Not least tuberculosis caused the growth of many spas. In Denmark, the Society for Physical Therapy and Dietetic was formed in 1902, and in 1921 it changed its name to the Danish Physiatrists Society, later the Danish Society for Physiatrists and Rehabilitation. In the early 1980's the National Board of Health decided, that all specialties should rehabilitate patients within their own area, and the specialty for rehabilitation was abolished. Therefore, all doctors need to have knowledge of the biopsychosocial model and the involvement of other professional groups and sectors.

Review
Principal goal of rehabilitation arrangements for patients in employable age are the preservation of the ability to work, the rehabilitation of employability and the prompt reintegration into the professional life respectively. In practice, the reintegration is achieving unsatisfactory results. The systematic literature research (acquisition period: 1998-2013) was conducted on the basis of defined search keywords in electronic databases, online archives, relevant German magazines (via manual search), and in bibliographies of selected publications. The definition of research results has taken place in consensus procedures on the tier of abstracts.Reasons for the unsatisfying reintegration quota are current temporary latencies and qualitative deficits of rehabilitation discharge reports, unsatisfying communication and cooperation between rehabilitation and company doctors, insufficient presence of company doctors, and trust issues between rehabilitant and company doctor among other things. The company doctors have an objective role as mediator based on their internal knowledge, competences and opportunities to influence, and they are awarded with a role as connecting piece on setting the course for rehabilitation.Since the currently available data are dissatisfactory concerning the medical interfaces in the rehabilitation process, despite the high thematically relevance, research activities should absolutely be intensified in this field of interest.

INTRODUCTION
Periodic increases in West Nile virus (WNV) infections have been documented. Proper rehabilitative management is essential for these patients, who may experience limitations in daily activities even after the resolution of the acute infection. Since there are currently no globally accepted guidelines, our aim is to conduct a best-evidence synthesis on rehabilitative management for patients with neuroinvasive WNV.
EVIDENCE ACQUISITION
We screened the literature with two independent researchers conducting searches on PubMed, Embase, SCOPUS, and Google Scholar databases for WNV-related studies in the field of rehabilitation. Suitable studies were identified and selected through a rigorous process. The review includes original research articles published up to August 15, 2023.
EVIDENCE SYNTHESIS
Despite the potential for bias in the studies, the literature suggests that a comprehensive and interdisciplinary rehabilitation program, which includes physical therapy with neuromotor and respiratory interventions, occupational therapy, neurocognitive interventions, and speech therapy for dysphagia and communication issues, can lead to functional improvement in WNV patients. This program should be tailored to address each patient's specific challenges, and the duration of the rehabilitation program may vary depending on the individual patient's needs.
CONCLUSIONS
Even if additional research with larger cohorts and higher evidence levels is needed for a comprehensive understanding of WNV patient rehabilitation, an early and comprehensive rehabilitation approach addressing respiratory, neuromuscular, and cognitive aspects appears effective for WNV patient recovery.

Review
Virtual reality (VR) possesses many qualities that give it rehabilitative potential for people with intellectual disabilities, both as an intervention and an assessment. It can provide a safe setting in which to practice skills that might carry too many risks in the real world. Unlike human tutors, computers are infinitely patient and consistent. Virtual worlds can be manipulated in ways the real world cannot be and can convey concepts without the use of language or other symbol systems. Published applications for this client group have all been as rehabilitative interventions. These are described in three groups: promoting skills for independent living, enhancing cognitive performance, and improving social skills. Five groups of studies are reviewed that utilize virtual technology to promote skills for independent living: grocery shopping, preparing food, orientation, road safety, and manufacturing skills. Fears that skills or habits learnt in a virtual setting would not transfer to the real world setting have not been supported by the available evidence, apart from those studies with people with autistic spectrum disorders. Future directions are in the development of more applications for independent living skills, exploring interventions for promoting motor and cognitive skills, and the developments of ecologically valid forms of assessment.

Review
This article review includes the controlled and randomized controlled trials about the use of music and music therapy techniques in the neuromotor rehabilitation. The paper defines the music therapy and delineates the neuroscientific bases and rehabilitative potential of music and music therapy interventions. Significant results are present in the stroke and Parkinson's disease rehabilitation. The Author's conclusions suggest the need of more rigorous studies based on clear procedures and strong methodological research criteria.

Review
The recent development of information technologies has dramatically increased the tools available for facilitating motor rehabilitation. This review focuses on technologies which can be used to augment movement-related information both to patients as well as to their therapists. A brief outline of the motor system emphasizes the role of spinal motor neurons in the control of voluntary movement and rehabilitative efforts. Technologies which induce passive motion to stimulate spinal motor output as well as technologies that stimulate active voluntary movements are discussed. Finally, we review technologies and notational methods that can be used to quantify and assess the quality of movement for evaluating the efficacy of motor rehabilitation efforts. We conclude that stronger evidence is necessary to determine the applicability of the wide range of technologies now available to clinical rehabilitation efforts.

BACKGROUND
The prevalence of working-aged stroke survivors is increasing yearly. Stroke is an expensive disease, causing financial burden to the government, the family and caregivers of the patient, thus making it imperative for working-aged stroke survivors to work to remain financially independent. Survivors' need to work necessitates occupational therapists to shift their focus from basic activities of daily living, to rehabilitating work.
OBJECTIVES
This study aimed to determine the perceptions of occupational therapists working with younger stroke survivors in public hospitals and clinics in Gauteng South Africa, about rehabilitating working-aged stroke survivors' work ability.
METHODS
Ethical clearance was obtained. A qualitative research design was used to obtain narrative, descriptive data from six focus groups. Therapists from public healthcare settings, who had more than six months' experience and had worked in neurological rehabilitation within the six months preceding the focus group, were invited to participate. Focus groups were audio recorded and transcribed. Inductive content analysis was used to identify themes and categories.
RESULTS
Few participants are involved in rehabilitating younger stroke survivors' work ability or facilitating return to work (RTW). The study identified perceived barriers and enablers to rendering OT services that meet working-aged stroke survivors' needs.
CONCLUSIONS
Despite enabling employment equity laws in South Africa, OTs working in the public sector appear to experience a sense of futility when trying to rehabilitate young stoke survivors to RTW. Fragmentation of the public sector and limited resources impede successful RTW for working-aged stroke survivors. Survivors' employment status and motivation to RTW facilitated rehabilitating work ability.

Review
OBJECTIVE
Strategies for the restoration of function and job performance in workers with musculoskeletal disorders have changed considerably since industrial rehabilitation became a distinct specialization in the 1980s. A rich body of research concerning approaches to medical and rehabilitative management of these disorders exists, resulting in a large number of hybrid approaches worldwide.
METHODS
This integrative review examined the evidence base for best practices in the rehabilitation of acute musculoskeletal workplace injuries, and also mapped the evolution of approaches over the past thirty years. Contextual factors that may have contributed to change were assessed through analysis of changing practice trends and review of descriptive literature over time.
RESULTS
A clear movement away from simplistic, unidimensional approaches towards comprehensive workplace interventions is evident. Economic concerns and growing government and insurance regulation of workplace safety and injury management were the likely drivers of change. While the contributions of various elements of disability management in the workplace were examined, many features of onsite interventions remain to be examined.
CONCLUSIONS
A strong body of research has produced notable advances in management of acute musculoskeletal workplace injury. Research concerning the delivery of workplace-based interventions, the role of workplace environment factors and a range of worker outcomes will further advance knowledge in this field.

Review
There are evidences to support recommending the early intake of prednisone (in its appropriate dose of 1 mg/kg body weight for up to 70 or 80 mg/day) or the combined use of prednisone and acyclovir (or valacyclovir) within 72 h following the onset of paralysis in order to improve the outcome of Bell's palsy (BP). Although there may be a controversy about the role of physiotherapy in BP or facial palsy, it seemed that local superficial heat therapy, massage, exercises, electrical stimulation and biofeedback training have a place in the treatment of lower motor facial palsy. However, each modality has its indications. Moreover, some rehabilitative surgical methods might be of benefit for some patients with traumatic facial injuries or long standing paralysis without recovery, but early surgery in BP is usually not recommended. However, few may recommend early surgery in BP when there is 90-100% facial nerve degeneration. The efficacy of acupuncture, magnetic pellets and other modalities of physiotherapy needs further investigation. The general principles and the different opinions in treating and rehabilitating facial palsy are discussed and the need for further research in this field is suggested.

Paraplegia caused by traumatic vertebrospinal lesions too often signifies paralyzing motor injury, and the rehabilitator is attributed the task of activating all of the rehabilitation procedures aimed at restoring an acceptable level of independence for the patient in terms of self-management and transferral. Traditional rehabilitation protocols have as a maximum objective the strengthening of the districts located above the injury, and their use in motori compensation operations aimed at maintaining the paralyzed region located below the injury. The main aim is that of training the patient to use the wheelchair and to adapt to his or her disability. Still today, many famous foreign spinal centers substitute the term "rehabilitation center" with "adaptation center." Today, we wish to bring the patient back to an erect physiological posture and walking, aided by his or her own limbs. New proposals for rehabilitation are observed that may be defined "rehabilitation while standing."
