholds is used to optimize at the system level to ensure the efficient operation of each link. Images, videos, and PDF files of size 698 KB were stored in DNA using adaptive coding algorithms. The data were sequenced and losslessly decoded into raw data. Compared with previous work, the DNA storage system implemented by adaptive coding proposed in this paper has high storage density and low read coverage, which promotes the development of carbon-based storage systems.

Review
Nowadays, high-pressure hydrogen storage is the most commercially used technology owing to its high hydrogen purity, rapid charging/discharging of hydrogen, and low-cost manufacturing. Despite numerous reviews on hydrogen storage technologies, there is a relative scarcity of comprehensive examinations specifically focused on high-pressure gaseous hydrogen storage and its associated materials. This article systematically presents the manufacturing processes and materials used for a variety of high-pressure hydrogen storage containers, including metal cylinders, carbon fiber composite cylinders, and emerging glass material-based hydrogen storage containers. Furthermore, it introduces the relevant principles and theoretical studies, showcasing their advantages and disadvantages compared to conventional high-pressure hydrogen storage containers. Finally, this article provides an outlook on the future development of high-pressure hydrogen storage containers.

Review
Technology advancement demands energy storage devices (ESD) and systems (ESS) with better performance, longer life, higher reliability, and smarter management strategy. Designing such systems involve a trade-off among a large set of parameters, whereas advanced control strategies need to rely on the instantaneous status of many indicators. Machine learning can dramatically accelerate calculations, capture complex mechanisms to improve the prediction accuracy, and make optimized decisions based on comprehensive status information. The computational efficiency makes it applicable for real-time management. This paper reviews recent progresses in this emerging area, especially new concepts, approaches, and applications of machine learning technologies for commonly used energy storage devices (including batteries, capacitors/supercapacitors, fuel cells, other ESDs) and systems (including battery ESS, hybrid ESS, grid and microgrid-containing energy storage units, pumped-storage system, thermal ESS). The perspective on future directions is also discussed.
