The dextrorotary isomer of thyroxine, a thyroid hormone with antihyperlipidemic activity. Dextrothyroxine stimulates the formation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and increases the catabolism of LDL thereby leading to increased excretion of cholesterol and bile acids via the biliary route.
