PROPOSE
To review published Physical Activity (PA) on the Mental Health of Children and Adolescents aged 5 to 18 years during COVID-19 pandemic-induced school closures.
METHODS
From the database creation to April 2022, 10 databases are retrieved, with 4427 records filtered, 14 included in this research. The research takes Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) evaluation standards.
RESULTS
The thesis selects 14 studies from 6 countries, involving 400009 children and adolescents. These studies happened during the lockdown of COVID-19 (from December 2019 to April 2021). During the lockdown of COVID-19, schools were closed, which was considered part of a more extensive lockdown. Schools were closed for 1 to 4 weeks. There were 10 high quality studies (71.4%) and 4 medium quality studies (28.6%). 4 studies report that the pandemic reduces the time of PA but increases the time of watching screen and sitting. 10 studies (71.4%) identify that PA is positive for the mental health, because it helps reduce mental symptoms to a certain extent, especially anxiety, depression, and emotional disorders. 5 studies show that PA may not improve the mental health of children and adolescents under 12 during the pandemic. 4 studies indicate that the influence of PA on mental health of children and adolescents is determined by the amount of activity, including the extent, intensity, frequency, and duration, etc.
CONCLUSIONS
In this narrative synthesis of reports from the class suspension period, reports that PA has a improve on the mental health of children and adolescents to a certain extent. it is found that PA may be helpful in reducing mental health symptoms of children and adolescents who are influenced by class suspension because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, stakeholders of the mental health of children and adolescents around the world should recommend PA because it is a practicable and beneficial way for long-term mental support.

AIMS
To analyze needs and requirements of Pediatric Physical Therapists (PPTs), parents, children and adolescents with and without developmental disabilities in the future use of an activity monitor prototype (AM-p) in everyday clinical practice.
METHODS
Qualitative exploratory study with a thematic analysis approach, based on Braun and Clarke's six steps. Codes derived from the analysis and central themes were collated, based on Fleuren et al.'s groupings of determinants.
RESULTS
We interviewed 25 PPTs, 12 parents, and 12 children and adolescents. Within four groupings of determinants, we found nine themes: 1) development of information materials; 2) application: output visualization and ease of use; 3) design; 4) relevance and acceptance; 5) shared decision-making; 6) compatibility in daily living; 7) finances, 8) time, and 9) legislation and regulations.
CONCLUSIONS
End-users have similar basic needs, with individual fine-tuning to be addressed during further development of the AM-p. A child-friendly design, information material, and an easy-to-use application to read and interpret results, need to be developed. Efficient training for PPTs is important for the use of the AM-p and analysis of results. Communication between PPTs and children as well as parents enhances shared decision-making. We recommend involving diverse end-users to enable maximum customization of the AM-p.

INTRODUCTION
With the rapid pace of population aging, the health issues of the older adult have garnered widespread attention. Social participation plays a pivotal role in the health of the older adult. This study aims to explore the impact of social participation on the health status of the older adult.
METHODS
Using a binary logistic regression model, this study analyzes the influence of social participation methods on the health status of older adult individuals in China based on cross-sectional data from the "China Comprehensive Social Survey" in 2021. The study sample comprises individuals aged 60 to 99 years.
RESULTS
It was found that participation in physical activities [P<0.001, OR = 1.907], social and recreational activities [P<0.001, OR = 1.387], and online activities [P<0.001, OR = 1.808] were significantly positively correlated with the health status of the older adult.
CONCLUSIONS
The health of older adults is influenced by a combination of physical activities, social and recreational activities, and online activities. Good health is closely associated with high levels of physical activity. Engaging in physical exercise promotes physiological health, while participating in social and recreational activities has a significant impact on cognitive and depressive states. Additionally, involvement in online activities helps alleviate feelings of loneliness and enhances overall well-being.

BACKGROUND
Insufficient exercise affects the health of patients who have implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD). The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations between exercise self-efficacy (ESE) and its associated psychological factors in ICD recipients.
METHODS
This cross-sectional study included individuals who had undergone ICD implantation at the cardiology department of a medical centre in Taiwan. A face-to-face survey was conducted. The survey questionnaire included questions regarding the participants' demographics, perceived health (PH), ICD shock-related anxiety (ICD-SRA), self-care self-efficacy (SSE), perceived exercise benefit (PE-benefit), perceived exercise barrier (PE-barrier), and ESE. Data were analysed using SPSS 20.0 Software. Stepwise multiple regression analyses were also performed to evaluate the predictive effects of the aforementioned factors on ESE.
RESULTS
A total of 52 ICD recipients were enrolled. ESE was negatively correlated with ICD-SRA (r = -0.511; p < 0.01) and PE-barrier (r = -0.563; p < 0.01), but positively correlated with SSE (r = 0.339; p < 0.05) and PE-benefit (r = 0.464; p < 0.01). The stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that PE-barrier, PE-benefit, and ICD-SRA effectively predicted ESE in the participants.
CONCLUSIONS
ESE may be improved by overcoming PE-barrier, ICD-SRA and enhancing PE-benefit. Consequently, improving ESE may enhance the health benefits of exercise.

BACKGROUND
Little is known about the experience and the social and contextual factors influencing the acceptance of virtual reality (VR) physical activity games among long-term care (LTC) residents. Our study aims to address this research gap by investigating the unique experience of older adults with VR games. The findings will provide valuable insights into the factors influencing VR acceptance among LTC residents and help design inclusive VR technology that meets their needs and improves physical activity (PA) and well-being.
OBJECTIVE
We aimed to: (1) investigate how participants experience VR exergames and the meaning they associate with their participation; and (2) examine the factors that influence the participant's experience in VR exergames and explore how these factors affect the overall experience.
METHODS
We used a qualitative approach that follows the principles of the Interpretive Description methodology. Selective Optimization and Compensation (SOC) theory, Socioemotional Selectivity theory (SST) and technology acceptance models underpinned the theoretical foundations of this study. We conducted semi-structured interviews with participants. 19 Participants of a LTC were interviewed: five residents and ten tenants, aged 65 to 93 years (8 female and 7 male) and four staff members. Interviews ranged from 15 to 30 minutes and were transcribed verbatim and were analyzed using thematic analysis.
RESULTS
We identified four themes based on older adults' responses that reflected their unique VR gaming experience, including (1) enjoyment, excitement, and the novel environment; (2) PA and motivation to exercise; (3) social connection and support; and (4) individual preferences and challenges. Three themes were developed based on the staff members' data to capture their perspective on the factors that influence the acceptance of VR among LTC resident including (1) relevance and personalization of the games; (2) training and guidance; and (3) organizational and individual barriers.
CONCLUSIONS
VR gaming experiences are enjoyable exciting, and novel for LTC residents and tenants and can provide physical, cognitive, social, and motivational benefits for them. Proper guidance and personalized programs can increase understanding and familiarity with VR, leading to a higher level of acceptance and engagement. Our findings emphasize the significance of social connection and support in promoting acceptance and enjoyment of VR gaming among older adults. Incorporating social theories of aging helps to gain a better understanding of how aging-related changes influence technology acceptance among older adults. This approach can inform the development of technology that better meets their needs and preferences.

The mental health challenges among Chinese college students have become a pressing social concern. This study examined the relationship between parental support for exercise and depression among freshmen and also explored the mediating role of physical exercise and physical self-esteem. Utilizing the Parental Exercise Support Scale, Depression Self-Rating Scale, Physical Activity Rating Scale, and Physical Self-Esteem Scale, a questionnaire survey was conducted. Convenient samples from two universities were recruited by university teachers, which included 766 university freshmen. Correlation and linear regression analyses were employed to assess the overall associations while bootstrapping method was used to test mediation effects. Results indicated significant correlations between parental support for exercise and physical exercise, physical self-esteem, and depression. Physical exercise and physical self-esteem were found to mediate the relationship between parental support for exercise and depression, both individually and sequentially. These findings highlight the potential association between parental support for exercise and the mental health of college freshmen and also offer a mechanism to understand this association.

IMPORTANCE
A major concern with weight loss is concomitant bone loss. Exercise and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) represent weight loss strategies that may protect bone mass despite weight loss.
OBJECTIVE
To investigate bone health at clinically relevant sites (hip, spine, and forearm) after diet-induced weight loss followed by a 1-year intervention with exercise, liraglutide, or both combined.
DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS
This study was a predefined secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial conducted between August 2016 and November 2019 at the University of Copenhagen and Hvidovre Hospital in Denmark. Eligible participants included adults aged 18 to 65 years with obesity (body mass index of 32-43) and without diabetes. Data analysis was conducted from March to April 2023, with additional analysis in February 2024 during revision.
INTERVENTIONS
After an 8-week low-calorie diet (800 kcal/day), participants were randomized to 1 of 4 groups for 52 weeks: a moderate- to vigorous-intensity exercise program (exercise alone), 3.0 mg daily of the GLP-1 RA liraglutide (liraglutide alone), the combination, or placebo.
MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES
The primary outcome was change in site-specific bone mineral density (BMD) at the hip, lumbar spine, and distal forearm from before the low-calorie diet to the end of treatment, measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry in the intention-to-treat population.
RESULTS
In total, 195 participants (mean [SD] age, 42.84 [11.87] years; 124 female [64%] and 71 male [36%]; mean [SD] BMI, 37.00 [2.92]) were randomized, with 48 participants in the exercise group, 49 participants in the liraglutide group, 49 participants in the combination group, and 49 participants in the placebo group. The total estimated mean change in weight losses during the study was 7.03 kg (95% CI, 4.25-9.80 kg) in the placebo group, 11.19 kg (95% CI, 8.40-13.99 kg) in the exercise group, 13.74 kg (95% CI, 11.04-16.44 kg) in the liraglutide group, and 16.88 kg (95% CI, 14.23-19.54 kg) in the combination group. In the combination group, BMD was unchanged compared with the placebo group at the hip (mean change, -0.006 g/cm2; 95% CI, -0.017 to 0.004 g/cm2; P = .24) and lumbar spine (-0.010 g/cm2; 95% CI, -0.025 to 0.005 g/cm2; P = .20). Compared with the exercise group, BMD decreased for the liraglutide group at the hip (mean change, -0.013 g/cm2; 95% CI, -0.024 to -0.001 g/cm2; P = .03) and spine (mean change, -0.016 g/cm2; 95% CI, -0.032 to -0.001 g/cm2; P = .04).
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE
In this randomized clinical trial, the combination of exercise and GLP-1RA (liraglutide) was the most effective weight loss strategy while preserving bone health. Liraglutide treatment alone reduced BMD at clinically relevant sites more than exercise alone despite similar weight loss.

Sonicating explanted prosthetic implants to physically remove biofilms is a recognized method for improving the microbiological diagnosis of prosthetic joint infection (PJI); however, chemical and enzymatic treatments have been investigated as alternative biofilm removal methods. We compared the biofilm dislodging efficacy of sonication followed by the addition of enzyme cocktails with different activity spectra in the diagnosis of PJI with that of the sonication of fluid cultures alone. Consecutive patients who underwent prosthesis explantation due to infection at our institution were prospectively enrolled for 1 year. The diagnostic procedure included the collection of five intraoperative tissue cultures, sonication of the removed devices, and conventional culture of the sonication fluid. The resulting sonication fluid was also treated with an enzyme cocktail consisting of homemade dispersin B (0.04 µg/mL) and proteinase K (Sigma; 100 µg/mL) for 45 minutes at 37°C. The resulting sonication (S) and sonication with subsequent enzymatic treatment (SE) fluids were plated for aerobic and anaerobic culture broth for 7 days (aerobic) or 14 days (anaerobic). Identification was performed by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (Bruker). We included 107 patients from whom a prosthetic implant had been removed, among which PJI was diagnosed in 36 (34%). The sensitivity of S alone was significantly greater than that of SE alone (82% vs 71%; < 0.05). Four patients with PJI were positive after sonication alone but negative after sonication plus enzymatic treatment. The four microorganisms missed after the addition of the enzyme cocktail were , two coagulase-negative and . In conclusion, sonication alone was more sensitive than sonication followed by enzymatic treatment. The combination of these two methods had no synergistic effect; in contrast, the results suggest that the combination of both dislodgment methods affects the viability of gram-positive microorganisms.
IMPORTANCE
While the potential of sonication and enzymes as biofilm dispersal agents has been previously described, the originality of our work resides in the combination of both methods, which is hypothesized to enhance the ability to remove biofilm and, therefore, improve the microbiological diagnosis of PJI.

is a microaerophilic Gram-negative bacterium that resides in the human stomach and is classified as a class I carcinogen for gastric cancer. Numerous studies have demonstrated that infection plays a role in regulating the function of host cells, thereby contributing to the malignant transformation of these cells. However, infection is a chronic process, and short-term cellular experiments may not provide a comprehensive understanding of the situation, especially when considering the lower oxygen levels in the human stomach. In this study, we aimed to investigate the mechanisms underlying gastric cell dysfunction after prolonged exposure to under hypoxic conditions. We conducted a co-culture experiment using the gastric cell line GES-1 and for 30 generations under intermittent hypoxic conditions. By closely monitoring cell proliferation, migration, invasion, autophagy, and apoptosis, we revealed that sustained stimulation under hypoxic conditions significantly influences the function of GES-1 cells. This stimulation induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition and contributes to the propensity for malignant transformation of gastric cells. To confirm the results, we conducted an experiment involving Mongolian gerbils infected with for 85 weeks. All the results strongly suggest that the Nod1 receptor signaling pathway plays a crucial role in -related apoptosis and autophagy. In summary, continuous stimulation by affects the functioning of gastric cells through the Nod1 receptor signaling pathway, increasing the likelihood of cell carcinogenesis. The presence of hypoxic conditions further exacerbates this process.IMPORTANCEDeciphering the collaborative effects of infection on gastric epithelial cell function is key to unraveling the development mechanisms of gastric cancer. Prior research has solely examined the outcomes of short-term stimulation on gastric epithelial cells under aerobic conditions, neglecting the bacterium's nature as a microaerophilic organism that leads to cancer following prolonged stomach colonization. This study mimics a more genuine infection scenario by repeatedly exposing gastric epithelial cells to under hypoxic conditions for up to 30 generations. The results show that chronic exposure to in hypoxia substantially increases cell migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition, while suppressing autophagy and apoptosis. This highlights the significance of hypoxic conditions in intensifying the carcinogenic impact of infection. By accurately replicating the gastric environment, this study enhances our comprehension of 's pathogenic mechanisms in gastric cancer.

OBJECTIVE
Chronic diseases, which caused 36 million deaths in 2008, are the most common cause of death worldwide. Exercise is one of the non-pharmacological treatment methods. Although exercise benefits are well known, more than half of the population does not exercise due to the burden of exercise. The objectives of the current study were to evaluate the Turkish version of the Exercise Therapy Burden Questionnaire (ETBQ-T) and to investigate its reliability and validity.
METHODS
A total of 100 participants (female: 69, male: 31) who were diagnosed with at least one chronic disease participated in the translation validity and reliability analysis of the study. Cross-cultural adaptation of the ETBQ-T was performed according to Beaton's guidelines. The ETBQ-T, the European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions (EQ-5D), pain, satisfaction, and self-efficacy were applied for convergent validity. The ETBQ-T was retested to examine its reliability after 7 days.
RESULTS
The internal consistency and reliability were excellent (intraclass correlation coefficient=0.959; Cronbach's α=0.919). The standard error of measurement was reported as 5.35. The minimum detectable difference was also demonstrated at 1.35. The ETBQ-T had a good correlation with pain (r=0.545, p<0.001), satisfaction (r=-501, p<0.001), and self-efficacy (r=-0.579, p<0.001). However, the correlation of the ETBQ-T with EQ-5D (r=0.340, p=0.001) was weak. A factor was extracted, accounting for 58.289% of the total variation. There were no floor or ceiling effects.
CONCLUSIONS
The ETBQ-T is a reliable and valid tool to evaluate the exercise burden in the Turkish population with chronic disease.
